00:02A federal judge dismissed a proposed class action lawsuit alleging Stanley Tumblers
00:06concealed the presence of lead, according to Reuters.
00:08U.S. District Judge Tana Lin said consumers did not show a specific and plausible risk
00:13of harm from using the products, which are produced by Pacific Market International,
00:16makes the Tumblers.
00:17The company said lead-containing pellets are sealed and inaccessible.
00:21The court found no evidence that the pellets could contaminate contents, be ingested, or
00:25be inhaled.
00:25The judge said plaintiffs failed to explain any realistic harm from lead and ruled the
00:30product's safety claims were not shown to be false or misleading.
00:33Plaintiffs may amend their complaint, but the court warned that the case could be dismissed
00:36permanently if deficiencies are not addressed.
00:39Lawyers for both sides did not immediately comment.
