00:00It really felt like the Sabres, I suspected all along it was the Tampa player from the last visit
00:05that coined that phrasing the first time, and to see the Sabres just smother them last night was awesome.
00:15A different kind of awesome than 8-7 was, because that kind of game is way more likely to be
00:21a game
00:21you need to win coming up here in the playoffs than some 8-7 crazy shootout with eight fights.
00:28That just very rarely happens in the regular season, let alone in the playoffs.
00:32So let me just push that a little further, or try to.
00:36What did we learn last night?
00:40I think we learned that this team knows how they have, to me they found their secret sauce again last
00:48night,
00:49just more composed with the puck, and I think the defensive effort was max,
00:55and that's what you get when they are willing to do that.
01:00And I think, you know, I've been saying for a few days here that it makes sense to me,
01:06like mentally, physically, that they were not going to just lean into every game the way they had
01:13the majority of these games since December, that they were going to take a breath.
01:17And I think they have.
01:18And last night, I was wondering if they knew how to find the switch to flip, and they absolutely found
01:23it.
01:24I mean, I think undeniably.
01:25I mean, it was their game.
01:28You know, Tampa was only dangerous on the power play, really.
01:33Five on five, there was nothing going on.
01:36You know, talk about the third period being a lot.
01:39The whole game was kind of a lockdown.
01:41But just the power play was keeping Tampa in it.
01:44You know, Buffalo never ran away and hit.
01:46I think what we learned is they know what their game is and how to find it.
