00:17Shut up!
00:19I'm trying not to man-spread on Laz's shoulder.
00:21It's too late.
00:22I'm violating right now.
00:23Go ahead, go ahead.
00:24We are the cast of The Boys, and today,
00:26we are going to interview each other
00:27and find out how well we know each other
00:29for Vanity Fair.
00:31Vanity Fair!
00:33Okay.
00:35What's my favorite meme of Homelander?
00:38I know which one it is.
00:38It's gotta be the one where the cheeks go.
00:40You blow the cheeks.
00:41If you all talk over each other,
00:42no one's gonna hear anything.
00:43How are we gonna do that?
00:43Go Jessie first.
00:45It's either that or, do I get to say two?
00:47Can I change my answer?
00:48No. No.
00:49Everyone can say.
00:49The one where you're drinking milk.
00:51Oh, that's a good one.
00:52That's a lot.
00:53The one where you're looking around being like,
00:56everybody's cool with this?
00:57Yeah, she got it.
00:58I can do that one.
01:00Erin, what's your name?
01:01I'm gonna live with a who's gonna die on this hill.
01:03Shit, I have no idea.
01:05Do I give the answer now?
01:06Yes.
01:06Go for it.
01:07The winner is JCT Usher.
01:10I knew it, I knew it.
01:11There you go.
01:12It's the cheeks.
01:13Come on.
01:13He blows the cheeks like that or something.
01:15It's funny.
01:16Remember when I looked like a hot air balloon?
01:18Oh.
01:18I didn't even know that.
01:19The least flattering one.
01:20Oh.
01:21If I were forced to compete in the Olympics,
01:25what sport would I play?
01:27I got it.
01:28What would he do?
01:29Surfing.
01:29Oh, you got it.
01:32Surfing.
01:32That's a good one.
01:33I second surfing.
01:34I said track and field.
01:36Cycling.
01:37Rugby.
01:37That's what I was going to say.
01:38Rugby's not the Olympics.
01:39I know.
01:40It should be.
01:41It should be.
01:42Kiwi's gonna love Chase Crawford.
01:45Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:45My nieces all love you from Gossip Girls.
01:48Oh, thanks.
01:48Oh, I have one.
01:49I have one.
01:50Synchronized swimming.
01:52Yeah, of course.
01:52That's his sport.
01:53Synchronized swimming.
01:54Who said surfing?
01:55Do it.
01:56God.
01:56He nailed it.
01:57No, I didn't.
01:59You said cycling.
02:00Jessie T. Usher said surfing.
02:02No, I said surfing.
02:03Ladd said surfing.
02:04Track and field.
02:05Karen, you said track and field.
02:06Mine was water-based.
02:08Water-based.
02:09Surfing it is.

02:10Mine was water sports.
02:11Water sports.
02:12That's fair.
02:12Okay, last one.
02:13What's my weirdest onset habit?
02:16Oh, oh, you have a lot.
02:18Oh, you have a lot.
02:19I can go.
02:23Anthony has a cooling shirt in his suit, right?
02:25So he wears these tubes and he carries around a little cooler.
02:28It looks like he's carrying out a six pack of beer.
02:30Yeah, no, this is the weird thing.
02:31And it runs ice water through his veins.
02:33That's not a habit.
02:34It's not that weird and it's not a habit.
02:35So I can't even grade this.
02:37This is just you guys pick on me.
02:38What else is your weird habit?
02:40Oh my god, is it when you roll up your little,
02:43when you wear your little shorts?
02:45What's happening?
02:46No one can win this.
02:48What is it?
02:48What is it?
02:49I have no idea.
02:50I don't know what I'd do that's weird on set.
02:51I said a good answer.
02:52Give it to me.
02:53Someone say something and I'll say yes.
02:54I did it.
02:55Pretending to take a note.
02:56That's actually true.
02:58Jesse.
03:00Jeez.
03:01You know.
03:01Because he's got a process.
03:02They give him a note.
03:03He puts his hands behind his back and he goes,
03:05I can't buy a point.
03:05He goes, mm, mm.
03:06Not going to do that.
03:07Yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:08That's got to be the one.
03:09That's got to be it.
03:10Jesse won.
03:11Here we go.
03:11Jesse.
03:12Jesse Winston.
03:13Two followed by Karen and Lez.
03:15Damn it.
03:15Come on, Lezzy boy.
03:17All right, here we go.
03:17Water sports.
03:18Go Lez.
03:19If I were to treat the cast to a group vacation.
03:24Cabo.
03:24Cuba.
03:25Cuba.
03:25Bahamas.
03:26Cuba.
03:26Cuba's great.
03:28He might say, would he make us pay for it?
03:32Don't get fucking too quick on the draw, guys.
03:34Sorry, sorry, sorry.
03:35Where would I take you?
03:36Cabo.
03:37Cuba.
03:38Switzerland.
03:39Trinidad and Tobago.
03:40He likes Cabo, though.

03:45We back.
03:46The answer is.
03:47Cabo, Mexico.

03:49This is a great reveal.
03:51Hell yeah.
03:52What?
03:53Yes.
03:53Aaron got it.
03:54I don't expect anybody to get this one.

04:09Sorry.
04:09You don't have misophonia, do you?
04:11What?
04:12Misophonia?
04:12I don't know what this is.
04:13Getting called into set too early.
04:14People chewing?
04:15Oh.

04:18That's a pretty good one.
04:19Damn.
04:20That's a good one.
04:20If no one else gives you a better one, that's a good one.
04:23That's a good one.
04:23There's specific moments when Laz will refer to groups of people
04:27as motherfuckers.
04:28And like that, those got to be, because he's like,
04:30these motherfuckers, you know what I mean?
04:31That's, I'm trying to think of when that is.
04:34I'm the crank, the old man of the group.
04:36I would say Chase and Claudia were probably the closest.
04:40OK.
04:40What is the first answer?
04:41Half a point each.
04:42So.
04:43Give it to me.
04:44I need this.
04:45I'll go with.

07:01We did, but we're women in the back.
07:04We can't be heard.

08:48I'm in a hot seat.
08:49Wait, who won that last question?
08:50Guys, I think I'm ahead.
08:51Go, Jessie.
08:52I was very nice to you today.
08:55Jessie's not gonna let me get any just to get ahead.

09:27Oh, Jesus.
09:28Oh, my God.
09:28Yeah, tough.
09:29Even I don't know.
09:30Purple Rain.
09:31Girl on fire.
09:34How did you know?
09:38No one was close.

09:42Dang, that's a good one.
09:42That's a good one.
09:43That's not my go-to, but that's the closest to my go-to.
09:47Are we supposed to get clues?
09:48I guess I can get clues.
09:5180s rock?
09:52Eye of the tiger.
09:53That's a good guess, but no.
09:55Journey.
09:56Don't stop believing.
09:58Don't stop believing.
09:59Don't stop believing.
09:59Don't stop believing.
10:00Wait, I said-
10:00Don't stop believing.
10:01Don't you dare.
10:02I get credit for leading you guys on.
10:05Don't stop.
10:06That's a good one.
10:06Guys, it was me.
10:07It's between that and living on a prayer, maybe.
10:08This is why I can't play Monopoly.
10:10Another great one.
10:10Yeah.
10:11Love that for karaoke.
10:12I just almost got violent.
10:14Okay.
10:15What?
10:15What word would I use to describe myself?
10:1960 bucks.
10:20That's beautiful.
10:22Beautiful.
10:22Beautiful.
10:23Talented.
10:24Describe myself.
10:25Charming.
10:26Charming.
10:28Lovable.
10:28No.
10:29I think I got it.
10:30Hashtag blessed.
10:31That's a good guess.
10:32She's in the lead.
10:33I don't know if I would-
10:34Talented.
10:35To describe yourself?
10:36Easy going.
10:37To describe myself?
10:38I think chill.
10:39Easy going.
10:40Easy going's a good girl.
10:41Relax.
10:41I think Karen and Aaron could probably split that one between easy going and just blessed.
10:46I'll just keep it with those two.
10:48I'll take it.
10:48It's gotta be hashtag.
10:50Hashtag blessed.
10:50Flattery gets you nowhere.
10:51That's a game.
10:53Okay, we will see the witch around.
10:55All right.
10:56All right.
10:57Stop it.
10:58Stop it.
10:58So, first question.
11:00How many years did I play basketball?
11:02Four.
11:03Eight.
11:04Hint.
11:04I was the worst player on the team.
11:07Six months.
11:07Five years.
11:08Six months.
11:08One year.
11:09Six months.
11:09One month.
11:10You were the worst player on the basketball team.
11:11I was the worst player on the basketball team.
11:12Is this high school?
11:13It's either one day or eight years.
11:14I don't know, Jesse.
11:15It was 11 years and counting.
11:18I said eight.
11:19I was close.
11:20Yeah, I played for like a decade and a bit.
11:23Did you?
11:23Yeah, I was so bad.
11:25I don't know.
11:25How did you not get better?
11:28That is my...
11:29That's what I want to know.
11:30If you didn't do anything for 11 years, eventually you'll be decent.
11:33I know, I know.
11:34And I just didn't know that like I could stop.
11:37Okay, go ahead.
11:38What was the most challenging scene for me to act in on the boys?
11:41The children fight.
11:43No.
11:44Nah, that was a breeze.
11:45The big dance sequence.
11:46No, that was really hard.
11:48The big dance sequence.
11:49Oh, I know what I'm...
11:49What about the scene when you're sitting, talking to your brother?
11:52On the swings.
11:54What's that one?
11:55Actually, that could be one of them, but the one I'm thinking of is Little Nina fight with Frenchie.
12:04Really difficult location and yeah, it was emotional and also physical, so.
12:10Yeah.
12:10So nobody got that.
12:11So no one got it.
12:13Who is my favorite musician?
12:15Harry Styles, Dua Lipa.
12:18I know, I know you know.
12:22I know you know.
12:23Who is my favorite musician?
12:23Can we give it?
12:24Yes.
12:25Daniel Caesar.
12:26No, no, no, no.
12:27Not even close.
12:28I know who it is.
12:29He is a DJ.
12:31DJ Khaled.
12:31Diplo.
12:32DJ Khaled, no.
12:33David Guetta.
12:35Give us the first letter.
12:36I have two in mind and they both start with F.
12:38I know.
12:39Fuck.
12:40Fat Joe.
12:41I know who it is.
12:41Fat Joe.
12:43Fat Boy Slim.
12:44Lean back is a classic.
12:45I know who it is.
12:46Should I give it?
12:47Karen loves DJs.
12:48She knows her DJs, right?
12:49It's Fred again and Fortet.
12:52I knew it was Fred again.
12:53I knew it.
12:54All right, okay.
12:54As a matter of fact, we should be an escape room.
12:56Someone's going to hit me.
12:57This was in a two hour human podcast.
13:00All right.
13:01Love that.
13:03All right.
13:05What's my most prized possession?
13:06DVD collection.
13:08Your bidet.
13:11Your bidet.
13:13Shoe collection.
13:14Your journal.
13:16Australian flag over here.
13:19Journal.
13:20Erin.
13:20That's a good one.
13:21That's a good one.
13:23That's a good one.
13:23All right.
13:24Am I a night person or a morning person?
13:26Morning.
13:27You are a morning person.
13:29Morning.
13:30That was a binary answer.
13:31We're getting through these.
13:32What were you all doing before?
13:34Okay.
13:36Which castmate is most likely to make me laugh during the middle of a scene?
13:39Me.
13:40Colby.
13:40Me.
13:41Oh, Colby's good.
13:42Yeah.
13:42Who'd you say?
13:44What did you say?
13:44What did you say?
13:45It's you.
13:45It's me.
13:46It's you.
13:46You're so cool.
13:49No, it's because you do the most absurd, out of pocket shit.
13:53Oh, who do we think won?
13:55Do you know what?
13:55That's it?
13:56It was either Jesse or Claudia.
13:58It was either Jesse or Claudia.
14:00I don't know.
14:00It was Jesse or Claudia.
14:01I had a bunch in the beginning, but I haven't had anything right for the last line.
14:04Nine questions.
14:05No one has a clue.
14:06What did we just say?
14:08Claudia and Jesse.
14:09They were shouting.
14:09Yeah.
14:10Jesse.
14:10Wonderful.
14:12Lovely doctor.
14:13Doctor.
14:13Doctor.
14:13Otherwise, you're going to be talking about this for a long time.
14:17We shot season one, and we were shooting on location, and there was a fly catcher
14:23because that place just had a lot of flies.
14:26When it aired, people thought it was one of the Supes named Swato.
14:30Kripke went with it and built it into the show.
14:32So that started off as a fan theory when really it was just a fly on set.
14:36It ended up being part of the show in season two.
14:44Hey, I'm Chase Crawford.
14:46I'm Karen Fukuhara.
14:47What's up?
14:48I'm Jesse T. Usher.
14:49I'm Laz Alonzo.
14:50I'm Carl Urban.
14:51I'm Jack Quaid.
14:55Jensen Ackles.
14:56And we're here to check out Vanity Fair's fan theories for the boys.
15:00Fan theories on Twitter are always fun.
15:02Okay.
15:04Shadow Chew.
15:05Shadow Chew.
15:06I personally think we're eventually going to find out Billy is a soup and took Compound
15:11V back in the day to help fight against the Supes.
15:15His punches always seem super strong, even for a bigger guy.
15:19Hey.
15:19V.
15:21That's a very interesting fan theory, because obviously you know in the comics all the boys
15:27are on a form of V, so it's not wrong.
15:31But let me just say this season you're getting close to somewhere that's completely wrong.
15:42Mr. M says, I wonder if Soldier Boy will try to step in the spotlight and Vought will be
15:48like, yeah, yeah, go ahead, that's good marketing.
15:51Then Homelander will get super jealous and start to care about the spotlight again only
15:54because someone is trying to take that away.
15:56We see me roll his eyes when talking to Homelander.
16:00God bless you, Soldier Boy.
16:05So, they won't get along.
16:07The rolling the eyes thing might be onto something there.
16:10Spotlight thing, maybe in a way you don't expect.
16:14As they say, give them what they want in a way they don't expect it.
16:18That's what Grandpa says.
16:22Write that down, kids.
16:25From Mark Johnson, I have something I keep noticing, and spoiler alert,
16:29I think Fresca might be used as mind control by the church.
16:34I always want to know.
16:35Kripke won't even tell me.
16:36I don't really know what the Fresca thing was.
16:39They always seem to have a can ready for the deep wherever he goes,
16:42and he just starts drinking it because it's the only beverage around.
16:45Coincidence?
16:46I think not.
16:47No, no, I think it's just bold and delicious.
16:49I don't think it actually has any mind control powers.
16:53But yeah, I did ask Kripke about that.
16:55I don't think anyone really ever gave me a straight answer.
16:57Want a Fresca?
16:57Would you like a Fresca?
16:58Would you like a Fresca?
17:00Fresca?
17:00No, thank you.
17:02That's like one of those seeds at Kripke Plants.
17:04Yeah.
17:05He might not have an endgame for it, but it's like, he's working on it.
17:09Yeah.
17:10Yeah, yeah, yeah.
17:11He's cooking something.
17:12It's a theory.
17:13Theory.
17:14It's a theory.
17:14You never know.
17:15From the Kim Jong Il-ist.
17:19Oh.
17:20All right, Kim Jong Il-ist.
17:23I have a theory that they are incorporating the milk part of mother's milk into Homelander.
17:28MM in the comics needs to drink his mother's milk to survive.
17:32If he doesn't drink it, he gets weak and dies.
17:35Is there any chance they are setting up something similar for Homelander?
17:39Just a thought, maybe I am too high.
17:43Well, definitely got to be high.
17:45Love the honesty.
17:46To come up with this one.
17:47In the comics, mother's milk was the character that drank the milk.
17:51And now it's kind of been passed to Homelander's character.
17:54But I will say that in season three, you will find the origin of the name mother's milk.
18:02I got one here from Julia.
18:04Hey, Julia.
18:05I haven't read the comics, but I have a theory that Butcher is a soup because he should have died
18:09like four or five times by now.
18:11Part of the reason he hates soups is him projecting not just what happened to Becca.
18:16I think Lenny and he took thee together.
18:20Billy lived while Lenny died.
18:22Ooh.
18:23Interesting.
18:24Very interesting.
18:26That's wrong.
18:29But keep watching and come up with some more theories.
18:32You can tell you what, you're going to find out more about Lenny this season.
18:34That's diving deep.
18:36That's going to be, that's all I'm saying.
18:37From Purple Hickory 56.
18:40A-Train killed what might be the only person he loved in season one.
18:45He will only do what benefits him and what will keep him in the fame.
18:49Another thing is, he was the one who helped Homelander give Compound V to terrorists.
18:54Now that he's back in the seven, he's just going to be his old terrible self again.
18:58I mean, there are some true facts in here.
19:00He did kill someone that he loved, one of the only people that he loves.
19:04He does do pretty much whatever it takes to stay in his position.
19:07So I can see that part of it being true.
19:10Him giving, um, Compound V with Homelander to terrorists, um, I don't know.
19:15Now that he's back in the sevens, he's going to be old terrible self.
19:17Like, have some hope, man.
19:18Like, dang.
19:19Give my boy a chance.
19:21He's trying his best.
19:24I think what's really interesting is when I do get a chance to have a decent conversation
19:28with fans of the show who, um, always have something to say about that A-Train storyline
19:32is they always start with like, man, I hated you so much.
19:34Like, I just hated you in the beginning.
19:36You were the worst.
19:37And then I started to like you and I wasn't sure how I felt about that.
19:40You know what I mean?
19:41And I just feel like, yeah, I'm drawing you in now.
19:46I got you.
19:47Like, yeah, I got you suckas.
19:51But it's true though, you know, there's an internal battle within A-Train and it allows
19:55him to be human under these crazy circumstances.
20:00Do you think it's better to start off being hated and then be liked than to start off being
20:05liked and then be hated?
20:07I don't know.
20:07Both are great.
20:08Both are good.
20:09Both are good.
20:10As long as they feel something extreme.
20:12Yeah.
20:13Yeah.
20:13All right.
20:14I got one here.
20:14It says, recently, Jensen Eggles has been cast as Soldier Boy for season three.
20:19At face value, it appears he's just another soup in the world of the boys that's going
20:23to get a spotlight lit on him.
20:25I don't think Vaught even has a modern Soldier Boy.
20:28I think they had the original in World War Two and they're going to bring back the persona.
20:33And I think they're going to do this to replace Homelander.
20:37True.
20:37I don't believe there is a modern day Soldier Boy.
20:41And I think it is not a spoiler that they are bringing the persona back from WW2.
20:48But to replace Homelander?
20:51Yeah.
20:51No.
20:52He can't replace Homelander.
20:53Might be able to join him.
20:54Might be able to fight him.
20:56But I'd venture to say that Homelander is here to stay for a little while.
20:58You know, the anticipation of the character is great.
21:01Like, I couldn't wait to read it when I got the role to see where he was going to fit
21:04in
21:04and how he was going to be utilized.
21:06And how they do it and what they do with this character, I didn't see coming.
21:11So, hang on.
21:14Matt Gilbert.
21:15Herogasm.
21:16Bring it on.
21:17Stormfront will be back.
21:18She'll probably only be in a couple of episodes, I reckon.
21:22Like in a home for disabled superheroes and the boys have to visit her for information
21:28then somehow finish her off.
21:29That honor could go to Billy or Kimiko.
21:33That's a spoiler.
21:35That's a spoiler.
21:37From you, owner of Speed.
21:39The Deep is actually the most powerful character in the show.
21:42Why do we all chuckle?
21:44Everybody wait.
21:45Because he is, shut up.
21:46I can talk to fish, so what?
21:48So powerful that he is able to sense that what goes on in his world
21:52is dictated by what goes on in a TV show in our world.
21:55So he manipulates reality to make himself a great comic relief character so he would never die.
22:00He's been manipulating everything and everyone the whole time and is the actual head of Vought and the leader of
22:05the Seven,
22:06but faked being fired and had Homelander as a puppet to not have anyone suspicious of him.
22:13That's deep.
22:14Very simple theory.
22:17That's so social media though, isn't it?
22:18It is. It's 100% like what we've been hearing in the last three years.
22:22Yeah, this is a little overthinking it.
22:24He's been manipulating everything and everyone.
22:26I actually like that, you know.
22:27I mean, no one will ever, ever know.
22:29I mean, he could definitely summon, you know, some dolphins on everybody.
22:33I mean, like, where's the battle in the sea?
22:35He can talk to everybody.
22:37I mean, he's a bit of a Homelander puppet, that's for sure.
22:40Okay, from Kim.
22:41100% guaranteed prediction, Season 3 will be awesome and shit will hit the fan.
22:47Yes.
22:47Yeah, that's a real one.
22:48That's one.
22:49100%.
22:50Hey, thank you so much, guys.
22:52Vanity Fair.
22:53Fan theories.
22:54We're the cast of the boys.
22:56Thanks.
22:57In a world where the cast of the boys watches the trailer for the third season,
23:03we ask them to explain every shot.
23:10So, let me say it again, Cam.
23:12You made me a superhero.
23:13Ah, this guy.
23:14I'm also just a man who fell in love with the wrong woman.
23:15Just a man who fell for the wrong woman.
23:18Felt for the wrong woman.
23:19But out of crisis comes change.
23:21That is everybody's favorite superhero, Homelander.
23:24He's gotta answer some tough questions there.
23:26He's at the premiere of The Dawn of the Seven, the movie that we all shot.
23:30Actually, not The Deep.
23:30The Deep was excluded from The Dawn of the Seven.
23:32Oh, look.
23:33And there's little Stan Edgar, the lovely Giancarlo Esposito.
23:37Probably with his arm up my butt like a puppet.
23:40Which is pretty much what he did for quite a while in this season.
23:43Yep, getting the hard questions on a red carpet or a step and repeat.
23:46That's, you know, that's our kryptonite as actors.
23:48Doesn't seem very relaxed, does he?
23:56This reminded me, I saw this post on Instagram that showed all these different hundreds of different news stations saying
24:04the exact same thing.
24:05You know, we think we're watching one set of news, but they're all scripted.
24:10Yeah.
24:10So it was funny to see like how scripted on every single one of these news stations Homelander was.
24:17The talking points.
24:17The talking points.
24:18The talking points, yeah.
24:19Talking points.
24:20Right.
24:20I am very excited for everyone to meet the real me.
24:25So fun to watch those cracks open up.
24:27He looks insane, I love it.
24:28I know, he does.
24:29Like what's wrong with poster boy right there?
24:32I enjoyed seeing this because I never get to see you on set.
24:36It's true.
24:36I watch your work when the rest of the world watches Homelander.
24:40So this was cool to see like where you took them this season.
24:43These are stairs that I haven't seen in season one and two.
24:47So I don't know.
24:47The catering wasn't as good this year and I was thinking.
24:49Was that it?
24:50Where am I going to get lunch?
24:51You were hungry.
24:52There's something wrong with Homelander.
24:55That's not new information.
24:57There is definitely something wrong with Homelander.
25:00But I think this season goes.
25:01One step further.
25:03Much deeper into the, the source of the, the internal dilemma.
25:07I think, I think they're straight from like a, an American history book.
25:11Like he's got like George, paintings of George Washington.
25:14It's really funny.
25:14They built these amazing new sets and that's Homelander's condo.
25:18It's like a two level.
25:19It's massive like townhouse in New York.
25:21The interesting thing about the entire Homelander set.
25:23When I first walked onto it, I was frankly a little surprised.
25:27I just didn't see any Homelander in it.
25:29And then, you know, I'm always late to the party.
25:31And then I realized, Oh, that's the point.
25:33Everything in that apartment is just a generic piece of Americana.
25:37Or something reflective of who they believe that Homelander should be.
25:43There is no real identity to this character.
25:45That's the eternal struggle for the guy.
25:47He's a product basically.
25:48He's like a tin of beans.
25:50So none of that means anything to him.
25:55Something broken.
25:59Oh, wow.
26:01Just another Tuesday pulling on an udder.
26:03Was that a cow's udder?
26:04That was.
26:04I don't remember that in the script.
26:06Yeah.
26:06I don't remember any of that.
26:07I want to know about the cow.
26:08I want to know about the cow.
26:10I want to know about the cow.
26:10I blocked it out.
26:11So I can't remember it.
26:12I think that was a, no, I'm sure it wasn't a real cow.
26:15Was it?
26:15I don't even know.
26:16It was a real cow.
26:17Wow.
26:18Have you ever milked a cow?
26:20I've never milked a cow.
26:21So they wanted me to go two hours away for a cow milking lesson.
26:25I declined the invitation on my day off to go and milk a cow.
26:29I want it to be fresh on the day because Homelander doesn't know how to milk a cow.
26:33So let's go through that, which is all just me being lazy, not wanting to do a rehearsal.
26:38But anyway, so we got there on the day.
26:40It's disgusting.
26:41Oh, it feels like a little saggy man's teat.
26:45It feels awful.
26:47Broken.
26:48But it's, it's the face he's making.
26:53With the glove on, too.
26:55With the, oh.
26:56Yeah.
26:58He's lost his fucking mind.
27:02Love.
27:03Daddy and Amu.
27:05Homie's kind of losing his shit this year.
27:07Yeah, losing his mind.
27:08Feels like he's kind of losing control of himself a bit.
27:11He's not sure how to navigate the waters now that he's forced himself in the power, in the position of
27:17power that he's in.
27:18We're seeing kind of the fall of what power can do to you.
27:29We've been on the straight and narrow all year.
27:32Our office, our new headquarters, because the boys get new headquarters this season.
27:37There was a Homelander face, literally, on every single wall, pole, door, post-it pads, anywhere you looked, coffee machine.
27:48It was literally a Homelander fest.
27:51I paid good money for that.
27:52But it's all, it's all altered a little bit.
27:54Right.
27:55Yeah, so I think we have a photo of one of your Homelander posters with like a dart on either
28:02the eyeball or like somewhere down there.
28:04Somewhere down where?
28:05Just, you know, like a little dart.
28:07Like the chest?
28:08Down there.
28:09Leg, knees.
28:10In between.
28:11Fies.
28:12A little above.
28:13Stomach.
28:14Below.
28:15What else is that, Karen?
28:17Anywhere.
28:18It almost looked like you did it as a practical joke to fuck with us.
28:22That's how bad it was.
28:24It was, it was hilarious.
28:25It was hilarious.
28:26We've been on the straight and narrow all year.
28:30Gunpowder.
28:30Is that right?
28:31Yeah, that was.
28:34That's awesome.
28:35I mean, he's an amazing actor from the Boondock Saints.
28:38Sean Patrick Flannery.
28:39SPF, that's right.
28:40I worked with Sean years, years, a million years ago on a little movie and I was really excited when
28:44I heard he was coming on.
28:46And then I never saw the guy.
28:49Here.
28:52I'm killing soup.
28:53Carl looks angry.
28:54I don't know if I've seen Butcher smile yet.
28:57Oops.
28:57No drinking.
28:59Even follow Hugh Campbell's orders without strangling him.
29:02Now you're just being cruel.
29:04Or maybe you're not such an asshole.
29:05I've been in this town, so I'll get back in the city.
29:09Mother's milk for seasons one and two, his whole goal was to finally get home to his daughter.
29:15Season three starts off with him living out his dream.
29:18Or so we think.
29:19In the dream, she's super into superheroes.
29:24Does that rub you the wrong way?
29:26It does rub me the wrong way.
29:27That's a very, very good observation.
29:29And they're on the poster in the back, I think.
29:31I didn't even notice that.
29:32But yeah, and the poster is a soup poster, right?
29:34Yes.
29:34So that must be interesting for your dude.
29:37So we're going to start seeing behind the curtain his dream now.
29:41Is it a dream or is it a nightmare?
29:43Oh my God.
29:44Be careful what you wish for, right?
29:45Be careful what you wish for.
29:46Which is the theme of the season from my perspective.
29:49Yeah.
29:50Careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
29:52Yep.
29:54People love superpowers.
29:58But real power isn't this.
30:03It's the ability to bend the world to your will.
30:07A lot just happened.
30:09A lot just happened.
30:10A lot.
30:10Yep.
30:11Lots of blood.
30:12Someone's jumping off of a building.
30:14Someone clearly just exploded on the ground.
30:16The breaking off into just ground chuck.
30:19Right.
30:20And growing, going everywhere.
30:21It's not really what happens.
30:23Creative license there with the...
30:24I think it's...
30:25Tarantino has his own blood that he uses.
30:29Really?
30:29It's like Quentin blood.
30:30And it's this super bright colored red.
30:33I feel like we get to have a little bit of creative liberty with the explosive body parts.
30:38Some Tarantino blood.
30:39I love it.
30:39Yeah, yeah.
30:46And then there's Ashley, stressing out.
30:48She has a lot of fun this season though.
30:49I don't know if she has fun this season.
30:51Yeah, she had more fun than I did.
30:53No, but it's fun to watch her not having fun.
30:54Caused by you.
30:55Yeah.
30:56It's great.
30:56Yeah, yeah, yeah.
30:57It's so much fun to...
30:57I don't think this is a spoiler if I say bathrooms.
31:00That's all I'm going to say.
31:01Bathrooms.
31:02Bathrooms.
31:02Bathrooms.
31:04Definitely didn't spoil anything for me.
31:06I don't know what you're talking about.
31:07Good.
31:09The gloves are off.
31:11Thought we could fight about the right way, but we can't.
31:13It's all rigged.
31:13We have to do it your way.
31:16Oh, another one.
31:17Wow.
31:18That's...
31:18That's one of the...
31:20That's one of the sequences I'm really excited to see.
31:22This season, I got to learn a new skill.
31:25And basically in this scene, I'm fighting someone with...
31:29Her weapon of choice, do you know?
31:31No, I can't remember.
31:32A bunch of dildos.
31:33And so what you just saw is some guy's face getting penetrated by a dildo.
31:39Oh, that's right.
31:40That's right.
31:40Is that what that was?
31:41Wow.
31:42Yeah, we all got our own dildos.
31:43Yeah.
31:44Mine was a dolphin, basically.
31:46It basically was.
31:47It was so much fun to shoot.
31:49Cool.
31:49Moving on.
31:50Moving on.
31:50Yeah.
31:51We had some big sequences this season.
31:53For just one of the ones that I was involved with.
31:55Right.
31:55It was probably several weeks.
31:58And the best is when you get all the choreography down.
32:00They shoot it on an iPhone and send it over to L.A.
32:03And they're like, no.
32:07And we got to come back in the next day and start all over with the choreography.
32:11Yeah, yeah, yeah.
32:14We're all we've got.
32:15It's up to us.
32:17I think I have something.
32:20Yeah, there he is.
32:22That guy.
32:22I know that guy.
32:23Is that a cannon?
32:24I think it's a rocket launcher, if I'm not mistaken.
32:27That's, I think, the first time we see Soldier Boy in action.
32:31And that's young gunpowder behind me there.
32:32That looks good.
32:33Oh, wow.
32:33That's dope.
32:34I can't wait to see it.
32:35I haven't seen any of this stuff.
32:37Soldier Boy is the original Homelander.
32:39He's basically Homelander 1.0.
32:42He's an apex predator in that hierarchy, as is Homelander, as is Butcher, actually, as well.
32:50So whenever you get apex predators together, tends not to go well for two of them.
32:55Right.
32:56And goes really great for one of them.
32:58Right.
32:58But the jury's out on which apex predator it's going to go well for.
33:03Maybe we can use it to blow Homelander's fucking brains out.
33:08Yeah.
33:11That would be a head, someone's face.
33:14Just a little disagreement.
33:15Yeah.
33:15Yeah.
33:16The coffee wasn't hot enough that day.
33:18That particular moment or sequence, that took a little longer than anticipated because
33:22they had built a rig.
33:24They built a head.
33:25And inside the head, they had put blood bags.
33:28Oh, wow.
33:29And so as I was punching through this fake head, it was supposed to split open.
33:34And then I was supposed to punch through the blood bags.
33:37And then we would see the blood coming up on the shield.
33:39Right.
33:40And it would, you know, splashing up.
33:41I had to go back and do that again weeks later.
33:43To get it right?
33:44To get it right.
33:45Wow.
33:45It just wasn't bloody enough for Kripke.
33:47Imagine that.
33:52What's this?
33:52Makes you a soup for 24 hours.
33:55You're going to need it.
33:59Holy reveal.
34:00Yeah.
34:01Can't say what happens with that.
34:02Who knows what would happen with those hypodermic needles full of whatever that green stuff
34:07was.
34:07Whatever that was.
34:08Whatever could happen with that stuff.
34:11Love it.
34:12Yes.
34:13Some temp V.
34:14They don't know what their powers are going to be.
34:17Right.
34:17Until they take it.
34:18So I don't know.
34:19I thought that was pretty cool.
34:23The whole point of what we do is that.
34:26That was downtown Toronto.
34:28Nelson Craig, who directed this episode, he and I went and met for coffee two days prior
34:33to shooting this.
34:34That one right there.
34:34We just happened to go to the place that, and he was like, oh, you're going to be exploding
34:38this building in two days.
34:39I was like, oh, what?
34:41No one should have that kind of power.
34:45For once, I'll level the fucking playing field.
34:48This guy comes in, and I just do a broadside hit with the shield.
34:52And he was on a wire.
34:53All there was was that little hole in the ceiling there.
34:56And as soon as I hit.
34:57Small target.
34:58Yeah.
34:58He just goes whoop.
35:00And he's gone out of sight.
35:02That's great.
35:02He went up like 30, 40 feet.
35:04Swatting at somebody, and then having them literally disappear into the sky was a really
35:09weird sensation.
35:10He deserved it.
35:11He deserved that.
35:14I show people the real me.
35:20More than any other season, we were practicing choreography for days and up to weeks where
35:28there was so much action.
35:31I mean, I know Tony and some of the others had even more rehearsals than my character did.
35:37Dude, I was so disappointed.
35:38Why?
35:39Why?
35:40Because I signed on to this job thinking I would just laser people and throw them around
35:46and just do very little.
35:48Do speeches and all of a sudden I was getting dragged into rehearsals because they decided
35:52they wanted me to do fight sequences.
35:54I'll tell you one thing.
35:54I was like, I'm old man.
35:55These ligaments, they're not free anymore.
35:57I'll tell you one thing though.
35:59It was so cool to be on set shooting the same day and watching what you guys came up with.
36:06Sometimes as an actor, you catch yourself watching your fellow actors in the moment.
36:11You're just like, you're a fanboy.
36:13You're like, oh shit.
36:14When he puts on the suit, there's a little part of me that's like, oh shit, it's motherfucking
36:18Homelander.
36:18Like, yes.
36:19You know what I'm saying?
36:20I don't let him know that.
36:21But yeah, it's like you're into it.
36:24People put their bodies on the line this season.
36:27Everybody did.
36:27It's true.
36:31I mean, they fucking love me.
36:36Hey.
36:37I mean, honestly, they could get rid of this entire trailer and just play that reaction.
36:42Yeah.
36:42Everybody would be like, oh my God, I can't wait for season three.
36:48There we are.
36:49There you are.
36:49Look at that.
36:50He's my best friend.
36:51Yeah.
36:52That's it.
36:52Love him.
36:53We're just going to walk.
36:54I'm just going to follow him wherever he's going.
36:55Isn't there a meme?
36:56Fight some crime.
36:56A meme where a guy's turning around looking at some chick walking by and the girlfriend
37:00is looking at...
37:02That's what it is.
37:02That's exactly what they're shooting right there.
37:04Number one and number two right there, you know?
37:06The besties.
37:12Fuck!
37:12Fuck!
37:13Fuck!
37:19Christ.
37:19Soldier boy.
37:22Holy shit!
37:26Oh, wow.
37:27Amazing.
37:28That was my first day on set.
37:29Did I tell you that?
37:29That was your first day?
37:30First day on set.
37:32They got me in my birthday suit to a crew I don't know that's fully, that's masked up
37:37so I can't see their expressions, which sucks.
37:38Oh yeah, that is a very first hello.
37:41And to an entire cast that I'm literally shaking hands with for the first time.
37:44They're like, okay, Jensen, let me have your robe.
37:47There he is.
37:48That's me.
37:50That was day one when they find Soldier Boy and pull him out of his hyperbaric chamber.
37:56Something keeping me alive.
37:59This season, I definitely feel like we pulled from literally every drop of the gas tank.
38:06We poured our hearts into the work.
38:08I'm scared for them to see some of the stuff.
38:11I can't wait to see generally everything The Deep does.
38:14His cephalopod romance is just epic.
38:17You know, The Deep has a lot, there's a lot of like fun improv stuff we get to do.
38:21He really needs his own spinoff show.
38:23Sure, let me tell you, season two he was one of my favorite characters.
38:26He's been my favorite character, if one of them, if not my favorite character since day one.
38:31I haven't seen a lot of the stuff that I'm excited to see how it turns out.
38:35I mean, we did, they did do, you know, we did do Herogasm.
38:38Yeah, just the Herogasm I think itself is something that a lot of people are excited to see.
38:44Right.
38:44I know I was just kind of very curious as to how that was going to work.
38:49And even the director was like, I don't know what I'm shooting anymore.
38:51I've never seen dailies like this ever.
38:54Our crew looked traumatized.
38:56So I warn you, you can't unsee it.
38:59That toothpaste will not go back in the tube.
