00:10hey guys we just got back from the Super Mario Galaxy movie in its quest to make a billion
00:20dollars this is three years later after the first the first film we famously got got reamed by
00:32our fans in the internet for being not kind to the film we gave it a five out of ten
00:38if I remember
00:38right I think y'all might have given it less than than me and we're back with the same directorial
00:46team the same writer Matthew Fogle but a new story we go to the galaxy we use a lot of
00:54new characters
00:56and the stars the star kids who are freaking adorable and I gotta say I I actually enjoyed
01:04this film's characters better its pacing was at least initially a little bit better and
01:15and then everything kind of falls apart back to the insane um mile a minute pace of the previous
01:25one where nothing feels um explored deb things are just kind of thrown on the screen and honestly it
01:33started to feel as if I was watching an eight episode uh you know Disney plus series just jammed
01:39packed uh within a a you know hour and uh some minute run time and is a 98 minute run
01:49time this movie is
01:51jam-packed it is cluttered there are tons of character cameos and um yeah Nintendo is basically um throwing
02:01everything at the screen and I will say visually it's really awesome I think the animators are doing
02:09their job at the best possible level you can see the charm the smiles the the even the acting and
02:17the
02:17characters eyes as they go from sad to filled with hope to um you know action scenes are cool and
02:27and
02:27awesome and everything seems to be working um at surface level but I just wish that the the story
02:36the jokes and the characterization was there to support it and I get that this is I don't know
02:43you know I feel like is this a universal pictures thing is this an illumination thing but honestly when I
02:51watch the illumination you know the little minions uh films I laugh I laugh a lot and in this film
03:00um it only made me laugh once it made me and Joe laugh once at the end and I just
03:06wish that there was
03:07more emotion going on and so it's much like the first film it goes a mile a minute it's just

03:15hey here's this next here's the thing hey do you remember this hey do you remember that hey do you
03:18remember this and I was like damn it after such a great start where they were taking their time with
03:24the characters essentially Yoshi is introduced here and he has nothing to do we just we just go on he
03:32was the tease in the first film so I thought oh he's going to New York we're going to get
03:36this we're
03:37going to get some cool shit with Yoshi's story his backstory nada none of that in fact I don't even
03:43think they write well they write Yoshi one time and you know I just felt if you're a Yoshi fan
03:49yes he's
03:50cute yes he's got an adorable voice but he just thrown in here he's one of the pack and then
03:56I don't know if I should spoil it but there's a there's a it seems as if Nintendo is just
04:01throwing
04:01every single character they have into these films so there's crossovers with a bunch of other characters
04:08um and you know it's cool to see them but it's like yeah but I'd rather you take him serious
04:14or I'd rather him get his own spinoff film let me just say it Star Fox okay Star Fox is
04:20in the film
04:21and he plays a part barely in the film Donkey Kong not here uh it says if he never even
04:29existed not
04:29here he didn't even do anything once yes guess you didn't uh I guess they didn't want to pay uh
04:34you
04:35know for the voice actor for for him um and uh it took 40 minutes for Jack Black to show
04:41up as a Bowser
04:42I was interested in what they were going to do with Bowser here and then again drop that plot line
04:49completely right back to you know uh standard fare and uh yeah and so unfortunately as much as I wanted
04:58to come out and say because in our first review I was like maybe the sequel's gonna be better maybe
05:02the sequel is gonna be a little different they're gonna focus on the characters while they do a little
05:08bit I actually like the characters here more I like the characters I like the cute little uh stars
05:15these little adorable children um and I'm happy that the Mario Brothers get to spend more time together
05:23uh Luigi and Mario but ultimately it still doesn't feel like a satisfying story it feels like
05:31member berries the movie at a thousand miles a minute and maybe this is just what works these
05:38days I mean we've seen this kind of pacing and a little bit in Superman we've seen it a little
05:42bit
05:42in Minecraft the movie and of course in the first Mario film a lot of money and these things are
05:48making
05:49money so I don't know that's my initial opinion on a Super Mario Galaxy movie so if you want to
05:56downvote us up front again for being those crabby critics that you know are fucking idiots and don't
06:02retards and don't know what they're saying or doing go ahead yeah and there's that excuse it's not
06:06meant for you it's like yeah it can be though like because they're like the parents have to go watch
06:11the movie it's like hey this is a good message this is feel good it's a feel good for everyone
06:15but this again was not like you said mile a minute this plots that I did want to focus on
06:20they dropped it real quick and to reiterate what you said I wanted some more of the Yoshi stuff
06:27because they teased in the first one I was like okay it'll be pretty cool and they're like oh well
06:31he's here and he's part of the gang like we've known him it's like but I didn't get to spend
06:35that
06:36much time and you don't really get to spend that much time with the characters so you don't really
06:39feel for them a lot and again it has no like a heart like the first one it's just like
06:45moving to
06:47point A to point B just because we need to throw out some jokes a lot of them didn't work
06:53there was
06:53a couple good ones I did like Star Fox stuff but it was pretty short yeah and it's just Star
07:00Fox it
07:00doesn't bring his cast of lovable characters with him yeah and then Bowser he his situation was kind
07:08of dealt with pretty quick I thought they were gonna linger on that a little bit more because he does
07:13kind of I feel bad but then he's like meh that's fine mm-hmm he seems like he's a rehabilitated
07:18Bowser kind of thing yeah then they dropped this plot line pretty quick dropped so many things that
07:23I was kind of interested in and then they just like start jam-packing things and there's like just so
07:28you could be like oh look shiny thing shiny thing the world doesn't feel real to me you know what

07:33mean like I try to get into the world and universe here you know Sega with Sonic it feels real
07:40it feels
07:41like oh this shit makes sense okay Robotnik makes makes interesting things yeah and these things
07:46are based in somewhat reality I know it's crazy to say that right but then here it's just like you
07:52just press this and then and then you get this power and then you're then then but it's like I
07:56get it
07:56from the video games and a lot of it is but I want these things set up individually on the
08:02mom and
08:03then have that epic moment of triumph but if you're just throwing 17 things out there at once it's like
08:10at any
08:10moment anything can happen and it just doesn't feel grounded I did like obviously the animation is
08:19spot-on it's fucking oh yeah 11 out of 10 yes so 10 out of 10 looks fucking great um
08:27I still like
08:28the cast obviously except for Chris but whatever a Donald Glover did a good job you're not used to
08:34Chris Pratt at this point as Mario I think he does it fine wahoo but but everything else kind of
08:41yeah
08:41yeah yeah it's just Chris Pratt but everything is still good uh but again the story was very paper
08:48thin and I can't even tell Keegan Michael Kay is is I can't even tell his voice they're pretty
08:54definitely alters yeah I like how they switched to uh the pixel art and the um the CGI pretty cool
09:02but there is definitely some different animation style here they do some some paper mache stuff they
09:07do uh the video game stuff they do the illumination animation all this shit is running 10 out of 10
09:14for
09:14me right and then the way the characters look the animation the music I just wish the writing and and
09:24the directing and the focus would be there yeah because again like I didn't feel for Bowser Jr.
09:31or Bowser and their sad moments they were supposed to share like it it feels off something feels off
09:40yeah it has to be the writing or storytelling well I loved it and 10 out of 10 no notes
09:47no I was my
09:47expectations were lower I the first one I didn't think was very good and people didn't like it but
09:51how dare you the first one has a 95 percent audience yeah so does a kid's happy meal but
09:58when you're a when you're a parent you buy your kid a happy meal you know you're not feeding them
10:01something good you're feeding something that will distract them it's got a toy in it and it makes
10:05them happy and quiet for a short period of time but you know it's not good it's you know it
10:10isn't good
10:10and that's what this is this is a happy meal that will make a billion dollars it's not a good
10:15story
10:15it is gorgeous because illumination is super good at what they do yes but like the story isn't in like
10:20we watch some of these movies you go back and you watch the the Shrek movie that came out the
10:25same
10:25year as the Mario movie the last wish like you feel stuff for these characters and kids can enjoy
10:31that and parents can enjoy that that is a good kids movie or they're make as much money was a
10:36failure
10:37no well it made it made some money but like Shrek one is like the one that you know they
10:41always look
10:41back that one everyone can enjoy but writing is hard and so instead of doing writing and emotion
10:48and dialogue we got multiple non-stop rapid fire soulless IP milking where they go from place to
10:56place to place in 10 second little bursts and you're like oh I recognize that I recognize that
11:01I've heard this in the video game I've heard this music before and it's a huge portion of this movie
11:05is just going from scene to scene to scene because there's nothing in this movie but look at the thing
11:10I know it's great for kids if you're one of those people that have to have like jingle keys in
11:14front of
11:14your kids park them in front of this and they're going to be oh you are good this is a
11:18great kids
11:18kids film but also I've seen great kids films that have a good emotional uh pinning and undertone
11:26story this will be successful kids film because I think you're successful that you the kids will
11:31watch it the kids will pay to go see it but I I just don't think that this is going
11:35to be one
11:35that they're going to look back on the way that we can look back on some of the the kids
11:38movies that
11:39we've seen recently and long long long long time ago where you're like Jim this is a great movie
11:45and this is something that I'd want to show to someone else this is something you watch one time
11:48and anytime you watch beyond this you're suffering through because your kid wants to watch it over
11:52and over and over again so happy that I looked it up put some boots the last wish was not
11:55a flop oh thank
11:56god because you know people were ragging on that film because it didn't make all the money in the
12:00universe even though it was a great film it did 480 million worldwide on a 90 million budget yeah I
12:07mean
12:07and then a film like super mario brothers does more than double probably triple that because I
12:11think it's at 1.3 billion make going to 1.4 billion I don't think that this actually I actually
12:18don't
12:18think this film is going to do as well as the first film which is weird because I actually think
12:23this
12:23one is slightly better than the first one yeah so I think it's still going to make a billion it
12:27probably won't make 1.4 billion I think it'll probably just pass a billion and that'll be kind of
12:32where it is but um um yeah I was I was expecting uh a better villain didn't get it uh
12:42you know where
12:43where's my man well no I mean y'all already know this you know waluigi uh wario I guess they're
12:51they're saving that stuff for a third film because all this stuff could definite I mean if you're making
12:57a billion off each film you're we're going to get there eventually yeah um it's just sad to see
13:02this particular franchise treated as a soup just throw everything in there put it all on the screen
13:09we don't have moments of reflection we don't have emotional moments we don't have uh great backstory
13:16now this is the first time in history where they're kind of addressing Peach's origin the first film
13:21kind of did that that was interesting so they expand that a little bit here but not as much as
13:26you're hoping and uh and it just again it doesn't have the emotional resonance as it should as you're
13:32setting it up um and it's it's just visually a freaking treat but it doesn't have the substance
13:42behind it it's cotton candy and uh cotton candy is great for kids um but if you're if you're eating
13:49too much cotton candy eventually you're gonna throw up
13:53and uh I just want it to be something a little bit better and it's a shame because uh like
13:58I said
13:59the the the animation and the talent and I'm good I'm on board with everything here I just wish that
14:06um they took some more time with the story or had have some ambition uh to tell something interesting
14:13outside of let's try to hit every single fucking thing that we have ever put into the video games
14:21and let's bring in fucking what is that video clock and watch you know one of the first little
14:26nintendo things I've got let's we gotta give him his moment we gotta give the pikmin their moment we
14:33gotta do this it's like do you though do you this is mario's world why don't we focus on mario
14:39do we have to cross over you know star fox is the star fox universe in the same universe as
14:45mario
14:45apparently yes it well no he it's a different universe he's stranded joe okay fine he's stranded
14:52all right cool dude he is I hope he gets a a spinoff that's glenn powell clearly they got him

15:00off that that uh you know top gun because they wanted him running man not not fresh off his running
15:06man success it's more like his running man failure but uh now that he's in this another
15:13box office hit for glenn good our boy from the same from uh our school all right honestly I forgot
15:21what
15:21I gave the first one but I I think it's was it four or five I don't remember but this
15:29one
15:31I would say it's still the same whether it was four or five I don't remember what I give the
15:38first
15:38one but I think it's don't worry about it it's the same focus on this one uh it's the same
15:43thing
15:43everything I like the visuals but it had no depth like I wanted an amazing climax or something to
15:54happen to make me feel good but then all of a sudden like we didn't have our lows where
15:59our our heroes are like stranded and then they're at the lowest to try to try to reflect on what's
16:05going on we didn't have any moments like that to to like kind of latch on to a character see
16:11their
16:12the world through their their eyes or whatnot everything was just funny moment funny moment
16:17funny moment but there was a very funny but yeah also yeah a lot of it wasn't funny so it's
16:22like
16:22we're stranded here it's like we're at our lowest but it didn't seem like that they're just like
16:27kind of babies just goofing off some of it was kind of annoying sometimes but yeah
16:36four for me four yeah uh I it's a shame because I there's parts where I'm watching this is like
16:43wow
16:43this is so cool looking and I just was so disappointed while watching these scenes it's
16:48like it's what I'm seeing is gorgeous but what the writing in the scene is just not
16:52there everything is muted like like you said there's no lows in this film like everything is
16:56brought up to the middle and there are no highs in this film everything's dragged back down
17:00so there's no elation there's no there's no sorrow there's no heartbreak there's no anything
17:05where you and there's story here where you would feel heartbreak because something something happens
17:10to characters and then you would feel so happy that they get back together and all this stuff
17:14happens none of that is here like absolutely none of that I mean sometimes you watch these movies
17:19and you're like oh man I'm thinking about getting choked up this nothing absolutely nothing the kids
17:23behind us when they were talking in the film not there was no laughter they were not laughing at
17:27this movie and we see kids movies frequently where everyone is busting up and having a great time yeah
17:32nothing so it's like I don't think they did a good job with this movie and I think that if
17:37you take
17:37your kids to have it you're gonna have a successful outing they're gonna be happy and quiet but you're
17:42gonna know that this isn't a good movie on its own if you're judging this movie based on what the
17:46movie
17:46put out which is what I'm trying to do it's not good it's a I they're squeezing every penny they
17:52can out of the IP by showing you as quick as much things on the screen as they possibly can
17:56I do think
17:57it's better than the last one I think I give the last one a three so I think I think
18:02the last one is
18:03a bad movie yeah and I don't think this one I wouldn't I wouldn't rewatch it yeah and I wouldn't
18:07rewatch this one either and I think this one is slightly better so I'm gonna say this is a four
18:11instead I do think it's a below average I have more fun watching the minions movies there's more
18:16at least silliness and wackiness going on where I can have a good time look we we can be silly
18:21we can
18:21understand so as long as it's funny so as long as it works this just is not doing it the
18:26minions and
18:27monsters trailer was funnier than the entire Mario Mario movie I'm actually excited for that
18:34fucking presence but I'm like happy to hear you say that I'm gonna watch I'm gonna watch all this
18:38shit yeah we're going to minions and monsters yeah well that movie's gonna chop the legs off of
18:42Supergirl so oh I know yeah because it comes out in June it's like four days after I think yeah
18:48so um but yeah so below average uh but you know you're not surprised from me yeah uh I unfortunately
18:56this time I have to agree with critics there's some critics here let's see uh Danahan Klein from
19:01we're watching that all side quests no substance while filled to the brim with references and easter eggs
19:06the sequel somehow even more anemic on the plot front alas a textbook case of preying on your
19:12nostalgia instead of bothering to nourish the intelligence of the fan base that's well put I
19:17mean that's perfectly put that's what I'm trying to say is that you can do both and it seems like
19:25Nintendo illumination Nintendo probably don't have anything to do with it it's illumination it's
19:29Matthew Fogle it's the director team of uh these two gentlemen um Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic
19:39uh that don't seem to care about that part of it so as long as they get as many references
19:46in this is
19:46what the fans want and honestly he's right it made 1.4 billion dollars it had a 95 percent audience

19:57but if you're a movie critic you're going to disagree if you've seen a thousand animated films
20:02you're going to disagree you're you're going to have you're going to be like yeah that's a good one
20:07but how about this one huh and this one isn't one of the ones that you point to it's fine
20:11for younger
20:12audiences but it's going to leave you know adult viewers even teenage viewers the people who grew up
20:18with these licenses licenses wanting for more and wondering what exactly the point was if the point
20:25was to get as many things in there as possible and for it to be a visual splendor you got
20:30it
20:30but I just wanted more you can be successful and popular and not good you just have to look at
20:35the
20:36Kardashians and like I said the Happy Meal and stuff like that like you like hey this is trash like
20:40this
20:40is not good and then but it's like oh but people like it it's like okay cool I'm glad yeah
20:45and people
20:46like the fucking Five Nights at Freddy's films as well and again that you know not good horror not good
20:52video game adaptions and uh just kind of unfortunately a disappointment and I hate to be
20:59the fucking you know contrarian or the uh you know stuck up movie critic but we're trying to
21:05explain exactly why we go to the movies you want to see a good movie all right if we're going
21:11I want
21:12it to be good it's not like I don't want it to be good but it is it comes from
21:18more that that idea
21:19of let's exploit this license to maximum potential rather than let's tell this really well thought
21:25out story that makes you feel for all of the characters um there's the tropes in there there's
21:32you know the brothers the family um friends but none of it hits any hard and I think it's because
21:41when
21:42you're spending 10 minutes in each world and in within those 10 minutes you have two minutes to
21:48give Mario and Luigi his frog outfit Mario his drill outfit you know you're going things a mile a minute
21:55and it's like okay yeah but where'd he get that why didn't he just bring it at the beginning what
21:59you know where does this universe how does this universe okay it doesn't matter none of it matters
22:02none of it matters honestly none of it matters like the main plot was Bowser and Bowser Jr so I
22:08thought
22:08that we were going to get some more emotional moments and some more heartfelt scenes with them
22:12too yeah is it going no it's on okay yeah just like with those two like we'll get some more
22:17scenes
22:17try to get some bond going on and see what's going on like at the end they'll learn to be
22:25batteries
22:25like I wasn't there for him and now he's looking for me it's like okay so at the end of
22:29this film
22:30Joe what did the characters learn absolutely nothing nothing not a goddamn thing Bowser didn't learn
22:37nothing Martin didn't learn nothing I guess family reunion I guess uh uh peach learned a little bit
22:44more about where where she comes from she remembered yeah you remembered yeah she remembered but that's
22:50it Bowser and Bowser Jr yeah okay all right yeah anyways all right so that's gonna be it for us

23:21hey guys welcome to the spoilers discussion I think um you know I like the film more because I like
23:28more of these characters I like Star Fox uh you know Donkey Kong's not in it I I thought Seth
23:34Rogen
23:34was weird choice for Donkey Kong once you see in one time you see he's in Brooklyn and they're throwing
23:42barrel he's throwing barrels at people and like yeah one second scene that's the one yeah that's he's not
23:46in it apparently people were saying what Wario was in the first film no he's not I mean they say
23:54when
23:54Luigi has his flashback and they're building the castle you know there's this blonde kid that comes
24:00over and knocks it that's supposed to be Wario it's like yeah but that could be anybody you know
24:04Nintendo could just you know say it's anybody but uh um yeah so I really like I said I really
24:14like
24:14the opening of this film it starts on this star castle with a bunch of star children and she's the
24:21mother of the stars Rosalina and she's got the powers of star power galaxy cosmic power and
24:30Bowser Jr's uh you know shows up in a big ass machine and then we get our girl boss moment
24:37it's
24:38badass it works it's fine and she protects her little cute these fucking stars are so cute I just watch
24:44these guys all day long um unfortunately because she wants to you know they do the trophy thing where
24:49she's distracted for a second because one of her kids comes out and then she gets captured and then
24:54the kids are like oh no and that's and then we get the title crawl and I'm like okay all
25:00right there
25:01we go good setup you're building the world out so you know it's who is this princess she seems somehow
25:07linked to peach with a similar look and uh and then we got those cute stars that we saw at
25:12the beginning
25:12and then as it goes along um I think you know we get the brothers together and the brothers are
25:19having fun they're driving their fucking motorcycles and shit and they're just having a great time
25:23but I think at at a certain point it was maybe when we got to Yoshi and they reveal hey
25:32you remember
25:32how we teased Yoshi last time and he's in New York and his egg cracks yeah we're not doing none
25:37of that
25:38shit you know he's already part of the gang so get you yeah and then he so they they spend
25:42like five
25:43minutes less than that two minutes doing this montage of him just hanging out in New York which was funny
25:48uh but then all of a sudden he's just boom he's a part of the group and uh I just
25:54I don't know I was
25:54hoping for a little bit more with Yoshi yeah and he's just not really there not really sure why but
26:00he just
26:01gotta put some kind of tension I guess just because I don't like you maybe it was a montage of
26:07him
26:07fucking with him or something that would have been funny something else maybe he he's the first one to
26:12get eaten by Yoshi and turned into an egg and he's traumatized by that so you know give him a
26:19reason
26:19but there's no reason uh of any of this um but yeah so the um I don't know the what
26:26what world is this
26:27the the fucking the the Mexican world I can say that okay I'm half Mexican all right so that's it
26:36um he shows up and they they unclog uh the thing that's where they found Yoshi it's like but what
26:43is
26:43he doing here because he's supposed to be in New York oh well he got scared and the police went
26:48after
26:48him when he went into a um museum guys we could literally break down this plot and you can get
26:5810
26:58episodes in a fucking tv series and each one could be fucking awesome you remember the fucking the
27:05super mario brothers variety hour whatever they call it with the two brothers that's funny the live
27:11action one um you know shit it's it it felt a little bit like that sometimes just because it's
27:18going a fucking mile a minute um what else they rescue Yoshi they get back to the mushroom kingdom
27:26and it's peach's birthday yep uh mario gives her he's in love there's a subplot yeah subplot with
27:34hey you like her yeah uh and where does that go it doesn't go anywhere it's there it's like so
27:39the
27:39she gives him a kiss at the end didn't she do that in the first film i don't know yeah
27:43he gives
27:44her her umbrella uh but then shooting stars start showing up and then a star crash lands and she's
27:50like hey my mom got kidnapped you she said if anything ever happened to her to come find you
27:55and thus starts the adventure she leaves with toad just toad now so that means that rosalina has
28:03been separated from peach forever she never fucking checks in on her she sees it she was scared
28:09she watches it from a distance why because their powers combined is too dangerous and people would
28:14seek out that power hand wave hand wave is what they explain stupid all right when they touch hands
28:21they have the uh the power of the universe um yeah and uh Yoshi and Luigi are immediate best friends
28:31and they're making fun of mario because he's got feelings for peach and he doesn't want to admit it
28:36and uh yeah so luma basically asked for peach's help and the toads are like no uh don't help and
28:45they don't listen the peach goes to help immediately she asked toad to go with her and and i think
28:52i guess
28:53right here is where things fall apart because it's like okay so it's like we got the mission we got
28:58the
28:58mission we set it up all nice but then the whole fucking it's span one world another world for 10
29:06minutes yeah i hate that you have the team but you guys it's like there's no fucking plan things just
29:11happen to them and then they'll trip and they'll do and then that the trip turns into a whole storyline
29:17and then this and then we all you did we fell into another world this world has a tyrannosaurus rex
29:23and
29:23and now we're running from the tyrannosaurus rex and then and then the babies and then the babies go in
29:28the
29:28mouth and then this and then and then uh the the princess's peach's castle is captured uh by the
29:34fucking spaceship and then the spaceship lifts off with this princess peach castle but then uh they have a
29:40fight on the fucking ship and then the fucking uh the fucking boss slams into the spaceship which lets go
29:47of the
29:47princess peach castle which then the princess peach castle just falls throughout the universe
29:51and then it falls on a random world and we don't know what this world is but the boys fall
29:56with it
29:57and then the boys are running from the castle and then the castle is falling and then we have an
30:00action scene promedia style we got we're running from the castle and then the castle stops and the
30:05boys are like whoo everything's fine but then the castle continues to fall and then we
30:11that is that that i mean that's everything it's like yeah but are we gonna go to save the princess
30:18we're gonna not yet let's focus on it just shit is just fucking wild and it's crazy and i guess
30:24some people you know like that but and i like it too but uh not non-stop for an hour
30:33and 30 minutes
30:33you you gotta have some semblance you you gotta have some slow down moments you have to have some
30:41focus and it's not focused it's a your add has add and somebody gave you the magic pencil and you're
30:48just writing the whole plot as it goes along
30:53cheap pretty much yeah and then they meet up at this um international yeah this galaxy this galaxy
31:00where there's even more i mean it's non-stop because this is the place where all of the universe is
31:04combined and all the galaxies it's all they're like hey you remember that from the 80s it's like
31:09no one i mean you have to be over 40 years old to know what the fuck that is it's

31:18uh they need a pilot and so starfox is the only one who will take them to the dangerous place

31:24then they go on their adventure and starfox kind of a badass like we kind of get the the the
31:29scene i
31:30think it was jupiter or the asteroid belt level and starfox 64 like that and he was able to you
31:35know he's cool scenes he blows up their um they're their big spaceship pretty easily but then
31:41jep boundary bowser jr pulls out a secret weapon the gun that turns them into babies
31:47and it's the babies that thwart starfox's ship that's where they crash land that's where they
31:54have the tyrannosaurus thing which is here is where you needed to have well they had they had the jokes
32:01with the babies but here is where they're supposed to be their lowest this is where you need time to
32:06breathe oh three-act structure you know with with the conflict and exactly or something but no it's
32:11like no we just have these babies he's like oh we'll toad take care of them and he finds himself

32:16some shenanigans the mario brothers are climbing on top of a t-rex and then he's playing the mario
32:24theme song on his fucking teeth would you remember the can't wake him up the animaniacs cartoon where

34:03yes are they flying through what happened so somebody give me when peach went yes yeah so when those when
34:09the star went he's like hey they were captured and sent beyond the gateway galaxy so that's the only
34:14that's the anchor point that's the only okay rob rob said to go to the gateway galaxy right
34:21because they're like there it is he's he's pointing him to uh pilots yeah pilots okay well anyways uh
34:28bowser is uh reunited with his son and you can tell that bowser does care about his son they do
34:36some
34:36flashbacks where he was basically raising his son with this story of galactic domination and
34:42and killing other civilizations and and having a big fucking gun and having planet bowser because
34:48everybody made fun of them and they you know they felt like shit uh but so when his son grew
34:53up i don't
34:55know how this world works like how does he like they have the best technology the the craziest weapons
35:00it's like why do none of these other universes go all right guys well okay no let's not think about
35:07yeah let's not think about logic okay so these people can conquer other people at any time
35:13um then he realizes his son is a kind of a maniacal maniac guy but at the same time you
35:20know because
35:20he's sort of reformed he's been through therapy when he's hanging out with i guess the boys and he
35:25kind of likes he likes luigi kind of likes mario kind of has a grudge against him but thinks they're
35:33all right guys and i thought this was going to be cool i thought he was going to be able
35:37to
35:37reform his son and they were going to bond over that and bond over like you know just being cool
35:43and you know there are other villains in the in the star super mario world that you can bring that
35:49bowser could fight with them he could be the vegeta of the universe but no they decide that he's like
35:57ah yeah they fuck them let's let's beat them up wait what but yeah because they brainwashed your
36:04father and he gives this weak speech and i didn't think he bought it you know i thought oh that's
36:09a
36:10temporary mandate he's going to follow him for a little bit and then later on he's going to notice
36:13that we are literally torturing and killing a woman to power a beam that will destroy galaxies
36:22and you know he shows emotion throughout the whole film and then all of a sudden it's gone
36:28and it doesn't make any sense it's not a cool turn it'd be too complex joe have to be simple
36:32yeah because i was hoping for a team up with bowser and they're going to try to stop it that
36:38would have been awesome super mario rpg yeah that would fuck yeah i think that would have been better
36:42and instead no we get the worst version of bowser he just goes back to his normal ways
36:48he turns into a minion for his son uh has a fight at the end falls in lava doesn't even
36:54have the
36:55fucking uh you know respect to do the the terminator thing because they've done they've
37:01referenced everything already uh so he falls in the lava and dies but then he comes up as bones
37:08oh yeah oh yeah you know it's oh i've seen that before and then you know his son's like yeah
37:13and
37:14then they fight and um and i guess we do get a small turn here where the son is using
37:19his powerful
37:20paintbrush which is never explained unless you play the games you don't know what the fuck is going on
37:25uh are we going to talk about this are we going to take it away from him or whatever but
37:29he creates a
37:30fucking dragon at first i'm like okay are we doing spyro now are they making a wreck because we're
37:35referencing everything oh yeah the super mario for a time had to go up against spyro and he's getting
37:40his ass kicked because spyro is selling a lot of money i don't know no it's just a purple dragon
37:45that it looks similar but instead of attacking the the the mario brothers and yoshi he attacks browser
37:53junior and so they have to you know uh team up a little bit and uh mario just says mario
38:01just grabs
38:02the most powerful power up that was in his pocket it's supposed to be random though okay well then he
38:06he randomly grabs it and then the most powerful one and then he explodes to the dragon and saves
38:10him and then you think there would be some like heartfelt thing thank you for saving my son
38:13yeah you know i'm sorry nothing absolutely nothing all of these moments are teed up and they could
38:19have done any one of them and then they decided to do none of them they choose the lowest common
38:24denominator where it's like oh now they're a son father son criminal duo and they're in prison like
38:30you know like an old school bumbling lex luther and lenny and they're like oh these prison can't hold
38:36us yeah it's an advocate man credits great that sucks the sisters get reunited because it turns out
38:47that uh they're sisters and um you think that there would be it'd be cool and they'd be like oh

38:53you so much i've always been watching you but i know it's too late no none of that um they
38:58have all these
38:59like none of this stuff comes together in a cool way how did the lumas get over into the final

39:06luigi accidentally turned on a radio
39:11that like that's it there's it and then and just because the accident they get the radio signal
39:17then they come one of the lumas is like luigi and then they and then
39:25so then the observatory comes over and then everybody's excited and happy and then peach
39:29goes into this room where she discovers her origins and she had just forgot and uh baby she's a baby
39:37and um yeah and so then they they they go home and then we have this one good moment they
39:46like
39:46we do have they go back home then they just oh yeah yeah so you're saying after they win
39:51absolutely yeah after they win and the defeat of bad guys and everything blows up
39:55yeah they go back home they're like yeah let's go to the castle they're sitting there
39:59and previously the castle was like lifted so just a big crater thrown in the honeybee kingdom
40:05what what happened okay louisius like it died because oh yeah the castle died
40:14and it was a line delivery it made me and joe laugh
40:17and i went over to joe's like one they got one
40:20i gave it that
40:21but what's at the end of the film
40:23where it just randomly goes the castle died
40:26the castle died the castle was alive
40:30so then they randomly make a new castle

42:39which turns him into

42:41i personally like this form
42:43because he's red and black
42:44and he's super saiyan
42:46and i'm like oh is this

42:50the mario galaxy's version of uh supersonic
42:54you know how they're always doing that
42:56in in that world
42:56so nintendo sees that

43:02if these two ever fight so here's here's his version

43:08everything is done very quickly
