00:00This is going to be a topic of debate, but I think the Harry Potter series will eclipse the films in terms of adaptation.
00:04Anything.
00:05Because it has the potential to become the best novel adaptation ever produced.
00:08And we can see that right from the trailer.
00:10For example, here we see the letters Harry receives to go to Hogwarts.
00:13They could have simply shown the letter, but they went much further.
00:16Because in the book, we are told that when Harry collects the mail, there are three letters.
00:20A postcard from the margins of Uncle Vernon's sister,
00:22a kraft paper envelope that must have been an invoice,
00:25and a letter for Harry.
00:26They even went so far as to choose the exact same type of paper for the envelope to match the material of
00:30base.
00:31And that's how it is throughout the entire trailer.
00:32The attention to detail is simply astounding.
00:34There, we see Harry's cupboard, but we also see the coat hanger that the Dursleys gave him for
00:38its tenth anniversary.
00:39Here, Harry running in the corridors is because hunting Harry is his favorite sport.
00:43Dudley and his gang.
00:44Aunt Petunia cutting Harry's hair is because that passage is in the book.
00:48One day, Aunt Petunia, tired of seeing Harry come out of the hairdresser's looking the same as if he
00:51had not gone at all,
00:52had taken a pair of large scissors and cut his hair so short that he had become
00:56almost bald.
00:57Here, we're not just seeing a classroom.
00:59We see Professor Beans's, which we didn't see in the films, and who is the only professor
01:03ghost of Hogwarts.
01:04And here, we finally see an image of Professor Dumbledore.
01:07And in his hand, it's a tuning fork, because the first time Harry hears about the headmaster,
01:10It is by reading his Chocou Grenouille card, on which we learn the professor's favorite pastimes
01:14Dumbledore
01:15bowling and chamber music are.
01:17And a tuning fork is precisely what's used to tune instruments.
01:19But the best scene is this one with the snowball fight.
01:22Because in the book, the only time we hear about a snowball,
01:25This is when Fred and Georges are punished for having enchanted them.
01:27so that it would crash onto Professor Quirrell's turban.
01:30And knowing what's under that turban, I really want to see it.
01:32In short, long live my Christmas, 2026.
