00:05Princess Daisy is officially part of the Mario movie universe, and that reveal, well, yeah,
00:13it kind of has me slightly worried. So let's start with what I like. Daisy's character model
00:19is perfect. She fits perfectly alongside the likes of Peach and Rosalina in these movies.
00:25Yeah, it's all unique enough to capture her personality. She's a little bit more rough
00:30and ready and she's got that mischievous smirk that really fits the fan perception of her.
00:35But why am I hesitant? Look, look, I know Daisy has a massive fandom and you've wanted Nintendo
00:42to use her for years, but another princess storyline for the third movie? I mean, the end credit
00:48is definitely setting her up as a heavy hitter for the third movie, but I just worry we're
00:53going to get a repeat story for the third time. I was really hoping for a shakeup. I mean,
00:58I did think Wario was unlikely and Smash Bros was a little premature, but come on, can they
01:04at least give us someone like Cappy? Maybe I wanted a little bit too much from Illumination,
01:08which is famously a very play-and-safe studio. I do see a way out of the Princess in Distress
01:14loop, but we probably have to make it past Mario Movie 3 first. I do kind of think that introducing
01:19Daisy makes a Luigi's Mansion movie a lot more likely. You're going to get to the point where
01:23you've set up enough characters that Luigi, Daisy and Toad could all go and have a side
01:27Avenger and do that.
