00:14:26The home that I lived in until I was five my childhood best friend's homes
00:14:38It was a really it's been a really hard time seeing the town that I grew up in completely gone
00:14:47After the fires it was really hard to just find joy in the little things, but it's taught me a
00:14:52lot
00:14:52It's taught me when everyone comes together. It's can be so strong. Well, sorry for all of that

00:28:37And I would hate the person that I saw in the mirror

00:43:14went church to church and sang at churches i grew up in a super musical family my dad worked at

00:43:22mine for several years one evening he was just feeling like god was calling him to do something
00:43:26different with this life so in 2009 my parents quit their jobs and we bought a bus and we went
00:43:31on the
00:43:31road as a family band the tour bus was 40 foot long it was bright red and we lived on
00:43:39the bus for
00:43:40seven years we just would go coast to coast and play banjos and sing for the lord it was a
00:43:46very
00:43:46unconventional upbringing but i literally wouldn't trade it for anything in the world we didn't come
00:44:00back into missouri until 2016. we settled back down and then i met my husband we got married and we
00:44:05found
00:44:06out we were pregnant with our first baby like four months after we got married every morning oh right
00:44:11in the noggin i'm sorry buddy then one turn to three really fast with three boys it comes a lot
00:44:17of
00:44:17chaos and a lot of fun sorry why are you standing up there
00:44:29it's just hectic at all times
00:44:35let's eat some pizza and then you can go take a nap

00:45:12one and shortly after he was born i had postpartum depression and so i was sitting on my couch i

00:45:17i wasn't gonna cry i was sitting on my couch wallowing
00:45:24and you have boys you know everybody wants to touch you and i didn't want to be touched
00:45:31and my youngest son like i was just having a pity party praying that the lord would calm nice call
00:45:38my spirit and my son kept coming up to me he said mom open this mom open this open my
00:45:44cheese i'm like
00:45:44do you leave me alone with the dadgum cheese and i finally opened his cheese and when i did i
00:45:48realized
00:45:49that god had put me in that place and that where i was in my house was the biggest ministry
00:45:53that i could
00:45:53ever have and being a mom so i gathered myself and i got up off the couch and i quit
00:46:01throwing a pity
00:46:01party and i realized that that was exactly what i wanted and i kind of kicked the postpartum depression
00:46:08in the butt and i said i ain't doing it there you go so i wrote this song called string

00:46:19it i i can't i can't cry and sing so i don't i don't want to put you in that

00:48:23when i'm overwhelmed and touched out they come climbing up on the couch saying mama can you open my
00:48:34strange cheeks i smile because i know meeting their needs fills my soul being there mama is who i'm meant

01:04:38then i found out that i have a congenital issue my legs are naturally in the wrong position

01:04:53that put a stop to the dreams of becoming an athlete
01:04:58it was tough seeing everybody be able to get to do what i wanted to do

01:18:57There's something happening with me
01:18:59I mean it's a knife to your chest
01:19:02Because you're thinking
01:19:04You know what's going on? What's happening? And he said I'm sad all the time
01:19:11For me anxiety is just like a big wave crashing on you and you just drown
01:19:19I was pushing the value of my life
01:19:24You have to look in the mirror and recognize that mental health professionals need to get involved
01:19:31And that there's no shame in that
01:19:39Music is my lifeline. It's what keeps me grounded
01:19:45I had so much to smile about with my audition
01:19:48And I just knew like I really regret it if I didn't give this another shot
01:19:52I'm just hoping that whatever I'm doing just reflects the message of just not giving up
01:19:58And most importantly to not be defined by your struggles, but by your strengths
