00:00Previously on, Seven Little Johnstons.
00:03Hello.
00:04How are you?
00:05Good.
00:05How are you?
00:06It's been way too long.
00:08I would love for you guys to be my bridesmaid.
00:12I say yes.
00:14Yes.
00:14We say yes to being bridesmaid.
00:18We have been showing for 13 years.
00:21Wow.
00:21So Allie's family always goes to this county fair
00:25at the end of the summer.
00:26And this will be my first time joining their family.
00:29Allie's mom told me that there is like none other.
00:35Where is your arches going to be?
00:37On top of the hill.
00:38On top of the hill.
00:39OK.
00:39Oh.
00:40Really?
00:40How about you building a platform?
00:43No.
00:43I remember you telling me that you just
00:45want to build a platform to put the arches on.
00:48Daddy, you said platform.
00:50We are realizing that wedding planning is crazy.
00:55I say we walk back up to the house
00:56because the longer we stay down here,
00:57the longer dad's list gets.
01:08Oh, baby.
01:09High field.
01:10You take a little trip with me.
01:12I'll show you how to live.
01:13I like my trucks up high.
01:15My cars down low.
01:16We ain't rushing for nobody.
01:18We gonna take things slow.
01:31I go to the pack box.
01:36This weekend, me and my mom are all visiting my girlfriend,
01:40Allie, in Ohio.
01:41That is over there by the hill.
01:45All right.
01:45So how do we do this, Allie?
01:46Pull this.
01:49This is my first time visiting Allie and her family in Ohio.
01:54And we picked a great time because it is the Butler County Fair.
01:59Yeah.
02:01Okay.
02:02Start at the legs.
02:03Listen to her.
02:04Legs.
02:05So, you know, this is not a vacation.
02:08This is fair week.
02:09And during fair week, you do a lot of work.
02:14You wash pigs.
02:15You wash goats.
02:16You wash sheep.
02:17You wash cows.
02:18Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait.
02:20You gotta wait.
02:23Emma, you're like a natural at this.
02:25Stop.
02:26I think you should show in the open class.
02:27Oh.
02:29Yeah.
02:30Emma!
02:32Well, until I said something.
02:33I was trying to get the goat on the stand, but it was just walking me instead of me walking
02:38it.
02:39Oh, yeah.
02:40You have to be in control.
02:41I'm trying to control it.
02:45Come on.
02:47Can you pick up the...
02:52How's the goat washing going?
02:53Nope.
02:54Good?
02:55Good?
02:55Yeah.
02:56Are they being tame and in control?
02:58Um, yeah.
02:59Overall, they're being very good.
03:00She's got good goats.
03:01Good.
03:02Yeah.
03:02Not right now, but maybe later we can chat a little bit about the kids.
03:08Yeah, I'd love it.
03:09Um, you know, now is not the best time, but I did let Karen know that, you know, I'd like
03:15to have a little chat later about Alex moving up here.
03:19Yeah.
03:19We've got the rest of the day.
03:20We can, um, maybe by making dinner, you can come back.
03:22Yeah, that'll work.
03:23Yes.
03:24I'm a little nervous about how it may go, but, um, you know, I just hope that we're on
03:29the same page.
03:44Hi, Dad.
03:46Hi.
03:48You said that planter was tall and it needs cut down?
03:51Yeah, so before I bring Leighton out, I'm gonna let you cut the legs off.
03:54Elizabeth hasn't been a little person very long, so she hasn't learned all the way to,
03:59like, read all the descriptions and the dimensions before you push, before you click purchase.
04:04I thought it looked smaller and shorter in person.
04:13Nice.
04:17Ever since Elizabeth, Bryce, and Leighton have moved out and they are settled into their own
04:22home now, um, we still see them probably at least three, four times a week.
04:29Whoa.
04:30Look what that looks good.
04:34We gotta mix up all the seeds, though.
04:37Look, Leighton.
04:39We have so many butterflies coming out.
04:41That's the third one over there.
04:43Oh.
04:44All right.
04:45Fair game.
04:45That's the elephant.
04:48You missing Mom yet?
04:50Yeah, I do.
04:52I'm glad you finally came over.
04:54I was about to text you and be like, let's do dinner.
04:56I'm not one of those dads or one of those husbands that, like, love it when everybody's gone.
05:00I'm not.
05:00No, I'm not either.
05:01Me and Mom definitely aren't like that.
05:03Y'all see how I am when I just go three hours without Leighton.
05:06Leighton.
05:06What?
05:07You wanna get your hands dirty?
05:08Look, Leighton.
05:09Look in here.
05:11Get it.
05:13I think it's important for Mom to go up there and visit Allie's family and the farm.
05:18Mm-hmm.
05:19I mean, not just that, the area.
05:21Ohio.
05:23If it's suitable for Alex, she thinks.
05:24Yeah.
05:25So this past year, Alex has started to express his feelings and his thoughts about moving
05:31to Ohio when he is finished with college.
05:34I don't think that's a bad idea.
05:36However, our home and our family and Georgia is all Alex has ever known.
05:46Oh, are you liking it?
05:48You got dirt.
05:49Did you just eat dirt?
05:51Huh?
05:51You got dirt on your nose.
05:53What do you think about Alex being in Ohio?
05:55I mean, I honestly thought it was gonna be Emma to be the one to move out.
06:00I thought Jonah, the boys were gonna stay.
06:02What?
06:02Emma's...
06:03Emma likes home.
06:04Yeah.
06:04Yeah.
06:05Now seeing that though, because especially now with Leighton, she ain't ever gonna wanna
06:07leave Leighton.
06:12One thing you and I need to do is we need to talk about the wedding arch that we wanna
06:17do.
06:18Yes, absolutely.
06:18When Elizabeth and Bryce decided to get married at our home in the field, Elizabeth and I looked
06:25at ideas of wedding arches.
06:28And we have landed and chosen one specific idea of the type of arch that I have planned
06:34on building.
06:36We definitely can't do it too soon.
06:39And Yellow Pine will mildew very quickly.
06:42Yeah.
06:43Get those black spots on it.
06:44And we should have all this ready to go by like the first week in October, have everything,
06:48all that ready to go.
06:50After meeting with the wedding planner last week, there are so many projects on this
06:56list that need to be done.
06:57And with the wedding being November 8th, we really have to haul ass to get everything
07:01started soon.
07:02Here, you can come on inside and get something to drink.
07:18So like, how do you like wake it up if it's like sleeping like this?
07:22I just like tap on it.
07:24So this afternoon, Ally is gonna teach me how to show my first pig at the county fair.
07:29So how do you get, how would you get to like turn around in this pen and you just whip
07:32it
07:33in the opposite direction?
07:36Okay.
07:37Ally has been showing animals since she was like seven or eight years old.
07:41And since she just graduated high school, this would be her last year showing animals.
07:46I see.
07:47Yeah.
07:47I see what you mean.
07:48Yeah.
07:50I decided to show a pig this year at fair because Ally is passionate about.
07:55So I thought I would do it to support her.
07:57It's in the open class.
07:58So anybody can show.
08:00Is that fine, Ally?
08:01Yeah.
08:01Okay.
08:04No, I would have never imagined Alex getting down and dirty showing pigs.
08:07He was our kid that loved to stay clean.
08:11Like he was our kid that brushed his teeth more than two times a day.
08:14If we said we can prepare for a wedding.
08:16I want to go back inside.
08:19Golly.
08:21He does enjoy playing outside, but once we get scorching hot and the humidity's high,
08:25Nope.
08:26No more Alex.
08:28I hate this game!
08:32So, say the judge is like in the middle like right there.
08:36But what I'll always want to do now when I come out, I want to like take the judge or
08:41take the pig like this way.
08:43Judge always needs to see the pig.
08:45OK.
08:45So keep the pig between me and the judge, basically?
08:47Yeah.
08:48OK.
08:48So never be between the pig and the judge.
08:50So never be between the pig and the judge.
08:51Got it.
08:57If you want the pig to turn left,
09:00tap the pig on the right shoulder.
09:04And if you want the pig to turn right,
09:06tap the pig on the left shoulder.
09:07So like, the correct way to use the pig whip,
09:10you're not really supposed to like whip them, per se.
09:12You're just supposed to like tap them like around their faces
09:15just to guide them in the right direction.
09:19Is that making sense for the pig?
09:21Yeah.
09:21Like when you want them to turn, tap on its shoulders.
09:26And it's not easy as it looks.
09:29Let me say that.
09:31I am the only LP at this county fair.
09:34Yeah.
09:34It is harder for me, obviously.
09:36Right.
09:37Because I want to be like the other people,
09:40like the other showman.
09:42If you've noticed, when they show it,
09:45they like lean down.
09:47Yeah, I've noticed that.
09:48And I'm going to do that, but I obviously can't.
09:50And also my pigs aren't slow.
09:53They walk fast.
09:55Yeah.
09:55But fast walking and little legs,
09:57that does not make the best combination.
09:58No, it doesn't.
09:59I can speak on that one.
10:00All right.
10:01I'll just stand here and give you pointers.
10:05There we go.
10:08So even though I'm just showing this pig for fun,
10:11I still don't want to embarrass myself in front of the whole county.
10:14And don't be scared of the pig, too.
10:16I'm not scared of pigs.
10:20I don't know if I can do this.
10:32While Amber, Emma, and Alex are out in Ohio,
10:34I thought it would be a great time for the guys
10:38to go out and have a guy day.
10:41Bryce, you go first.
10:42I'll go first.
10:43Lead the way.
10:43OK.
10:44All right, go for it.
10:48Ski shooting is when we ski, we shoot these.
10:56They send these clay discs flying up in the air,
10:59and they try to shoot them.
11:01Oh, damn.
11:06What kind of guns do we use for ski shooting?
11:10Shotguns.
11:11Good job.
11:12Grits.
11:13Grits, grits, grits.
11:14I have grits at home.
11:15You know what grits are?
11:16Girls raised in the South.
11:23One, one, and zero.
11:25We're going to have to come up with a wager here
11:26in a little while.
11:27A challenge.
11:29All right.
11:30So we all agreed that whoever the loser is
11:33has to run through the woods
11:34while we shoot them with paintball guns.
11:38Pull.
11:42All right, pull.
11:45When shooting shotguns,
11:47people often wonder if we have to adapt our shotguns.
11:50And we do.
11:52This would be Bryce's shotgun,
11:54this would be my shotgun,
11:55and this would be Jonah's shotgun.
11:57Jonah still shoots a youth model shotgun.
12:00Pull.
12:03All right, pull.
12:08There you go.
12:09Nailed that one.
12:10Pull.
12:15All right, pull.
12:19I mean, we suck worse than a shot back.
12:22You know, it sounds really good when you come home
12:24and say, hey, babe, I hit 15, your dad hit 14,
12:27and your brother hit nine.
12:29How many did you shoot?
12:3050.
12:30So you missed 36?
12:32Yeah.
12:33Huh.
12:33Sounds like you wasted some money.
12:36Yeah, I mean, really.
12:37You look at it that way.
12:38Good game.
12:40Good match.
12:42Clearly, I'm the loser.
12:44I'll get a consequence later on.
12:46OK.
12:47Let's get our shot, guys.
12:48The only true winners today are those clay skeets
12:52that are sitting out there in the tall grass
12:54that they're going to be able to go pick up
12:55and put back in the throwers.
12:57OK.
12:58They're the ones who won because they got away from us.
13:00That was fun.
13:02Yeah.
13:02Good two hours.
13:04I'd say.
13:16Cane game.
13:17Cane game.
13:20Oh.
13:22Oh, I got one.
13:23Oh, Alex, did you get one?
13:24Yeah, I got one.
13:25Woo-hoo!
13:27Here you go.
13:29Here, you want me to hold it?
13:30So you can keep throwing?
13:31There are two sides to the county fair.
13:33The fair side consists of families that are there
13:38all week long showing livestock.
13:41It's very family-friendly side of the fair.
13:48The carnival side is not so much.
13:59Going to the fair, I just, I kind of expected,
14:02like, the people that stare at us, take pictures of us,
14:06and, like, whisper about us.
14:07Like, that's just to be expected
14:08whenever we go into a big outing like that.
14:11So, yeah, that's just what I expected.
14:14You get steak on a stick.
14:16What's steak on a stick?
14:18Steak on a stick.
14:18Steak on a stick.
14:19Oh.
14:20I'm tired, Ken.
14:23You ask yourself, you know, as a little person going to this,
14:27people at the fair are going to stop.
14:29They're going to absorb for five seconds.
14:31If they have the courage, they'll come up and ask,
14:33and your name, and things like that,
14:35or you get the pictures.
14:37It's something we've had to deal with
14:39since we were little kids.
14:40Tripling stress.
14:42All right, now we're going to get in a ride.
14:43I see.
14:45Can we get a ride?
14:46We will get something.
14:47We'll make sure we get something
14:48when we get done with rides.
14:56You talking about the people laughing?
15:00Oh.
15:00Well, I mean, we're used to that.
15:02Yeah, it hurts our feelings really bad.
15:04Why are they looking at us?
15:07What's wrong with me?
15:11Oh, right here.
15:12Right here, Oreos.
15:13Right here.
15:14Yep, Oreos.
15:15Can we get some fried Oreos?
15:19We should be able to enjoy an amusement park
15:22or a carnival and great carnival food
15:25just like everyone else, but we can't.
15:33And that's where you go back to
15:35we're not looked at as humans.
15:38We're not.
15:39We're looked at objectively.
15:41I mean, it's ignorance.
15:42They don't have the understanding
15:44and realize how rude and disrespectful they're being.
15:47Ally, do you guys normally come to the carnival side?
15:50No, like never.
15:52Never.
15:53For this reason.
15:54I don't like it.
15:55I feel uncomfortable.
15:56I don't feel safe.
15:57Yeah.
15:58I hate it over here.
15:59No, this is more the city.
16:02City people that are coming for the rides and the food and stuff
16:05and not the agriculture part of it.
16:07No, no.
16:08They like stare at us, like yell comments.
16:11Take pictures of us.
16:12Take pictures of us.
16:13It's very, very annoying.
16:15So I see why Ally's family doesn't go over there.
16:17I don't feel comfortable over there at all.
16:19Or they don't go over there without a trusted adult.
16:22Yeah.
16:22Yep.
16:23Well, even you and I, when we came,
16:25because we had to come not this far over.
16:27We had to come a little bit because there's an Asian food truck.
16:30We had people that it was not because of who we are.
16:36It was because of what we are.
16:38And we're very kind of ignorant about it.
16:42And we had to politely say, no, we're getting our food.
16:46And we're people, we're not objects.
16:49People cannot give the excuse, I don't know.
16:51Right.
16:52Because everybody has a phone.
16:54Everybody has access to the internet.
16:56You can know respect.
16:57And respect is, hi, what's your name?
16:59Not, you know, you're an M word or, yeah.
17:05Breaking down that fourth wall is not about a television family.
17:09It's about disrupting someone's evening at the carnival.
17:17I enjoy the animal side.
17:18We enjoy the fair side.
17:20The countryside more.
17:21Not so much the carnival side.
17:21Yeah, if I come back, we're staying on the countryside.
17:23Yeah.
17:23The countryside.
17:25Oh, yeah.
17:25The countryside.
17:27The city side, yeah.
17:27Yeah, we like the countryside.
17:42When I'm in the pen, it's just me and the pig.
17:45I'm nervous because I don't want the pig to run.
17:48I want to do good.
17:49I want to play.
17:50Hi.
17:50Put your hands together, please.
17:52Let's congratulate these kiddos.
17:55While you're in the ring, you want your pig to follow you around and make sure that the
17:59judge can see, like, all the angles of the pig.
18:01And the rest of the judging is basically up to the pig on, like, what it looks like.
18:06And in the ring now is class number five.
18:08Our first class of purebred Durrock Market Hawks.
18:13How's it going?
18:14All right.
18:16The judge is looking for, like, the meat, like, the body type, the belly, the legs.
18:22If it walks correctly.
18:30It's like her walking so fast.
18:32These are slow plays.
18:35Well, when Allie comes in with her Durrock barrel, it wants to run around and not as
18:40cooperative.
18:41So that becomes an issue.
18:43Is it the pig that's maybe not cooperating because of some of those faults or deformities
18:48that it has, or is it because, you know, it's just being a pain in the rear end?
18:53Let's go.
18:56With being an LP in the pig, it's much bigger than me because it's, like, to my waist,
19:01basically.
19:02I feel like I have, what's the word?
19:06Disadvantage.
19:06Yeah.
19:07I can't walk fast with the pig.
19:09Plus, when I, like, tap it, it's harder because I'm, like, leaning on the pig, trying
19:15to drive it.
19:16So it's much harder.
19:20Ready?
19:26That's the pig I have to show.
19:27The open glass.
19:30So seeing Allie struggle with the pig definitely made me a little bit nervous because I'm going
19:35to be showing that same pig.
19:36So I hope it doesn't try to run away from me, too.
19:46OK, you're going to be seven.
19:48Just needs to be more opened up.
19:49More bulk, OK?
19:53OK, bud, you'll be four.
19:56OK.
19:57It'll be two.
19:59It'll be one.
20:00You got second?
20:01Woo!
20:02Good job!
20:06And then he told me a second.
20:08I was like, I'm second?
20:09Like, really?
20:10I was surprised.
20:13Yes.
20:13Overall, I would say everything went well when Allie handled Daniel like a champ.
20:17So, yeah, I would say it was an overall success.
20:19And she placed second.
20:21Yeah, I placed.
20:22So that's good.
20:24Good job, Allie.
20:26You did good.
20:27I'm sorry.
20:28Careful how close you get, Alex.
20:30She got this done.
20:30Don't hug me.
20:32Got it.
20:32It's perfect.
20:43We might grab the cooler of beer.
20:50Come here.
20:53We'll be there.
20:54right here.
20:55Are y'all really going to do that, bury that bottle?
20:57Yeah.
20:59I heard of this old southern tale.
21:02If you bury a bottle of bourbon before your wedding day,
21:06it yields off the rain.
21:07Dig it deep so the raccoons don't drink your bourbon.
21:10Yeah, they're going to stay clear of this.
21:13Brent's wearing his boots.
21:14He'll be able to operate that shovel good.
21:16And you dig it up on your wedding day to have it.
21:20You stimulate the growth on that tree.
21:23And if we dig this up on your wedding day,
21:25and it ain't here, it's out of our hands.
21:30Are either of you guys superstitious?
21:32Did you see each other the night before, right?
21:34Like, it's bad luck.
21:35Let's, let's, let's tell you,
21:37because I'll tell you all the things,
21:39because obviously this is working.
21:41So we saw each other the night before.
21:43We saw each other the day of.
21:45We were out in the church parking lot the morning of our wedding,
21:51weed eating and blowing.
21:53So I don't believe in any of that.
21:57This is a lifelong commitment.
21:59We're going for a test drive.
22:04Every time I smoke cigars, Elizabeth, she really don't like it.
22:10She thinks they're nasty, and she won't kiss me afterwards.
22:13Sounds like smoking cigars is good work control.
22:19When are you getting engaged?
22:20Not any time soon.
22:21I just met somebody five months ago, so.
22:23How's that going?
22:24It's pretty good now.
22:26I don't look like I'm getting married any time soon now,
22:28but the bride's getting married this early.
22:31I mean, I'm still excited for him.
22:32He's going to be great.
22:40That wedding will be here before you know it.
22:41Bourbon's playing into effect.
22:43Getting it all out now.
22:45Are you doing signature drinks?
22:47I don't know.
22:48I mean, Miller High Life.
22:49No, no, no, no, no, no.
22:50Oh, man.
22:50No, your signature drink.
22:52It can be any concoction.
22:53Like bourbon, you know.
22:55If Bryce's signature drink happens to be beer,
22:58I think a funny name for it would be, you know,
23:02just beer, really.
23:06I might call it beer in the woods.
23:09Elizabeth's got her very, like, illustrious drink,
23:12and then you have on the menu beer, and then with a period.
23:16Let's just say triple B.
23:18What is it?
23:19Beers, bucks, and boners.
23:23You can call it triple B, and people ask what it is,
23:26and that's what you say, beers, bucks, and boners.
23:29Bryce's three thanks.
23:31I could show you some signature drinks that you can taste
23:36and be like, oh, yeah, that'll be good for the wedding.
23:40Who's going to get the drunkest at the reception?
23:43Probably me.
23:44Who will be the drunkest at the wedding?
23:48Probably Bryce's brother, Brett.
23:51Yeah.
23:52He don't have a care in the world.
23:55And Jenna would probably be the first one out.
23:56Do you remember when a menu came to Jonah's?
24:00Oh, yeah, this happened right here.
24:02So we got to keep the tradition alive.
24:04Jonah, Jonah.
24:05I don't know what to have you sit on.
24:08Jonah.
24:10Can you fill this up with an Irish car bomb?
24:12Because I can't walk.
24:14So Jonah's celebrating his 21st birthday
24:17and having a good time with his friends.
24:22I was there to celebrate.
24:23Bryce, what are you most nervous about about your wedding?
24:27The whole thing.
24:29The whole thing.
24:32The ceremony, reception, all of it.
24:37Are you really worried, nervous?
24:39Nervous?
24:39But I mean, are you really?
24:41You know it's going to go fine.
24:42I'm just can't help but be nervous.
24:46I'm not nervous, nervous about marrying Elizabeth.
24:50But I am nervous about the whole dancing thing
24:54and saying the vows.
24:56When the wedding's over, the party's over,
24:59and it's time for you and Elizabeth to make your exit,
25:02are you guys leaving Leighton with grandparents
25:04or are y'all taking Leighton with you?
25:07Me and her, we're just going to probably leave Leighton
25:10with y'all or my parents.
25:14And then me and her go on our honeymoon wherever we're at.
25:18You know, she's never liked being without Leighton.
25:22So she's going to be missing Leighton the first day we're out
25:26and already probably going to be wanting to come home already.
25:30Bryce, where are y'all planning on going?
25:31Yeah.
25:31We're going to try to go to Hawaii.
25:33Hawaii?
25:34OK.
25:35Y'all be gone hopefully for more than one day.
25:36If she's ready to see Leighton by day one, that's a problem.
25:38That's what I'm saying.
25:40That's what I'm saying.
25:40That's what I'm saying.
25:40Yeah.
25:42The honeymoon is still something that me and Elizabeth
25:44need to talk about.
26:05How many last minute advice before I head in?
26:08Just look at the judge, take eye contact.
26:13You'll do good.
26:14I believe in you.
26:17OK.
26:17What's the advice I always tell you?
26:19Don't suck.
26:21I'll try.
26:23I would say Ally's advice of her telling me not just don't suck was, was pretty good, I'd
26:30say.
26:30I mean, she was just straight to the point and yeah, my goal was to not suck.
26:40I should go towards the right you said?
26:42Yeah.
26:43OK.
26:44Alice is about to go next after this group.
26:48Well, you can watch it.
26:50I'm pretty nervous.
26:52There's a lot of people watching me and I really don't want to embarrass myself, especially
26:56in front of my future and loss.
27:08When I first stepped into the ring with my pig, I was definitely nervous.
27:12Like I felt like all the eyes around me and yeah, it was definitely nerve wracking when
27:16I first stepped in.
27:19Good job, keeping his head up.
27:27I think Alex is doing great.
27:30The pig isn't running.
27:32He was fast walking a little bit.
27:34But overall, Alex is doing great.
27:41Watching the swine show, it's I guess organized chaos in the ring.
27:51You're going to be eight.
27:59You're going to be seven.
28:09You're going to be five.
28:11Oh, he got fifth.
28:12Oh, he got fifth?
28:13He got fifth.
28:14Good job.
28:16Good for him.
28:17Good job.
28:18Yeah, that's pretty good.
28:20Yeah.
28:21Woo!
28:23Overall, I'm really happy with my performance.
28:25I'm more than happy that I placed the fifth and I did it a lot better than I thought I
28:29was going to.
28:30You did good.
28:31Good job.
28:32So what do you think?
28:32How'd you do?
28:33I did a lot better than I thought I was going to.
28:35I thought you did great.
28:36You did good.
28:37Didn't get away from you?
28:38Didn't take off?
28:39Not really, no.
28:41He kept his composure.
28:42If he would have gotten tense, the pig would have gotten tense and tried to run even more.
28:46For his first time showing, keeping that composure was huge.
28:49Hey, at least I got a ribbon.
28:51That's all I really need.
28:52I know.
28:52Pink.
28:53Real men wear pink.
28:54That's right.
28:55It matches your shirt.
28:56It does match my shirt, actually.
28:58You keep it.
28:58Yeah.
28:59That's right.
29:00I was pretty impressed.
29:01Alex did really good with the pig.
29:03I thought, like, I don't know, the pig would run away from him.
29:06But he did really good.
29:08I feel like he did a good job.
29:09And we're walking away with a little Butler County Fair souvenir.
29:14Good job.
29:15Yeah.
29:17Congratulations.
29:18Thanks.
29:19You did really good.
29:20That went a lot better than I thought it was going to.
29:22I think you did better than Allie.
29:24He did, yeah.
29:26The pig is a lot better than me.
29:28But let's make it clear.
29:30The Johnstons are not becoming pig showers, goat showers, cow showers, horse showers, chicken
29:39showers, rabbit showers.
29:42You want to come back next year and do it?
29:44Maybe.
29:44You're open.
29:45Yeah, you should.
29:47So now that I've shown my own pig, I definitely have a greater appreciation for what Allie does
29:51when she shows her pigs.
29:53And it also gives me to an insight of what the lifestyle will be like when I eventually
29:57make the move up to Ohio.
29:59Aw, how cute.
30:01That's so cute.
30:02Get out.
30:17After our embarrassing skeet shooting, technically none of us did very well.
30:24Jonah did terrible.
30:24And we had an agreement that whoever lost, there was a payoff bet.
30:30I thought about having Jonah down there on the hill, running right and left, almost
30:35like serpentine, hiding behind trees.
30:38Jonah has to go down on the hill, run back and forth, and find two ears of corn, dried
30:45corn that we have hanging in the woods.
30:48Once he finds the corn, he has to untie them and run them back up the hill and put them
30:52in our deer feeder, where we feed deer.
30:54In the meantime of him running and hunting for deer corn, we're going to be just bingo
30:59stamped Jonah with a paintball gun.
31:02Come on, fat boy.
31:10This is great.
31:15In all fairness, to keep the theme alive and because Bryce is a part of this whole debacle,
31:21it's fair for me to be in a deer costume.
31:24And I actually looked at it as though, look, I get some sort of armor.
31:32This is great.
31:34If someone believes this is ridiculous, I think it's appropriate.
31:38Is that stuff hanging out or is this good?
31:41You look good to me.
31:42I think that, you know, if I weren't to do this and I weren't to hold up my end of
31:47the
31:47bargain, they wouldn't want to play any competitions with me.
31:52Just watch the ground when you're running.
31:54Yeah.
31:55You know, so just in these woods right here?
31:58You're fine.
31:58You can go anywhere you want.
32:00You can use the trees for cover or you can just hail Mary it and go for it.
32:05Ready?
32:06Yep.
32:07Go.
32:22All right, once he crosses that tramp, let's just start, I mean, just hammering him.
32:28Ready?
32:38He's done.
32:39All right.
32:39Good job.
32:42Good job.
32:43Holy .
32:53Yeah.
33:06The costume does not help.
33:08I don't see any spots.
33:09Oh, I got lit up.
33:11I can still feel them right here, right here and then right here.
33:14And then my hand.
33:15We hit you in the hand?
33:16Yeah, on this side.
33:17I think you had a yellow spot over here.
33:19Never mind.
33:20Yeah.
33:20We did rip him up right there.
33:22Yeah.
33:23But I said we got a dead deer tonight.
33:26All right, your debt's paid.
33:27Thanks.
33:28Good job.
33:29Good sport.
33:40The sweet corn's in there.
33:42Over this?
33:43Yeah, we'll just shuck it into a bucket.
33:45You want to show Amber how to shuck corn?
33:48I know how to shuck corn.
33:50OK.
33:50I just, there's a right way.
33:52You got to deal with it.
33:52That city.
33:54Well, now, I don't know.
33:56You have like technique or something.
33:57You got to do it to get all the silks off.
33:59Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
33:59OK.
34:01Just making sure.
34:02Trent and I have been talking about how Alex wants to move to Ohio.
34:06So it's important for me to talk with Allie's parents and make sure that this is going to be the
34:12best fit for Alex.
34:15Adam, where do you want the corn in the pot?
34:17Put it in the seats.
34:19Yeah, take it and just lay it in a chair.
34:22I'm glad you guys have got to come up here and see a little piece of what she does and
34:27what she loves.
34:29I am too.
34:29And it's nice to see y'all's like family, of course, and then friends.
34:37It's nice to be able to see that because eventually, I know Alex is going to make his way up
34:43to Ohio.
34:45Well, I know.
34:46How do you feel about that?
34:48I think, you know, truthfully, I know, especially being little people, that that's always a possibility when they date, you
34:57know, other little people.
34:58Yeah.
34:58And something, you know, with Allie is, I know farm life is very, very important to her.
35:06And that's what she wants agriculture, she wants to go into.
35:10And, you know, we can't give that to her down where we are.
35:14I'm okay with that, especially knowing y'all's family.
35:19And, like, he's going to be, I don't want to say taken care of, but taken care of in the
35:25sense of, like, emergency if I can't get up here.
35:29Yes, we have people.
35:30But, yeah.
35:31We're here.
35:32And Trent and I know, like, we're prepared emotionally to have to travel to see our kids.
35:39I think about Alex moving away to Ohio, it's a happy, sad feeling.
35:45It's an accomplishment, number one.
35:47I will not be sad.
35:48He will be missed extremely.
35:51But I think, over time, it may get worse before it ever gets better with us missing him.
35:57Me, Amber, and Emma will have the biggest struggle, no doubt.
36:02But I know, too, how much Alex, when he does come up here and comes back home, how much he
36:08loves, I mean, loves doing farming with you.
36:11He blends in so well, and he jumps right in amongst the farm guys.
36:16Yeah.
36:17Well, we don't even have to ask him to help, he just jumps right in.
36:19He jumps right in, yeah.
36:19I mean, what else can I do?
36:20And, I mean, he's so polite and respectful.
36:22You guys have raised a really, really good young man.
36:25At least one out of five.
36:26Yeah, I understand.
36:27It works.
36:28I understand.
36:29I do see Ally and Alex together for quite a while, looking into the future.
36:33So, I do see him maybe moving up here, and that will present its own set of challenges, if and
36:38when that happens.
36:40They figure out the long-distance relationship, but now, how will they figure out the relationship when it's more day
36:45-to-day?
36:47I would like to see them, if it does go to engagement or anything like that, I would like them
36:52to live in the same city for a while.
36:54Oh, yeah, before?
36:55Before an engagement or something happens, I mean.
36:57In this day and age, you know, in Trent and I's age, you couldn't do that.
37:01It wasn't a lie.
37:02Not even living, if they want to live together, yes, but at least where they can see each other more
37:07consistently.
37:08Trent and I are a firm believer in that.
37:09You know, when you get to see each other.
37:11We told Jonah and Ashley, yep.
37:12It's exciting, and it's fun, and you love it.
37:14Y'all need to do it for at least a year.
37:15Yeah.
37:16This trip to Ohio has been a lot of fun, but Trent and I have a lot to discuss.
37:20One being my thoughts on Alex moving to Ohio, and then, of course, the other is wedding talk, since the
37:26wedding is only three months away and we still have a lot to do.
37:29I don't know who wants to have the pork burgers, but that's Ally's pig from last year.
37:34Oh.
37:34So.
37:35Nice.
37:37That's what happens if you-
37:38The prize-winning pig.
37:39That's right.
37:39It was too big to bring the fare, so we just kept it and ate it.
37:59It's nice and humid.
38:03Hi, dear.
38:04Hi.
38:05Welcome home.
38:06It's a bit strong out here.
38:10All that smell is nothing but money.
38:13Well, that's supposedly what I smelled for the last four days at the fair.
38:19I am obviously a little tired from just getting in from Ohio, but it's important that Trent and I catch
38:26up, especially being that the wedding quote just came in.
38:30Proposal came in for Elizabeth's wedding.
38:33I gotta sit down for this one.
38:35The wedding quote came in and it is definitely higher than what we imagined or what we thought would be.
38:46I don't want to say we had a number, but at the same time, we definitely weren't thinking that was
38:52going to be the number.
38:53It's a lot more than what we will be able to do.
38:58But everything that Julie has listed down there, I mean, it's a lot of work.
39:05I don't know what weddings.
39:07It's been 27 years since I planned a wedding.
39:11And when I did our wedding, I did it extremely conservatively.
39:14I went to a big box store and bought fake flowers to do my bouquet.
39:20And I went to JCPenney Outlet and bought my $199 wedding dress.
39:27This is the top of the top.
39:30What's the most expensive thing, food or flowers? I know it's one of them.
39:33Flowers, by far.
39:35Over food?
39:36By far, yeah.
39:38The highest priced items on the quote is flowers.
39:41At this point, I'm like, take out the orchids and let's add some monkey grass in there.
39:46Some leary oak.
39:48Some ivy.
39:50Yeah, we got plenty of ivy.
39:52Yeah.
39:53I feel like if we could, you know, first of all, talk to Elizabeth and Bryce,
39:57and then we, you know, contact Julie and see, you know, if we could at least cut 35%.
40:05And it not completely change the look of the wedding.
40:11This is a lot to have to cut from the wedding budget.
40:14And hopefully, you know, Elizabeth doesn't freak out.
40:21Next time on Seven Little Johnstons.
40:23The wedding proposal came in, so we have to discuss.
40:29It looks like it's a lot.
40:30It is.
40:31The final number at the back is not doable.
40:36We're going to make a couple of drinking glasses like these ones.
40:39Tap and turn.
40:40Same things.
40:41Tap and turn.
40:42Let's bring it over to our glory hole over here.
40:45And you're going to rotate that.
40:48It's warm in here, and it's because of these furnaces.
40:52Which one's actually called a glory hole?
40:55Yep.
40:56You just stick the tip in.
40:59I brought all the guys.
41:01Yay!
41:02Yes.
41:03I think Elizabeth has strong opinions, especially when the event has something to do with her.
41:09We've got the camo tight.
41:10No.
41:11Oh, my gosh.
41:12That's great.
41:13Yeah.
41:13No.
41:14I'm like, gosh, please let me wear this at the wedding.
41:18That's what I'm talking about.
41:19Yeah.
41:19It's great.
41:20I love it.
41:21No.
41:23Set it aside.
