00:03I think that's now eight FA Cup semi-finals in a row for this club.
00:07How do you put into context that achievement?
00:10It's special.
00:13In second place, it's really a sign of a really, really consistent quality the team reach every year.
00:23FA Cup is so, so special.
00:25We all know this.
00:27But especially for the fans, travelling again, having the chance to travel again,
00:32having a nice day with the family, with the kids, with all the passion around it.
00:40It's a special place, Wembley, and you should not take for granted reaching every time a final or a semi
00:46-final.
00:47For sure, we don't do that, so it's nice.
00:50We know your attention will now turn to the Premier League,
00:53but having had that Carabao Cup win, what's that done for this season, this group?
00:58I always believe the Carabao Cup is such an important competition for the whole structure of the club
01:06because a lot of young players from the academy make their debuts.
01:09A lot of players of the squad get minutes.
01:15It's unbelievable if you can play finals already in February, March.
01:21Winning a final, Wembley, against Arsenal, especially the way we did,
01:26creates even more hunger for us because you know you can do it.
01:30This is a new team with a lot of settled players who take everyday lead of the team,
01:37like Bernardo, Rodri, Ruben, Erling, and it's a compliment for them
01:42how we all are growing together.
01:48Erling said this is a club that has to win trophies on the biggest stage.
01:52So it has.
01:53This is a club that has to win trophies on the biggest stage.
01:56Is that the sort of mentality you see everyday in training
01:59and what you need for the rest of the season?
02:02Yeah, training is everything.
02:03We always say training is the best transfer you can make
02:08because you have to develop the players, you have to develop the idea,
02:12you have to grow as a team on the training pitch by drilling, by drilling, by drilling,
02:16by drilling the way you want to play, the way you want to see the team play
02:21and give all these players the chance to be themselves, to show off what they can do.
02:27And that's the biggest compliment that can make the whole team
02:30and especially all the players.
02:33The fire in each session when we play Old Viong, when we do finals,
02:37when we have just simple finishing drills or even the tactics when it's a little bit more boring
02:41but the attention and it's a big compliment for them.
02:45With all the strikers that you've worked with, how do you see Erling and his standing?
02:51I've worked with a lot of good strikers, with a lot of goals, with a lot of finals,
02:55with a lot of cups, with a lot of trophies.
02:58Erling is the 12th hat-trick today, the 12th hat-trick for Man City
03:02and in the age where I still have so much the second goal was the header.
03:08Yes.
03:08The second goal was insane because the way he attacks, he flies,
03:13the way he still puts the ball to the corner.
03:15I love when these guys are old school striker goals, cross, wait, commit, chip.
03:22So, I love it.
03:27Has Kusinov recently shown, I mean, that speed he showed for that tackle in the first half,
03:34is he really showing these attributes that he has now in those recent games?
03:39Every time I see Kusa on the training pitch in the hole, I say, fast, fast.
03:44He's so fast.
03:47But he's calm as well.
03:49He defends so smart and it helps if you have a lot of speed in the back.
03:56But I think today for the whole last line, all four,
04:00the way we dealt with how many players they put on the inside,
04:03how they try to make the runs, how we deal with that,
04:07always control that but still be high.
04:11They play all four a really good game.
04:13I mean, Kusinov, you saw in the first goal kick how there was no solution
04:17and he just steps, he commits into the midfield and he's making steps
04:21and he has to just make sure that he keeps growing.
04:25Young player, full of potential, but it shows Man City a lot of new players
04:30who can make that step as well.
04:32Just with Mohamed Salih, you worked with him so closely.
04:36I mean, do you think there'll be a lot of, like today,
04:39a lot of respect between now and the end of the season
04:41before he leaves Liverpool?
04:43I hope.
04:44He gave colour to seven, eight years Liverpool
04:50with winning the biggest trophies you can win
04:53in a style that was insane.
04:56So he should, but he will get all that.
05:00It's nice for all the guys who are part of that team
05:03and that generation of players.
05:05They should all deserve that.
05:08You were talking before about the sort of development of the team.
05:12Given it is a largely new team this season,
05:14are you surprised that you've been able to hit this kind of level
05:17of performance this season?
05:20No, because the core of the team is still similar.
05:23Rodrigo coming back was massive, of course,
05:25but Nico Gonzalez did a really, really, really good job
05:28in the meantime.
05:31But the way Pep organises the team
05:34and how we put his passion and his admission
05:37every day to the players,
05:39I said the last time,
05:41there are two things certain in Manchester.
05:42The weather is not that good
05:43and Pep doing meetings with the team.
05:45So he drills them and that's really important.
05:50But I think the main thing is
05:54that our senior players, they own it.
05:58They own it.
05:59They own the responsibility of that group.
06:03And I think then good things grow in the team
06:05when Bernardo, Rodrigo, Ruben, Erling,
06:08the guys who are long here,
06:10that they continue that mentality
06:11to see each next game as a final.
06:14And when that happens in a group,
06:17things grow because the young players
06:18will grow with senior players.
06:20And they reach certain standards
06:22you reach in training.
06:23And I said, I think training is massive in that.
06:27And just on Erling,
06:28you spoke there about the sharpness he showed
06:29to get across Canarte for the second goal.
06:31He's obviously struggled for goals
06:33a little bit in the second half of the season
06:34compared to the first half.
06:36I think during the international break,
06:37the Norway coach said that he was given a little break.
06:39He was allowed to go away
06:40and play one of the games.
06:41Do you think that maybe that little break
06:42has benefited him?
06:44That physically he can get back to where he was?
06:46Guys, if I see it,
06:48it's crazy what we're asking
06:50because he carries,
06:52and I'm not saying that he carries Norway,
06:55but we all know how important play is for Norway.
06:58With a lot of other good players,
06:59what I'm trying to say is that he feels that responsibility.
07:01He reached the World Cup first time in,
07:0330-something years,
07:06and then feeling the responsibility
07:08to end press and play
07:11and come to set
07:12and to run behind
07:13and to be in the box available
07:14and to keep the ball
07:16when the opposition defends man-to-man.
07:19There are a lot of things we ask
07:20and do that every three days.
07:25But it's clearly then
07:27that not everything
07:29throughout the whole long, long season
07:31will go your way.
07:32But it shows character again
07:34and mentality
07:35that he comes back in this fashion.
07:40It's lovely,
07:42not only lovely,
07:43it's a machine to work with.
07:46I like the guys who train like that.
07:49Compliment to him.
07:50Set the embogger there for 10.30
07:52to be on Sunday evening.
07:53We'll start with Jordan.
07:56Hi, Pep.
07:57You mentioned Bernardo a few times
07:59in terms of the senior players owning it.
08:01You've come up against him for years,
08:02but is there anything
08:03working with him every day
08:05that he's into?
08:05I didn't like...
