00:00You didn't feel that you needed to apologize for the game. Why?
00:05Because we did everything the right way.
00:06Welcome to WatchMojo.
00:08And today, we're exploring the most foolish, dumbest, and bizarre errors that non-famous people have made.
00:15Either through poor judgment, carelessness, or thoughtless behavior, which resulted in them being fired.
00:22Now many people on social media agree with her, and they have been blasting the company, urging them to fire
00:27everyone involved.
00:30Asking Students for Dating Advice
00:33Alongside juggling multiple jobs, such as being an actor and a substitute teacher, Cassandra Firing also had two potential boyfriends
00:42in 2013.
00:43However, rather than speak to her friends about the dilemma, she told her fourth grade students at the East Chester
00:50New York School where she worked.
00:52Weirdly, the kids actually gave Firing solid advice and even offered to role-play with them portraying Firing and her
01:00pretending to be each of her prospective boyfriends.
01:03While Firing described the conversation as G-rating, she allegedly suggested to the kids to toilet paper the boyfriends' houses
01:11and dress up as demons to scare the men.
01:14Following an investigation by the school, Firing was fired for the inappropriate lesson in 2014.
01:22Admitting Crimes Online
01:25It's pretty much common sense that if you commit a crime, it's not a good plan to brag about it
01:30online.
01:31Police officers know this, well, except Catherine Lafitte, apparently.
01:35In 2011, the Dallas, Texas cop bragged on her Facebook account about injuring a Plano hospital worker by throwing a
01:42boot at them, Jerry Springer-style.
01:44While the employee didn't press criminal charges, Lafitte was suspended by the police and eventually fired for the attack.
01:51In response, Lafitte issued a complaint with the Ethics Advisory Commission that her bosses had ignored her mental health struggles.
01:58In 2022, life got worse for Lafitte when she was charged with murdering her neighbor, who had been feuding with
02:05the former cop about a necklace.
02:08Letting Celebrities Fly
02:09Back in the day, kids could go and hang out in a plane's cockpit with the pilots.
02:15However, nowadays it's well understood that it's no longer possible to visit, unless you're famous, apparently.
02:22Flying from Cancun to Mexico City on a passenger plane in 2014, Mexican celebrities Esmeralda Ugalde and Samadhi Zendejas were
02:32able to get inside the cockpit, where the pilot's at, and sit at the controls.
02:37The famous duo uploaded photos of the experience online, only to quickly delete them when the backlash came.
02:44Ugalde and Zendejas tried to claim they only went into the cockpit when the plane was grounded.
02:49However, the pilot admitted they were flying at the time.
02:54Unsurprisingly, he was fired for allowing this to happen.
02:58Photographing a kitchen haircut.
03:00If you worked at a restaurant and saw a ridiculous health violation, would you choose
03:05A. Inform the local health department, or B. Send photos of it to your friends on social media?
03:12It's two things that aren't supposed to go together. Haircuts and fast food.
03:16If you selected the latter, then you'd be in the same boat as Jennifer Laguerre.
03:21While working at a Taco Bell in Kokomo, Indiana, she found her shift manager giving the general
03:26manager a haircut in the kitchen, three feet from where the food is made.
03:31I took it out of sheer shock, you know, and showed it to a few friends via Snapchat.
03:36Laguerre took a photo and sent it to friends on Snapchat, where one recipient uploaded the image
03:42on Facebook, making it go viral. Due to sharing the photo, Laguerre was fired.
03:47However, the health department was informed about the incident and investigated the restaurant.
03:52Is it a critical violation? No, but it certainly is an ideal, and it creates that potential
03:58pore contamination.
03:59The secret blog.
04:01For several months, an anonymous person was running a blog called Queen of the Sky, where
04:06the writer provided a semi-fictional account of their life as a cabin crew member.
04:10Several months later, the creator posted images of herself, and Ellen Simonetti's identity
04:16was easily discovered.
04:18After all, not only was she wearing Delta Airlines attire, but her face was also clearly in the
04:24shot. In response, the company fired Simonetti for the photos in her uniform. However, the former
04:31Sky Queen issued a lawsuit against Delta for discrimination, claiming male bloggers hadn't
04:35received the same treatment. In the end, the case was settled out of courts. Simonetti went on to be
04:42an activist for blogging rights.
04:44Reply All Blunder
04:45In 2024, San Francisco's District Attorney, Brooke Jenkins, sent an office-wide invitation
04:52about an anti-discrimination meeting. Rather than getting a typical response from employee
04:57Javon Thomas, he was seemingly asking her what color underwear she was wearing, which was sent
05:03to everyone receiving the invitation after he clicked Reply All. Despite sending an apology
05:09moments later once he saw what he'd done, he was understandably fired. However, Thomas then issued a
05:15lawsuit against the DA's office for defamation, and he'd struggled to find work since. He claimed that he
05:21was meant to email that weird message to a friend as a joke between them, but accidentally sent it in
05:27response to the invitation. Dangerous dancing. Every so often, an Internet
05:33trend oozes into the mainstream, and for a brief time takes over everything for better or worse.
05:39Love it or hate it, you've probably seen it. The convulsive dance move setting the Internet ablaze
05:45called the Harlem Shake, and it's inspired thousands of YouTube videos. In 2013, it was
05:52the Harlem Shake dance craze, causing people to film themselves dancing, even at work and school.
05:58While most videos were fine and caused no issues, it was a different story when workers at Agnew Mine
06:04in Australia took part. This rendition, performed underground by workers in an Australian gold mine,
06:09allegedly breached company safety standards, according to a dismissal letter by mining company Barminco.
06:15Recording the clip underground, a group of miners wearing safety gear danced in front of a camera.
06:21However, Barminco, the company that owned the mine, was livid, deeming this dance stunt a health and safety issue.
06:29Up to 15 people were fired, which included the dancers and those who watched them record.
06:34A Facebook page has since been set up, calling on the company to rehire the miners.
06:39Aggressive emailing. We've all poured over emails before sending, wondering if the tone or the
06:45paragraph of exclamation points might make us appear too hostile to our colleagues. Well, in 2007,
06:52Vicki Walker, an accountant in New Zealand, had no such worries. After her two years of employment at
06:58ProCare Health, she reportedly expressed her point by writing in all caps BOLD and RED text when sending an
07:04email about a claim deadline to other workers. However, due to the other workers finding the
07:10message confrontational and for causing disharmony in the workplace, Walker was fired. However,
07:16she took the company to court for unfair dismissal. In 2009, Walker won her case, earning her 17,000 New
07:23Zealand dollars. Around 11,600 USD at the time. Patient mocking. 99.99% of the time, medical staff are
07:33a
07:33treasure and make the scary experience of getting treatment so much nicer.
07:37A Santa Barbara health clinic is investigating a controversial social media post that has been
07:42called disturbing on many levels. Yet then there are some of the workers at Sansom Clinic in Santa
07:49Barbara, California, who fell into that .01%. In 2025, a group of employees uploaded a video of
07:56themselves on TikTok, appearing to mock a patient for leaving bodily fluids on a paper towel that was
08:02covering a treatment room's exam table. The video jokingly referred to the soiled items as,
08:08quotes, gifts from patients. The clinic's owner, Sutter Health, was livid as the video spread across
08:14the internet, leading to backlash from viewers. Deeming the post as disrespectful and violating their
08:21policies, the company fired those involved in the video, which was around eight employees. We are deeply
08:28concerned about a disrespectful social media post made on a personal account by a former employee and
08:35we are conducting a full review in line with our policies.
08:45Before we continue, check out this single from Sound Mojo's audio, Songs from Iran,
08:51reimagining Persian melodies as modern rock, metal, and pop songs. Check out the full track and album below.
09:13Winning remorselessly. When coaching a sports team, you, of course, want to win. Yet there comes a
09:20point when a score gets so lopsided that it's embarrassing for everyone involved and those
09:24watching. To us, it was just another game. I think to mainstream media, everyone looked at it as
09:32a team that just decided to run up a score. In 2009, that happened. When the girls basketball
09:39team at Covenant School in Dallas, Texas destroyed Dallas Academy, a school for students with learning
09:44difficulties, 100 to zero. The higher ups at the Covenant School called the win shameful as they
09:51believed it went against the facility's Christian policies. Suddenly, the winning team no longer felt
09:56like winners. Covenant issued an apology saying their actions were shameful and an embarrassment
10:01and that they seek the forgiveness of Dallas Academy. When the winning coach, Micah Grimes,
10:05was contacted by reporters, he sent them an email stating that he disagreed with his boss's assessment
10:11and refused to apologize for the absurd scoreline. Shortly after, he was fired. Despite losing his job,
10:18Micah Grimes says he has no regrets and that he and his team did nothing wrong. Have you ever been
10:24fired for a dumb mistake or know someone who was? Let us know in the comments below.
