00:15It's On Cinema, at the Cinema, at the Manor.
00:21Hi everybody, welcome to an episode of On Cinema, at the Cinema, at the Manor.
00:28I'm New Heidecker, and we're here at the Manor.
00:34A little bit of a difficult episode for us today, because yesterday afternoon we lost,
00:42my father, Giamato, passed away suddenly, and we're here today amongst some of his closest
00:52friends and neighbors, and we're in shock, and we're obviously very upset, devastated,
01:02and decided to carry on today, and I don't even know if that's the right move.
01:11You know, we're kind of, we're in uncharted territory here.
01:16I have a commitment to my audience, and I have a commitment to this facility here to provide
01:23this experience for everybody.
01:30But it's, this is not necessarily out of the blue at a facility like this.
01:38This is fairly, I hate to say routine, but there are, there is a lot of loss at these facilities,
01:45and I knew that, but now I'm feeling it firsthand, and it is raw.
01:53That's what today is, is raw.
01:55I was up all night dealing with the hospital and the morgue, and trying to get in touch with
02:03his family, and trying to figure it out, because I do have power of attorney here with him,
02:11and the responsibilities that that brings to the table is overwhelming.
02:20And I want to, you know, we have that empty chair there, which is where G would like to
02:26sit during our shows, and here for music night and everything, and G is watching us.
02:33I think he is.
02:34I think he is here with us in the room.
02:37I know it, and he would want us to provide this, this show for you, and so we're going
02:45to try to move on from that.
02:46My guest is Greg Turkington.
02:48Hey, guys.
02:49Who knew G very well, and.
02:53He loved movies.
02:54Just getting.
02:54He always wanted to talk about some of the old movies that he'd grown up watching.
02:59And, uh, I don't want to get into the details of this too much, but he, um, was not happy
03:09with the food here.
03:10I think we all were familiar with that, and, um, we don't know all the details, but we do
03:17know is at some point yesterday morning, he, uh, opened and ate the contents of, uh, an
03:25old can of, uh, soup.
03:28Um, it was, uh, soup from the box of props that, uh, you returned to him.
03:36That soup.
03:36The, uh, Mon Pa kettle.
03:39The cream of shrimp soup from the Mon Pa kettle movie.
03:41He opened that can?
03:44The, the Mon Pa kettle can?
03:46That's what we believe.
03:47We don't know what happened, but we, we believe that, uh, that he was exposed to the old cream
03:53and shrimp and everything that was in that can, which had been in there for, I don't
03:57know how long, but.
03:58Well, the movie came out in 1951.
04:05You know, I wish I would have been there to say don't.
04:07I would have said that.
04:08There weren't any nurses that would say this isn't, don't open the movie prop?
04:12He doesn't live with a nurse, he's got his own place, and he's got the independence that
04:16you guys appreciate here, and, uh, you know, they shouldn't let outside food in the room.
04:21Well, it was a movie prop, and he had other movie props, too, that you ordered me to return
04:26to him, so.
04:26There was soup in the can, okay?
04:29And he, I don't even know if you'd want to call it soup, uh, from what I saw and what
04:33I smelled, but it was not something he should have eaten, and he was taken to the emergency
04:40room, and then went very quickly after that.
04:45So, um.
04:47But nobody noticed that he was opening that?
04:49You didn't notice?
04:51He is a, there's nobody to notice.
04:53There was nobody in his room.
04:55Um, so, I'm not going to debate this, and I'm not going to, we're not going to get into
05:00details of this, because it's so raw and fresh, and if you keep prodding on this, then you'll
05:07be creating more trouble than you'll ever know what to deal with.
05:17All right.
05:18We've got other stuff to get to.
05:20Let's just say we love you, uh, Dad, and G. Yamato is here with us right now watching
05:25us, and we're going to be remembering him, uh, uh, throughout the show, and there'll be
05:31more information on his, um, on how we're going to, we're going to, we have a, we'll have
05:36a bigger memorial plan.
05:38So, let's, uh, as he would want, let's talk about, uh, movies, and I don't know what's
05:44going on with me if I had, uh, this distress from this, and I've been up all night, but
05:49I can't, uh, so I've got a bug in me or something, but, and it's so annoying, uh, and frustrating
05:56for me, because I was really turned a corner last week with the health stuff, and the, uh,
06:03I was feeling really good, and I'm, I don't know, I got a feverish again, and
06:08I'm losing my, my voice here.
06:11Let's quickly do the, the Wicked review.
06:13First time.
06:14Um, Wicked for Good, directed by John M. Chu, starring Jonathan Bailey, Pierre Dinklage,
06:23Synthony Offo, and Ariane Grand, Ariane Grand, Ariane Grand, Ariane Grand, follows El
06:31Faba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, and her relationship with Gilda, Glinda, the
06:37Good Witch of the North.
06:38This, this is the Wizard of Oz, a sequel.
06:42Your thoughts on Wicked?
06:43It's more a reboot than a sequel, because they, it's different, um, different focus.
06:50So they took the, the Wizard of Oz, basically, they turned into some sort of musical production,
06:56but new songs.
06:58But then they made a movie, which didn't have Dorothy, didn't have Toto, and I assumed
07:03that in the sequel we would get Dorothy and Toto, which are the main characters from the
07:07Wizard of Oz.
07:08You've all seen the Wizard of Oz.
07:10Yeah.
07:11So, who are the main characters?
07:13It's not Glinda.
07:14It's Dorothy.
07:15Tin Man.
07:16Tin Man.
07:17And in the Wicked, the first movie, they didn't, they didn't, there's no Toto, even.
07:22Um, obviously you'd recast, because the dog from 1939 died years ago.
07:27But this movie, I went into it expecting, okay, now we're going to see Dorothy.
07:32Now we're going to, and still no Dorothy.
07:35All right.
07:36So, disappointing.
07:38Disappointing.
07:38Your rating?
07:40I would, for neglecting to include Dorothy or Toto in a Wizard of Oz movie, I would have
07:49to give it zero bags of popcorn.
07:53But it's an enjoyable movie, and it is kind of neat to see the witches and some of the
08:00other characters.
08:00So, I'm going to give it five bags of popcorn.
08:10Okay.
08:11What did you think?
08:12Yeah, uh, didn't get to this one.
08:16Um, so.
08:17But you had all week before Mr. Amato passed.
08:20You could have watched it then.
08:21I understand why you wouldn't watch it today, but this is why I always say to watch these
08:25things early and don't wait until the last minute.
08:27Yeah.
08:28No, I know.
08:29You're, well, I did, I did see the, I did see enough of this to know that you're, I'm
08:34going to double up on your rating.
08:38Um, all right.
08:40So, I, this is, uh, something we organized last week and, uh, I didn't want to, um, just,
08:48I didn't want to reschedule this.
08:50It's too complicated to reschedule it.
08:52And, uh, and maybe we, this is what we need is a little laughter and mirth, but, uh, it's
08:56also, um, it helps him out because it satisfies some of his community service that he's required
09:03to do.
09:04Uh, we have with us a real great entertainer.
09:06Um, and, uh, if he's ready, we can go to that now is Mark Prost is here.
09:13Magic Mark Prost with his new puppet show that he's worked out.
09:17Mark's Pro-pets.
09:18Puppet.
09:19Mark.
09:19Mark's Pruchets.
09:24What?
09:24Come on.
09:25Yes, close the door like we talked about.
09:26It's about a second.
09:27God here this morning.
09:29Always wants it closed.
09:44Hi, everybody.
09:47Give him a sec.
09:51I'm going to, you need this or what?
09:55No.
09:56I'm going to do, uh, uh, WC Fields.
10:01You're in my shot.
10:03WC Fields and the Three Stooges.
10:06Or I like to call them the Three Wise Guys.
10:09Um.
10:18What is this?
10:19You, the, uh, the Stooges and the-
10:22WC Fields with the Three Stooges.
10:25Hey, WC Fields.
10:27Why don't, how are you?
10:29Oh, it's the Three Noodle Heads.
10:34What are you guys up to today?
10:38Well, we thought it would be a great idea to come see you and maybe be in a movie together.
10:42We were never in a movie together, even though we were, we did, we've been doing our comedy from 1922
10:49to 1970.
10:51Oh, that's interesting, boys.
10:53Let's do it.
10:54But we have to, we have to include-
10:58Excuse me.
10:59Include my good friend, Mae West.
11:03Hi, boys.
11:04Why don't you come up and see me?
11:09Some time.
11:11Uh, what should the movie be about?
11:15Well, I recommend that it's about, uh, a hundred minutes.
11:23No, we mean, what should it be?
11:26Well, it should-
11:27I have two Larrys.
11:31Excuse me.
11:32I brought, I brought two Larrys.
11:34Yeah, we saw that right away.
11:36All right, anything else?
11:39What about the movie they're going to make?
11:40I just started.
11:41Who's this?
11:43It's Mae West.
11:44Why don't we go up and talk to Mae West and maybe she has some ideas.
11:55All right.
11:57What do you think, Mae?
11:59I think you all should come up and see me sometime.
12:03All right, thanks, everybody.
12:04Thank you, uh, Magic Mark.
12:06Let's hear it for Magic Mark.
12:10All right, I think that's-
12:11We just, but I want to see what the movie is that they're going to make together.
12:14Go out, if you want to find out, go out in the back and talk about, work it out,
12:16because you're just making this shit up in front of people here, okay?
12:19No, I'm not.
12:20All right, folks, we-
12:21I know, do you want to show your movie now?
12:23Thank you, Mark.
12:28Yeah, we're going to watch first time the movie, which is-
12:31And this is, by the way, our last movie night, because they're redoing the-
12:34Well, no, it's not our last movie night.
12:34It is.
12:35They're redoing the schedule.
12:36Why are you raining on everybody's parade?
12:39I'm not the one making the decisions here.
12:41Barbara called me and said that they can't-
12:43We can't have this room for four hours, and I need an hour to set up.
12:47Anyways, thank you guys so much.
