00:00Could I just interrupt for a little second?
00:03Are you still talking about...
00:04U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday
00:06confirmed that Attorney General Pam Bondi
00:09will be relinquishing her post
00:11and transitioning to a new job in the private sector.
00:15Trump said Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche
00:18will be replacing Bondi to be acting AG.
00:21He said Bondi is a patriot and loyal friend
00:24who faithfully served as the AG over the past year
00:27and done a tremendous job of overseeing
00:30a massive crackdown in crime across the country.
00:33He said murder cases had plummeted
00:36to its lowest level since 1900.
00:39In response to his social media post,
00:41Bondi said over the next month
00:43she will work tirelessly to transition her office to Blanche.
00:47She said she is thrilled to take up a role
00:50in the private sector
00:51where she will continue fighting for Trump
00:53and the U.S. administration.
00:54She hailed the historic and successful efforts by her office,
00:59saying that it is easily the most consequential first year
01:02of the Department of Justice in American history.
01:05Her successes included crackdown on domestic
01:08and transnational gangs,
01:10terrorism-related convictions against Antifa members,
01:13and arrest of over 90 cartel figures.
01:16Media reports said Trump had grown frustrated
01:19Bondi was not moving quickly enough
01:22to prosecute critics and adversaries
01:24who he wanted to face criminal charges.
01:27They said Trump was also concerned
01:29about Bondi's handling of investigative files
01:32related to the late financier
01:34and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
01:37I mean, President Trump cares a lot about loyalty,
01:42but he also cares about perceived competence
01:46or the ability to get things done.
01:48So I think here,
01:50he didn't like the kind of mess of the Epstein files.
01:55He was upset about that.
01:57And then also,
01:59a lot of prosecutions of his enemies
02:03were getting nullified by judges.
02:06There's that old saying
02:07that you can indict a ham sandwich,
02:09but these ham sandwiches were not being indicted.
02:14So it was looking like his Department of Justice
02:17wasn't doing what he wanted it to do.
02:20Pressure came in a bipartisan way, right?
02:23You had members of the Republican Party
02:25also finding, you know,
02:27the Epstein class was up to no good
02:29and this was something
02:30that was not purely the Democrats.
02:33Within 40 minutes,
02:35Wexner's name was added back.
02:37Within 40 minutes of me catching you...
02:39Bondi is the second person
02:40whom was removed from the Trump administration
02:43following Kristi Noem's redesignation
02:45as the special envoy
02:47for the Shield of the Americas last month.
02:50Noem was the Secretary of Homeland Security
02:52for more than a year from January last year,
02:55responsible for bringing down
02:57the number of illegal immigrant crossing
02:59at the U.S. borders to 95%.
03:02Media reports also said
03:04there are also discussions
03:05about Federal Bureau of Investigation
03:07Director Cash Patel,
03:09Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll,
03:11and Secretary of Labor
03:12Lori Chavez de Remmer
03:13leaving the administration.
