The Mayor says unsafe cladding may remain on some high rise homes for years. Residents warn they are stuck in unsellable properties as efforts continue to speed up repairs.

00:06Mayor has warned. Sir Sadiq Khan says that the capital faces a bigger challenge than
00:11other places, containing more than double the number of affected buildings. Ministers
00:16have ordered landlords to complete repairs or to set deadlines for repairs by 2029. But
00:23residents say they remain trapped in homes they cannot sell and that they fear for their
00:29safety years after the Grenfell Tower fire. City Hall says it's working with government
00:34and regulators to speed up removals. The Mayor says progress is being made but warned a backlog
00:40means many Londoners will still face long waits.
