02:11So I'm always thinking I should be able to repurpose it.
02:15Because she says it's her house, she thinks that it's okay to have everything out.

11:34And while she laughs it off, it's clear her family are at breaking point,

14:37to transform the kitchen, dining room, living room and front room
14:41into functional spaces for the whole family.
14:45First up, Cherie's tackling the kitchen's mismatched surfaces.
14:51While we're protecting the timber floors, which are in great condition,
14:54I need to unify the kitchen's inconsistent style.
14:58The pantry door had been covered with a chalkboard
15:01and the cupboard next to it had daggy pattern fabric.
15:05But by ripping them off, we've uncovered these gorgeous art deco-style windows
15:10that really complement the home's heritage features.
15:15But not everything in the kitchen has aged well.
15:18With the removal of the old sink, exposing a problem with the timber bench top.

23:41This built in unit was visually messy with the TV crammed in the middle surrounded by
23:46cabinetry and clutter.
23:49So we're simplifying it by pulling out the drawers and side shelves.
23:54And I've also come up with a neat solution to replace the ugly tower the family's cats
23:58climbed up to reach the flap at the top of the window that leads to their outdoor enclosure.

24:15As the cat steps are being built, the timber trims throughout the open plan living, dining
