José Fernández hizo historia en la MLB

La noche del 31 de marzo del 2026 quedará para siempre en el recuerdo de José Fernández, el prospecto de 22 años, de los Dbacks de Arizona.  Oriundo de Cumaná, Fernández fue llamado al equipo grande para hacer su debut en el mejor beisbol del mundo y, además de convertirse en el venezolano 508 en lograrlo, su actuación con el madero frente a Tigres de Detroit fue de lo más épico.  En su primer juego de la MLB logró irse de 4-3 con par de anotadas gracias a sus dos primeros cuadrangulares en el máximo nivel de la pelota estadounidense.  A sus 22 primaveras, Fernández no solo hizo historia en la franquicia al cual pertenece, sino que también se alzó como el único venezolano que tiene un debut de esta magnitud.  Solo 6 peloteros antes que Fernández despacharon dos cuadrangulares en el dia de su debut; sin embargo, el único latino que lo había logrado fue el cubano Bert Campaneris con Atléticos de Kansas City, en 1964.
