00:00Meckler was the love of my life, and the father of our children.
00:07And I truly began to understand what he meant and why he was doing what he was doing.
00:16We'll be demonstrating here until freedom comes.
00:21Clearly he had a love for Mississippi.
00:24Meckler came into the movement, but he had his own understanding of where change had to be made at.
00:30It was his mission to make, not Mississippi, but the United States of America better.
00:36So he became the first field secretary for the Mississippi NAACP.
00:42I've had a number of threatening calls, people calling me saying they were going to kill me,
00:46saying they were going to blow my home up, and that I only had a few hours to live.
00:51I said, well, whenever my time comes, I'm ready.
