Uncovers a remarkable story of God’s providence unfolding for more than a century. From the urgent prayers of St. Elena Guerra, which inspired Pope Leo XIII to consecrate the twentieth century to the Holy Spirit, to the dramatic outpouring of the Spirit in Topeka, the historic revival at Azusa Street, and the surprising awakening among Catholics at Duquesne University in 1967, a powerful thread emerges.

00:03The world is questioning whether or not Christianity is true. The world is
00:07questioning whether or not Christians themselves are authentic, whether or not
00:10they live according to their witness, whether or not it's worth believing them.
00:14The world is suspicious. As cultures turn away from the Lord, we have to
00:19understand that unity plays a central role in our ability to evangelize the
00:25world. The Church is meant to look like the Church of the Acts of the Apostles and
00:31if you read Acts you see just how far we are from that. We really need the power
00:37of the Holy Spirit together. We need to love each other. We need to have unity
00:40across denominational lines in order to resist this evil. The fact that
00:45Christians are disunified very evidently and obviously is a scandal to the world.
00:52No one can look at Scripture and say this was Christ's intention.
00:56Jesus prayed for unity on the night before he died. We can stop there. There's no
01:04other reason needed for our unity yet there's more. Jesus said make them one
01:09Father that the world may know. It's tied to our effective evangelization of the
01:14world. The closer we come together the more effective our witness is, the more
01:20credible we become. I'm a Christian and that's who I am but am I in love with
01:26Jesus? Everybody say no you're doing it wrong we're doing it right. Jesus is the
01:31truth. That's where we should be focused. Only the Holy Spirit can stir up that
01:37desire in our hearts. The Holy Spirit has never stopped working or baptizing the
01:41people all throughout history but in the 20th century it was an explosion of an
01:47outpouring of the Holy Spirit. He calls us and commands us and that this is what he
01:53died for. Every time there's a major outpouring of the Holy Spirit God was
01:59leading the church to overcome its prejudice to say look at who all is in my
02:04church. Jesus says in the gospel I came to set the earth on fire and oh how I
02:12wish that it were already kindled. The yearning of Jesus to set his people on
02:18fire we need that again.
