00:00Either we travel via trains, cars, or public vehicles, it is important to ensure we remain safe throughout the trip.
00:07So authorities are reminding the public to be prepared, including planning of trips ahead of time.
00:12As Sheila Netividad lays out some travel tips in this report.
00:18This Holy Week, R.G. decided to plan his travel to his home province in Masbate ahead of time with
00:24his wife and child.
00:25For him, it's better to have a travel plan than risk the possibility of not being able to buy any
00:30more tickets.
00:40According to the Department of Transportation or DOTR, some train lines will temporarily suspend operations on selected dates this Holy
00:48Week for maintenance activities.
00:49This includes LRT Line 1, which will have no operations from April 2 to April 5, along with LRT Line
00:552 and MRT 3.
00:57As for buses, some terminals like PITX will continue operations while others may also temporarily suspend trips on the same
01:04dates.
01:05To ensure a safe and smooth trip, authorities are reminding the public of the following.
01:09First, prepare a go-bag.
01:11This should include the first aid kit, water, medicine, flashlight, and other essential items that may be needed during emergencies.
01:18Stay alert at all times, especially with the expected surge of travelers, which may increase the risk of accidents or
01:25illness.
01:26Second, plan your trip ahead.
01:27If online booking is available, it is best to secure tickets in advance.
01:32Otherwise, make sure to arrive early at terminals to avoid long lines and delays.
01:36Third, for motorists, always check blow baguettes plus D, battery, lights, oil, water, brake, air, gas, engine, tires, and documents
01:47to avoid breakdowns during travel.
01:49Finally, avoid posting your travel plans on social media to prevent security risks.
01:55Make sure your house is secured before leaving.
01:57Lock doors and unplug appliances.
01:59And while at terminals, stay vigilant.
02:02In case of emergencies, immediately call the National Hotline 911.
