00:00Jake, is there another thing that the royal family could do?
00:03I mean, they've acknowledged in previous statements
00:05the experiences of the victims and survivors.
00:07Do you think they need to do something,
00:09if they're not meeting the Dufresne family directly,
00:11doing something that will sort of speak to them?
00:14Well, they've already done a lot now, of course.
00:17What they've done can't bring back Virginia Dufresne.
00:20It can't help the family ease their grief.
00:22But obviously the king has acted decisively.
00:24He's stripped Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of his titles.
00:28He has been moved out of his home.
00:30He's being removed at some point from the line of succession.
00:33The king has acted decisively.
00:35I agree, actually.
00:36I think it would be inappropriate at this stage
00:38for His Majesty the King to meet with the families,
00:41given the ongoing investigation.
00:43And also given that it's such a heavily politicised issue
00:46within the United States,
00:48it might look like our monarch,
00:50who is above politics, quite correctly so,
00:52was in some way commenting or getting involved in politics
00:55in the United States.
00:55And I think that would be the wrong thing for him to do on this visit.
