00:19I had no idea whatsoever. To find out it was like a punch in the stomach, it came as a
00:27complete shock.
00:29What did you try and do when you found out your son was involved in the far right?
00:33I tried to speak to him about his involvement, but he just wouldn't engage with me at all.
00:41Tried to reach out, tried to understand why he'd become involved.
00:45But again, trying to have a conversation with him was just any kind of engagement really.
00:51It just no longer existed. He scowled at me, screamed at me.
00:57The only interaction that we had was when he tried to get me to think like he did.
01:03By then, we were so isolated from everyone else.
01:07There was no one really that I could reach out to.
01:10What would you say to someone who has a son involved in the far right now?
01:15If you have a son, a loved one, a family member or a friend that's involved in the far right,
01:22please do not try and think that you can do this on your own.
01:26Because it's very, very difficult.
01:30It's so destroying and it really hits and makes an impact upon you and your emotions.
01:38Reach out and get help from people who know how to go about this.
01:44Not only will they support you, they'll support the person involved.
01:49They'll offer advice on engagement.
01:53If you're not careful, it can go horribly, horribly wrong.
