00:39tahap persaingan.
00:53And I think Destiny is probably the only club or the only platform that can help us do that in
00:58that type of way.
00:59And when they give us these pathways for us to explore and for us to set our mind on,
01:04I feel like it gives us more motivation and more security about our future as football players.
01:09And we can, yes we do have to think about our life and stuff,
01:13but we are more secure about, okay maybe we can play football at this level without having to worry about
01:21my future sangat.
01:21Yes, I think so, very much. Especially in Asia and Malaysia.
01:26Like I said, we have so many talented players in this country.
01:30But unfortunately, these players cannot progress and cannot reach the best level
01:38because of the lack of exposure and opportunities in Malaysia and in Asia.
02:06That made Malaysia, I would say as a Malaysian, very proud, was one of the first,
02:13this was about two years or so back, when one of our players, Kyle,
02:19he went for scouting to two clubs, Darmstadt and Main 05.
02:25And these are Bundesliga 1 clubs, they are at the highest level.
02:29And Kyle went in and it was at night, they had their training.
02:33And he was going in for the under-17s.
02:36I believe, yeah, under-17s.
02:38And it was me, Sue, my wife, and the director of sports who was standing next to me.
02:45And we were looking from afar, the scouting program that was going, the training that was going on.
02:49And Kyle was the only player that was with the Mainz team being scouted.
02:54And he was competing in all the drills, the different technical drills, movements, everything, communication.
03:01And this was what I will never forget, was the director of sports turned and looked at me.
03:06And it was very cold.
03:08It was actually during winter.
03:11And he looked at us and said,
03:13we have never heard of Malaysia yet, the director of sports,
03:16who had sent players to come in for scouting at this level.
03:19But you must be very proud of your Malaysian player here, because he's doing really well.
03:26And I could see, of course, there are certain lags and all,
03:30because it's his first time there in Germany and scouting.
03:33But he told me that, and the aid of the training, usually they make their decisions.
03:38They tell you whether yes or no.
03:40They told us, give us three days.
03:41Technical director, head coach, and the assistant head coach are going to sit together to make a decision.
03:48Give us three days.
03:49And three days, they came back to us and told us, we are very keen.
03:53The speed that he has, the technical abilities, are actually not the same.
03:58But he could be better than some of the players.
04:01But at this moment, we cannot take him to play for us directly,
04:04because we are in the midst of our competition.
04:07And we are fighting.
04:08We are now fourth or fifth in the Bundesliga 1 under 17 category.
04:12So we cannot allow him to acclimatize to three or four games.
04:17If we lose one game, two games, it will affect our standing.
04:21So he said, which is the next club that he's going for scouting?
04:24And actually interested in him.
04:27And we said, it's Darmstadt.
04:29So that was where I said, send them to Darmstadt.
04:31We already listed him in our category for scouting.
04:34In one year, we will come back and we will watch him.
04:37So, but we could not stay in Mainz,
04:41because we couldn't find a school for him.
04:43So that's why we had to shift him back to near Walter Mannheim area.
04:52But he's still in the scouting list.
04:55So if there's any time that we want to move him to Mainz,
04:59his name is there.
05:01So it was a very proud moment for us as a Malaysian,
05:03to be able to see.
05:05We were really proud.
05:06Actually, tears came down our eyes.
05:07And I wish that this could motivate Malaysia.
05:10If Malaysia knew what these boys are doing,
05:13and even now they've already been there for three years,
05:15playing in Germany,
05:17the sacrifices that they have,
05:19you can never imagine.
05:20We can talk here, we may not know.
05:22But when you experience it and you journey with them,
05:27wow, it's amazing.
05:28Malaysia should be proud of our players that are there.
