06:43So I would sometimes be playing three back to back soccer games

06:47And I was always like center defense because I was like the number one defender
06:50So you were running a lot

06:54So did you have a chance to go like further in it?

07:11I've always wanted to see what the next thing is that I can try
07:15So when I kind of lost that love in my last year for soccer
07:18I was like, I wanna like start wrestling
07:20I found independent scenes in Australia
07:23When I went on holiday to Queensland
07:25I didn't even know that they were there
07:26I just saw a flyer in the market area in Queensland
07:30When we were walking around
07:31And I was like, there's wrestling in Australia?
07:33Like I didn't know that was possible
07:35Like I didn't know that was a thing like to start wrestling here
07:37I thought I had to move to America to start it
07:39Right, right
07:39So like once I got back to Adelaide
07:42I looked it up
07:42I found Wright City Wrestling
07:43And with that last year of soccer
07:45Mom literally made me play my last year
07:47Because she had already bought me soccer boots
07:49You're gonna wear those
07:50So you had to still do
07:51I had to do an extra year, yeah
07:52Like I had to
07:53I was like, I'm so sorry
07:56And then fast forward
07:58And now you are wrestling in Australia

08:01It's wild, it's so wild
08:03I like, I literally started at 16 years old
08:05And I didn't miss any training session
08:08I loved it from the start
08:09And I bust my ass
08:10I was always
08:11I was always like the only woman pretty much

08:14And then I was also like the youngest one there
08:17So I learned a lot like wrestling
08:20The guys pretty much
08:21And they're like in their early 30s
08:24Maybe late 20s
08:25And it was just like
08:27Growing up in wrestling is a whole different thing

08:32And before we sat down to have this convo

08:42And hearing that you've been doing it since you were 16

14:54you so I'm the same way like roller coasters and horror movies I'm the same way they scare me which
14:59is why I like them yes like I'm not someone who's like oh I do roller coasters but I don't

15:10terrified and when it ended I was like that was fun yeah it was fun but no but I was

17:39any pressure to for this match Wrestlemania matches are a huge deal last year the three of you had maybe
17:45the best match of the weekend yeah not just saying that because you're here it was you knew it was
17:48amazing it was awesome um is there any part of you that feels pressure to kind of make sure this

17:56is what it could be because Jade for as impressive as she is she does not have close to the
18:02level of
18:02experience that you have as at this point you are a veteran at 29 um so yeah do you have

18:16that a lot of people have wanted for a long time especially at Wrestlemania there's already so much
18:22pressure going into that day and into that match and also going off of last year it was the same

18:28Wrestlemania 39 when I faced Charlotte then going into Wrestlemania 40 I was like I have to
18:32do just as well as I did the year before like I really have to but now stepping in with
18:36someone
18:36that has only had limited experience within the wrestling industry compared to a lot of people on
18:43the show I do have that pressure to kind of uplift her and bring her to a different level so
18:49we can go
18:49out there and we can make magic just like everyone expects from us um we'll see what happens you know
18:54like it's unpredictable wrestling is so unpredictable anything can really happen but I know I'm going to go out
19:00there and give it 110 percent and try and get her to try new things and like level up her
19:07own game

21:07kind of see this evolution as well so i would love to hear from you as a lady in wrestling

21:12talk about that evolution and how you feel kind of being the as he put it the face of wwe
21:17and uh one
21:18of the most popular wrestlers in this moment um it's it's honestly really cool it's really bloody
21:24cool seeing how far the women's division has come like the women before me they really struggled to
21:29get the opportunities that we get these days but they made every moment count when they went out
21:34there and it's only grown so much over the past few years and it's just like continuing to grow and
21:40i'm excited to see where it heads after i'm done as well um but i know all us women have
21:46really put in
21:47the time and the effort into everything that we get whether it's 30 seconds or 20 minutes like it
21:52doesn't matter how long we get we're going to make sure that we're talked about by the end of it
21:56and it's been really awesome like seeing how the women's evolution has kind of
22:02grown i know we had to wait what was it eight years for the evolution too yeah which was a
22:07wild
22:08thing but i feel like after evolution too which is an all women's pay-per-view i feel like we
22:14went out there and we showed everyone exactly what we can do and i'm hoping that
22:18it takes less time now for evolution three um i really hope that everyone watched that and went
22:24wow like this needs to be a yearly thing um because we're really busting our ass every time we go

22:31there and we're making sure that we're making as much history that we can along the way but we're
22:37trying to set up the future for better things as well like i really want to leave this company where
22:42the women's division is better off and that's exactly what i was gonna just ask you about
22:46what legacy do you want to leave and maybe even uh words for aspiring young women who want to be
22:53in
22:53wrestling who are athletes and just you know because even just around the globe we're seeing women here
22:58in the united states especially with uh what the wnba is able to do the last couple years there's a
23:03lot
23:03of uh momentum yeah um my main thing is like something that's really driven me is to prove
23:11the doubt is wrong we're gonna be doubted every step of the way a lot of these sports they're male
23:17dominated sports so there's gonna be a lot of doubt but you have to let that fuel that fire inside

23:23and you have to prove the doubt is wrong if you are so set on something and you love something
23:28so much
23:29you can accomplish anything you want within that whatever you set your mind to you can you can
23:33accomplish it doesn't matter if you're a female or a male like go out there and live your dream
23:38accomplish what you want to accomplish and let the people talk because there's gonna be people people
23:44that love you and people that hate you but if they're talking about you you're doing something
23:48that's right you're getting your name out there the haters they talk your name more than the people
23:52that like you believe me i know i got a lot of haters but all they're acting like is a
23:58crazy fan
23:59right so yes let that fuel you and just keep doing your thing because they're getting your name out
24:04there for you and it's not like ria was given some sort of insane physical gifts like on tv you

24:11big larger than life and you're very jacked up depending on what level of jacked up you are you're
24:15pretty depending on the lighting that day you're the lighting that day or you know whatever but like
24:19you know you're not 5 11 yeah you know like you you've done the work like you'd be this person
24:26didn't just like pop out that way spawn yeah a ton a ton of work i think for me one
24:33of my favorite
24:33things of the whole wwe experience when i've gone with peter is to see how dedicated the fans are i

24:41seeing the little girls who are full of excitement yeah and for like either whether they're bianca fans
24:47with a big braid or just and you know what i mean but they're so excited and just connected to
24:54you
24:54so to me that is fantastic that you're inspiring all these but little girls i'm talking about like
24:59eight year olds yeah so that to me is that's beautiful thing it's so wild because like you
25:03look at the crowd from like when i was growing up to now and it was like majority like men
25:09yeah and
25:10now it's like everyone no everyone you hear the females in the audience you hear the kids in the
25:15audience and it's really really cool and it's like you're just reminding them that they can
25:20do whatever they want and and and i'm assuming that's changed in the people who line up to meet
25:24you as well or line up to meet any of the fans right there's probably hardcore wrestling fans who
25:30were doubters right of women's capabilities and and what they were going to bring yeah uh who may
25:35not have been in line to get an autograph and i'm wondering now are you seeing these hardcore fans
25:40who obviously love the beauty of the women right but respect the physical capabilities and the
25:48craftsmanship of what you're doing in the ring also yeah i mean the people in my lines for my meet
25:54and
25:54greets it's a bunch of everyone you know like there's there's grandmas yeah there's grandpas and
26:02like they're they're so excited for it as well and like the grandmas are so cute when they come up

26:07they're like oh my god ria like i love you and it's just like you're like my grandma right now
26:11i love you um but like you see everyone you see like the old school wrestling fans that come with
26:17like their old school wrestling jackets and all that you see like the families where like the mom's
26:23excited to meet you they got like the i'm your mommy shirt on i'm like you're my mommy though like
26:27all these her brand is mommy by the way that's her yeah yeah but like you see everyone you see

26:32you see like teenagers everyone and they're all just so excited and so like proud and it's it's
26:40nice for me to see like it reminds me why i do my job and why i try to captivate
26:46the audience and make
