00:07It's a very strange time for Microsoft, since many of its once-exclusive games can
00:13now be found on the platform for one of its biggest competitors.
00:17Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're looking at games that used to be exclusive to Xbox,
00:22but can now be played on PlayStation.
00:29But, before we dive in, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe and
00:35ring the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
00:39Senua's Saga – Hellblade 2
00:53While 2017's original Hellblade could be played on a variety of platforms, it seemed
00:57like things were going to be very different for the sequel.
01:00In mid-2018, developer Ninja Theory was acquired by Microsoft, and the team announced a follow-up
01:06in late 2019 as a PC and Xbox Series X and S exclusive.
01:11It was actually the first exclusive announced for Microsoft's new platform, but it didn't
01:17stay that way for long.
01:18A year after release, a PS5 version was announced, launching in August of 2025.
01:34It came with a variety of new features, which were also implemented in the other versions
01:38through a free update.
01:39As far as exclusive games jumping platforms go, this one seemed to cause less of a fuss than
01:45many others.
01:47It's a promise, not a prison.
01:52Sea of Thieves
01:53Once you make it through, I will be waiting for you.
01:58A world of adventure beckons.
02:01Although it had a rocky start, Rare's Sea of Thieves eventually cultivated a wide and passionate
02:07audience on PC and Xbox One through constant updates.
02:11Drawn in by the allure of going on a wacky pirate adventure, it grew to be one of the
02:16most popular and commercially successful titles available on Xbox One.
02:21Just a month after it was ported to the Series X and S in early 2024, it made the jump
02:27to PlayStation
02:285.
02:29I say you're as ready as you'll ever be for what's ahead.
02:32It came alongside the news of Microsoft's strategy for its games to reach as many players
02:37as possible, no matter the platform.
02:39Interestingly enough, it was also a first for Rare as the studio had never released a game
02:45on PlayStation before.
02:47You must be ready for all this and more.
02:51Grounded.
02:51I am here in the back yard.
02:54Down in the back yard, I mean I am speaking to you from the back yard.
03:01I am tiny!
03:04Similar to Ninja Theory, Obsidian Entertainment was also acquired by Microsoft in 2018, and
03:10the studio got to work on producing several exclusives for its platforms.
03:15Grounded tasks you with surviving in a back yard after having been shrunken down, with all
03:20kinds of insects now posing huge threats.
03:27a pretty decent hit, big enough to earn a sequel that's currently in early access.
03:32However, after releasing in fall of 2022, it made the jump to PS4 and 5, as well as Nintendo
03:39Switch, in April of 2024.
03:41It wasn't the only Obsidian title to do so, as just a couple of months prior, the award-winning
03:48RPG Pentiment did the same thing.
03:58Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
04:12In its quest to seemingly buy up as many studios as possible, Microsoft made a bid for ZeniMax
04:19Media in 2020 for the hefty sum of $7.5 billion.
04:24Included in that purchase was Bethesda.
04:27While not all of the publisher's titles were planned for Xbox exclusivity, others, like
04:32MachineGames, Indiana Jones, and the Great Circle, were.
04:36Is that the best you got?
04:37Umquim!
04:38Umquim!
04:39Gotcha!
04:42Actually, it started development under the belief it would be multi-platform, before turning
04:48into an exclusive for PC and Series X and S after the purchase.
04:52But then, less than six months after its release, the game still came to PS5.
04:58Phil Spencer, Microsoft Gaming's CEO, stated that Xbox had seen success with bringing other
05:04former exclusives to more platforms.
05:06And the Great Circle is also planned to release on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
05:23Forza Horizon 5
05:33Forza had long been Xbox's flagship racing series, stretching all the way back to the original
05:40console.
05:40That all changed with Forza Horizon 5.
05:44It was a huge launch for the studio back in 2021, winning a multitude of awards and bringing
05:50in more than 10 million players in the first week alone.
05:54Now, even more players can enjoy it since it also launched on PS5 in April of 2025.
06:05This is the equivalent of if Sony's flagship racer, Gran Turismo, was suddenly available on
06:11the Series X and S. And this seems to be the way of the future for the series. Forza Horizon
06:176 is currently in development. While it will most likely launch on PC and Xbox first, it's
06:23also planned to release for PlayStation.
06:25I can do fast. Let's go.
06:29Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
06:38Even weirder than a long-running exclusive franchise jumping to multi-platform is one
06:43that literally has Microsoft in the title.
06:46Microsoft has been publishing the Flight Simulator series on PC since 1982, and it saw a really
06:53strong return in 2020 with an entry that also launched on Xbox Series X and S, which was
06:59praised as one of the most exceptionally detailed and realistic simulation games ever.
07:12The 2024 edition wasn't quite as well received, but it was still a technological marvel.
07:18So, it came as quite a big shock when, during Sony's September 2025 state of play, it was announced
07:25that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 would be coming to PlayStation 5 in December.
07:31Microsoft Flight Simulator
07:40Hi-Fi Rush
07:42An error has occurred. Please proceed to the checkpoint.
07:47Okay, checkpoint. Where's that?
07:51Don't worry. Probably no big deal.
07:53Another exclusive that Xbox got to nab through the Bethesda purchase was the awesome rhythm-action
07:58mashup, Hi-Fi Rush. Developed by Tango Gameworks, it was released in early 2023 to strong reviews,
08:05and eventually gained a decently sized player base and a handful of awards.
08:10Bethesda chose to keep the game's existence quiet to avoid skepticism, since Tango's previous games
08:15were all in the horror genre. The game was released the same day it was announced, also launching on Game
08:20Pass to help procure an audience.
08:29Assumedly, after positive reception, Bethesda moved forward with a PS5 release in March of 2024.
08:36But it isn't as if Microsoft appreciated its success anyway, since it closed Tango a few months later.
08:42Thankfully, publisher Crafton acquired the studio, along with the rights to Hi-Fi Rush.
08:54The Outer Worlds 2
08:56If you or your neighbor's government has turned tyrannical, or sold themselves out to greedy corporate interests,
09:04just commandeer your escape drone, and send the Earth Directorate and SOS, and we will respond.
09:10The first Outer Worlds game was already in development for multiple platforms by the time Microsoft acquired a developer, Obsidian
09:17Entertainment, in 2018.
09:19But, with that purchase, everyone thought that the sequel would be exclusive to PC and Xbox Series X and S.
09:26You were in command here. I apologize if I allowed my nerves to get the better of me.
09:31Plus, since it was announced during a joint Xbox and Bethesda showcase at E3 2021, and with Xbox taking over
09:39publishing duties, that seemed like a safe assumption.
09:42But then, a bigger trailer in late 2024 revealed that it would also be coming to PlayStation 5.
09:48There wasn't even a timed exclusivity window.
09:51It was released on PS5 the same day as Xbox and PC on October 29th, 2025.
10:06Gears of War Reloaded
10:08I've got good news. We have a plan to end this war, once and for all.
10:16Yeah, right.
10:16Gears of War is one of the most cherished IPs you can find on Xbox.
10:22One that, up until recently, most players would swear was never coming to PlayStation.
10:27But, clearly, anything is possible.
10:30Reloaded is an updated port of the 2015 Ultimate Edition,
10:34itself a remaster of the original game that launched in 2006 on Xbox 360.
10:47In addition to PC and Xbox Series X and S, it was released on PS5 in August of 2025.
10:54Sony's platform was also the only one to receive a physical version, which is odd.
11:00But, Microsoft did release it for free to all Xbox players who had previously purchased the Ultimate Edition.
11:07Nah, screw that. I got an idea.
11:09Oh, yeah? What is it, smart guy?
11:11Enough. Let's move.
11:13Halo Campaign Evolved.
11:16Fire Team Charlie, we're on our way.
11:20Touchdown! Hit it, Mime!
11:25If Gears of War coming to PlayStation is weird,
11:28then Halo making the jump is a hell-has-frozen-over situation.
11:32Despite countless rumors circulating about Xbox's most recognizable franchise releasing on Sony's platform,
11:38it still came as a surprise to learn that a remake of the groundbreaking original was coming to PS5.
11:52Announced in October of 2025, it's slated to be released sometime in 2026,
11:58and that will apparently be just the beginning of Halo on PlayStation.
12:03Alongside the announcement, franchise community manager Brian Girard stated that more entries would also come to PlayStation in the future,
12:11and Microsoft Gaming Content and Studio's head Matt Booty stated it was another step in Xbox's plan to bring its
12:18games to more players regardless of platform.
12:21Still, it will feel incredibly strange to control Master Chief with a DualSense.
12:27Lock and roll, park and roll!
12:31Give them hell, Chief.
12:34Are you excited to see more Xbox games available on PlayStation?
