00:00:28What's up, what's up, friends?
00:00:30Welcome to a special edition here on the TV Terminal.
00:00:34My name's Adam Bale, senior editor over at thecoalition.com.
00:00:37My name is Lawrence, a.k.a. a punk with toys on all the socials.
00:00:41With the OGs of the channel, people.
00:00:43There's a lot of faces, but we are the OGs here, just so you know.
00:00:47What is our channel?
00:00:49I mean, technically your channel, but we started it.
00:00:52We started together.
00:00:53We high-five, and when it blows up and we surpass everyone else, we share it in the glory.
00:00:58Just so you know.
00:00:59That's how this works, people.
00:01:01In the tens of dollars that YouTube will have.
00:01:04Gazillions of tens of dollars.
00:01:06Tons of pennies.
00:01:07Tons of pennies.
00:01:08But overall, people, real quick, thanks for the likes, the subs, the hypes.
00:01:12We see the numbers go up, and it's always great.
00:01:15You know, maybe not everybody wants to comment.
00:01:17That's fine.
00:01:17Sometimes you just watch.
00:01:19I'm like, okay, I get it.
00:01:20And then you move on.
00:01:21That's great.
00:01:21You know, it all counts in the metrics for us.
00:01:24So I just wanted to get that out of the way.
00:01:26Definitely in regards to Marshalls, because it was iffy on the reaction.
00:01:30We saw that.
00:01:30Even not here, but just Rotten Tomato, Medicare.
00:01:33Everybody.
00:01:34It's all over the place.
00:01:35But people, hey, are checking it out.
00:01:37They're commenting.
00:01:38And we want to thank you.
00:01:39Thank you for that.
00:01:40But if you're familiar with our content, you're familiar with us talking about the shows that we were looking to
00:01:46cover.
00:01:47Madison was on that list.
00:01:49Now, this is a limited series.
00:01:51And then it just showed up.
00:01:53There you go.
00:01:53That's what I was just going to get at.
00:01:55But, yeah, you know, part of the press, I get emails from all these networks.
00:01:59Nothing from Paramount on this one.
00:02:01Lauren sends me a message.
00:02:02Hey, I just watched three episodes of Madison.
00:02:05I'm like, why is this guy lying to me?
00:02:07Why does he lie all the time?
00:02:08And I was like, no, sure enough, it is posted.
00:02:10They just, like, stealth dropped it.
00:02:12They just went, yeah, there you go.
00:02:14Three episodes.
00:02:15Three episodes on the 14th, and then the next three episodes are on the 21st.
00:02:20Really?
00:02:21They're not even spreading them out?
00:02:23I thought that it's, no, that's.
00:02:25I thought it was just.
00:02:27From what I can tell here, I got IMDb here.
00:02:30There's 12 episodes right now.
00:02:32So I go look at the episode list.
00:02:35Let's see here.
00:02:38Episode 4, 5, and 6, all of the 21st.
00:02:42And then you go into season 2.
00:02:44And there's no dates.
00:02:46But it does say 20, it does say 26 still for the first three episodes.
00:02:51So, again, weird way to roll it out.
00:02:56Very weird.
00:02:57And because of that, we decided, you know what, are we going to cover this still?
00:03:00You know what, let's just do it.
00:03:01So this is a different approach.
00:03:02It's not going to be a long form.
00:03:03You'll see it in the title.
00:03:05It's not going to say breakdown.
00:03:06This is just a review from episodes 1 and 3.
00:03:08We watched all three episodes.
00:03:10And to give our thoughts, the pros, the cons.
00:03:13Should you just go and watch it now and binge your three episodes?
00:03:16You know.
00:03:17So I have my issues.
00:03:18So how do you want to start?
00:03:20Do you want to start?
00:03:21Do you want me to start about?
00:03:22Well, it was my idea to cover this.
00:03:25Because I said to you, I said to you, hey, you know what, do you want to just talk about
00:03:28this for like a half hour?
00:03:29Just give a little bit.
00:03:30Because I actually messaged you.
00:03:33And I was on my way to the gym.
00:03:34And this was yesterday.
00:03:36And I was like, man, I just watched the Madison.
00:03:39And there's going to be spoilers.
00:03:40So, again, if you don't want to be spoiled, here's what I'm going to tell you right now.
00:03:44Now, in my opinion, all right, before, if you say you're going to watch it, if you watch
00:03:50the first episode and want to quit, I'm going to say don't.
00:03:53At least watch the first three episodes because you are going to be shocked within the first
00:03:5820 minutes of this that may actually make you mad.
00:04:02But I think you have to watch it out.
00:04:04So I watch it all three episodes.
00:04:06And I think that was smart on their part.
00:04:08So anyway, I watched it.
00:04:11I messaged you.
00:04:12I had about 12 minutes to go.
00:04:15And I'm like, I had to get to the gym and get it done.
00:04:18And this was yesterday.
00:04:20And I said, hey, did you see the Madison dropped?
00:04:23And I said, I made it like, I have like 15 minutes to go or whatever.
00:04:28It might be the saddest show I've ever watched from the beginning.
00:04:33And we've all seen the reviews.
00:04:35All right, we've all seen the previews.
00:04:36Because here comes spoiler alert.
00:04:38I'm telling you right now, shut it off if you don't want to know.
00:04:45But Kurt Russell and his brother, Matthew Fox, another big actor from Lost.
00:04:54And he was a doctor, if you remember.
00:04:57That's his brother.
00:04:58So Preston Claiborne, that's Kurt Russell.
00:05:01We've seen him running around the plane and everything.
00:05:03Well, they go fishing.
00:05:04They die within the first 20 minutes.
00:05:07Now, I'm sitting here like, wait a minute.
00:05:08How does this continue on?
00:05:11And I think to do a show that you already gave it, you greenlit for two seasons, it's going to
00:05:16be hard when the main character, one of the two main characters, is killed off within the first 20 minutes.
00:05:21So now I'm just thinking we're going to have flashbacks.
00:05:23I don't want to do a flashback.
00:05:26But I think they've done it in a wonderful, wonderful way, watching the first three episodes.
00:05:33What do you think so far?
00:05:34And again, we're going to get into, I'm going to get into the reason why I think.
00:05:38But what do you think so far after seeing that?
00:05:42So if we're breaking from episode, if we're going to break up, yeah, you know what?
00:05:46We could do that.
00:05:47We could just go from episode to episode to episode.
00:05:48So right now, that's your thought of episode one, right?
00:05:51Well, I have no notes.
00:05:52Me neither.
00:05:53All right.
00:05:55I'm going all in memory of how it gets from point A to point B.
00:05:58So if I go based off of the first, as someone, and I'll just, a little backstory, I mean, right?
00:06:02From New York, born and raised, Alphabet City, Lower East Side, Manhattan, city proper.
00:06:08Not all from the city and upstate Binghamton.
00:06:10No, no, no, no.
00:06:11From the city.
00:06:12This comes up because the opening scene here, we have Paige, that's the daughter, right?
00:06:18The main daughter of the family here.
00:06:20And she gets mugged right there on Fifth Avenue.
00:06:24She just says Fifth Avenue, right?
00:06:26She tells everybody Fifth Avenue.
00:06:27Punching her face.
00:06:27Punching her face.
00:06:29Right?
00:06:29You see a guy just filming with his camera.
00:06:32I call BS on this right off the bat for a few reasons for that street.
00:06:36They could have said all kinds of streets.
00:06:37But Fifth Avenue, if you're from the city, then you know, there's cops like almost every
00:06:41corner in their car waiting because it's such a busy street.
00:06:45There's so many businesses, jewelry stores, other high-end stores there.
00:06:48They want to have a presence just so these type of things don't happen.
00:06:52So for this to take place, I was like, all right, fine.
00:06:54I'll look past it.
00:06:56What upset me even more is that after they go and they give a little speech, the mom starts
00:07:00saying, well, why were you walking?
00:07:02You should be in a car.
00:07:04You can't.
00:07:05If anybody knows that shopping area, it's not like a mall where you go and you park in
00:07:09a parking garage and then you go in and you're in the mall.
00:07:12No, you have to go on foot.
00:07:14So I don't understand.
00:07:14You can't even park outside.
00:07:16They got no parking.
00:07:17They have buses.
00:07:18Come on now.
00:07:19That's BS.
00:07:20And it's BS for people that supposedly are from the city.
00:07:23That's what they keep harping on, right?
00:07:24What's that term they use?
00:07:25They're mice.
00:07:27They're mice of the city.
00:07:28That's what they come up with.
00:07:29No, urbanites.
00:07:30We would call ourselves that, but we don't say mice.
00:07:32It's so dumb.
00:07:33Anyway, that was the one part that pissed me off of all this, just to harp on what they're
00:07:38saying with the whole New York.
00:07:39Another part in the same episode, though, when she does call up Kurt Russell or no, Kurt
00:07:44Russell calls her, her husband, Preston, says he's staying over with his brother to go fishing
00:07:50on another fishing trip on the other side of Montana somewhere, right?
00:07:54Some private area.
00:07:55It's going to be great fishing.
00:07:56She says, oh, yeah, by the way, she was mugged.
00:07:58Where was she mugged?
00:07:59She changes the location.
00:08:01She says, oh, in the village.
00:08:03The village is downtown, doesn't connect to Fifth Avenue.
00:08:06That's two different areas.
00:08:08Don't go there.
00:08:09And I felt like the reason why they said that is because, oh, well, if I see the village
00:08:13and I sit down there, it's a mixed bag of people.
00:08:16You got NYU.
00:08:16You got other stuff.
00:08:18You got other communities.
00:08:19You don't need to go there.
00:08:20People know they know.
00:08:21And I think that's what they were saying, implying when they wrote this.
00:08:24I was like, well, you know the type of people there.
00:08:28And he even said, oh, why was she walking?
00:08:31Come on.
00:08:31It's like a car.
00:08:32Oh, please.
00:08:33If you're from the city, you don't drive.
00:08:36You know, I have family relatives that still don't have a license, you know, and they're
00:08:41in their 40s.
00:08:42There's no need for it.
00:08:44Well, I'm going to play devil's advocate here.
00:08:46And if someone lives outside of Detroit, understand not everyone's been to New York.
00:08:53Not everyone wants to go to New York.
00:08:54They just know what they've heard and you want to hit key points that someone's going
00:09:00to be like, oh, I've heard of the village.
00:09:01I've heard of Fifth Avenue.
00:09:03But it makes it seem like it's unfair and it's bad.
00:09:07So first off, I've had people ask me outside of Michigan, what is 8 Mile?
00:09:15It's probably the most famous street ever now.
00:09:18I just know it from Eminem, the movie.
00:09:20That's what I'm talking about.
00:09:21People ask me what 8 Mile is.
00:09:24Everyone in Detroit knows 8 Mile is the road that divides the suburbs from Detroit.
00:09:30But in the movie, he makes it seem like it's a bad area.
00:09:32Like once you cross over, it's bad.
00:09:35That's it.
00:09:36That's what I'm saying.
00:09:36When did you ever hear Fifth Avenue as being bad or the village as being bad?
00:09:42They're implying that it's bad.
00:09:44That's not the case.
00:09:45And that's what I'm saying.
00:09:47That's wrong.
00:09:48Now, you also mentioned about no police officers.
00:09:51She sees a police officer right away and goes over and talks to him.
00:09:57No, she does when it comes by.
00:09:58Yep.
00:09:59And they ask questions.
00:10:01And she doesn't want to answer because she doesn't want to stereotype anyone into the race.
00:10:08You tell them what you see.
00:10:09It's not a stereotype.
00:10:10It's what it is.
00:10:11It's a description.
00:10:12Remember, but she's also saying he was in his 30s but couldn't tell you what color.
00:10:16And she even says, I don't want to tell you.
00:10:19That was so dumb.
00:10:20That was whatever.
00:10:21That's what she did.
00:10:22I would not have done that.
00:10:24You say what it is.
00:10:25Whoever it is.
00:10:26But basically, they're setting up that these are these little prissy little girls.
00:10:32That's how they've been raised.
00:10:33No, I get that.
00:10:34Okay.
00:10:35I get that.
00:10:35They have been raised like this and they've allowed it.
00:10:38And that is what we see in episodes two and three, in my opinion.
00:10:42Oh, man, that was so – those girls, the daughter, and then just that whole – you
00:10:47know, it's also that tear, that prissiness, that high society.
00:10:52I can't.
00:10:53I can't stand it.
00:10:54And in any context.
00:10:55I can't see it when I see it for Royals, when shows do about the Royals.
00:10:58Oh, hello.
00:10:59And I can't see it when we've seen it in like Secession and a few other shows.
00:11:04But I think that's the whole point of it.
00:11:06That's the whole point, right?
00:11:08And we don't know how they earn their money, right?
00:11:11No.
00:11:11We don't know how he made their money.
00:11:13No.
00:11:14He's clearly from –
00:11:16He doesn't come from money.
00:11:18He doesn't come from money.
00:11:19We learned from in episode three that they didn't come from money because there was a
00:11:23scene where the wife was – Stacey, I think there was – maybe I'm –
00:11:27Stacey.
00:11:28Right?
00:11:28It is.
00:11:28Okay.
00:11:29Where she's remembering a time when she was talking to press him on the phone.
00:11:34And she's like, oh, remember when we lived in that small apartment and we ate ramen?
00:11:38Yeah.
00:11:39And she's talking about the whole thing.
00:11:40But I forgot to buy ramen somehow when I went shopping this morning.
00:11:42That's epic.
00:11:43Now, exactly.
00:11:45Do you buy the box?
00:11:46We buy the box.
00:11:46We just –
00:11:47It depends.
00:11:48We buy the box or I buy the box and also I buy individuals, whichever one.
00:11:53Yeah.
00:11:53I love the box.
00:11:54All right.
00:11:54But the point is, is that they bring this up, right?
00:11:58She brings up –
00:11:58So it's like, okay, so you've worked your way up.
00:12:00From where?
00:12:01I don't know.
00:12:02She's a shitty girl, though.
00:12:03Right?
00:12:04Exactly.
00:12:04But if that's the case, then these things carry over.
00:12:07A lot of the things of what makes you who you are and the type of person you are carry
00:12:12over to your children.
00:12:13They always say, wait, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.
00:12:16That type of thing.
00:12:17I don't see how this could all be turned off once they started making money.
00:12:21Because as you see these kids, she even calls them like prissy little bitches or something like that.
00:12:25And was it episode two when they – one of the daughters, the granddaughter mouthed off at the guy who
00:12:32came over, the cowboy, to bring over some food.
00:12:34Great gesture.
00:12:36Well, let's get there because leading up to this, there's a lot to it.
00:12:40Like where are you getting –
00:12:42I'm all over the place.
00:12:43We didn't run notes.
00:12:44That's what I'm saying.
00:12:45I hope.
00:12:45So – but think about it.
00:12:48So they end up – because they're fishing.
00:12:52He extends it.
00:12:54And then he makes mention earlier about, hey, you know what?
00:12:59Are you sure we don't need to leave?
00:13:00And he was like, no, there's not supposed to be anything.
00:13:02Then his brother tells him, hey, we need to go.
00:13:05So they're in this plane, and it's all rough.
00:13:07The SESTAs.
00:13:08And then it crashes.
00:13:11You're really shocked that they died.
00:13:12You're really shocked that they died.
00:13:13I'm totally blown away.
00:13:17I mean, there's so many – I don't even want to call them flashbacks because what
00:13:23they are are excerpts in his journal, and when she was talking to him, she knows why
00:13:30he was writing this because they were having conversations about this.
00:13:33So I guess they are flashbacks, but it's – she remembers the conversations as he was
00:13:39writing the stuff in these journals.
00:13:40And this is very important as we move on.
00:13:43Yeah, yeah.
00:13:43And I think the daughter mentioned that.
00:13:45They were married 40 years?
00:13:4640 years and never fought.
00:13:49Never fought and never went on this trip to visit the brother.
00:13:53Now, that is something where I have some of an issue.
00:13:56But she does constantly talk about how, like, once he gets indoor plumbing, I'll come.
00:14:00And considering there's a hornet's nest in the shitter or in the French there, yeah, I don't
00:14:06know why that wasn't addressed.
00:14:07Like, that's one of my – that's another gripe.
00:14:09Like, why would you –
00:14:10Get an RV.
00:14:11You know what I mean?
00:14:12Rent an RV.
00:14:13Or – because it was – the closest hotel was in Bozeman, and that was two hours out.
00:14:18So I get that.
00:14:19But get an RV then.
00:14:20But he said that was the closest motel.
00:14:23But who knows if they were looking for just, like, ones off the side of the road.
00:14:27Because they are close to a town.
00:14:29You know, they're not that far from a town.
00:14:32Yeah.
00:14:32But it doesn't seem to have a lot of resources when it comes to, like, medical and all that
00:14:36stuff.
00:14:36Because it's –
00:14:37Well, yeah.
00:14:37Yeah.
00:14:37There's no hospital and everything like that.
00:14:39But this is how – I mean, this is how I assume that it is in these smaller places.
00:14:44So, anyway, what you have is she gets the call while they're out – well, while they're
00:14:51out to – while they're out to eat.
00:14:54She's with her best friend.
00:14:56She picks up the phone, doesn't know – asking, hey, do we know anyone out here?
00:15:02And then they say, hey, you need to come – you know, we need to identify the body.
00:15:06And she loses it like anyone would, right?
00:15:09Anyone would.
00:15:10I'm not faulting.
00:15:11The friend picks it up.
00:15:13You know, she doesn't want to be touched.
00:15:14I want to say this is one of the most realistic things because you never know how you're going
00:15:18to handle.
00:15:19Some people want to be hugged.
00:15:20Other people, they don't want to be touched.
00:15:23It's a shock.
00:15:24It's a shock.
00:15:24I've seen – I had a friend of mine collapse.
00:15:27I remember they were sitting at their desk and they received a call.
00:15:30And then all of a sudden I look and he just fell on the floor.
00:15:32Yeah.
00:15:33And I was like, what the hell?
00:15:34I went running over, picked up the phone.
00:15:36Horrible.
00:15:37Yeah.
00:15:37Everyone handles things differently.
00:15:38And one thing that you touched on is when they said, hey, they went 40 years, they never
00:15:42fought.
00:15:43Now, I lost my mom when I was 13 years old.
00:15:46I never saw my parents fight.
00:15:47I'm not saying they never did.
00:15:49I never saw them fight my entire life.
00:15:51And I've had their friends tell me, like, we never saw them fight.
00:15:56As a matter of fact, I had my aunt say, the one time that I can remember your mom getting
00:16:03mad at your dad, she locked herself in her bedroom.
00:16:08This is when they were still in high school.
00:16:09And your dad just sat there and waited for her to calm down and come out.
00:16:14So, to me, that's something that can be realistic.
00:16:17I can't believe that someone can go 40 years without fighting.
00:16:20But, you know, I've also been single for, it seems like, 40 years now.
00:16:25But then when it comes to the two daughters, they're both married, right?
00:16:29Abigail is married to some guy named Dallas.
00:16:32Abigail is divorced.
00:16:33Well, she's divorced now, but she had married this guy and has two kids.
00:16:37You know, those are the two kids that are there.
00:16:38And then Paige is with her husband, Russell, and he's, you know, part of the conversation
00:16:43here.
00:16:43We don't see Dallas in this, but find out some interesting stuff about him.
00:16:48Well, I really did enjoy what she said to Dallas when he's like, you took the kids to
00:16:54Montana and she lost it because it's like, well, I didn't know where you were.
00:17:00You find, you know, you come here and pick them up if that's what you want.
00:17:03My dad is important.
00:17:05Like, and she's absolutely right.
00:17:06And we learned a lot about Dallas and what he asked, asked for in the divorce, which
00:17:13is very, very ballsy.
00:17:15I'm just going to say that.
00:17:16Yeah.
00:17:16What was it?
00:17:17He gets support.
00:17:20He asked for the condo.
00:17:23Yeah.
00:17:23Now the parents are paying for everything.
00:17:26And we find out at the end of episode three, like, she's like, we're done.
00:17:30Like you guys are done.
00:17:32You find it on your own.
00:17:33If that's what.
00:17:33Yeah.
00:17:33The mom, the mom is cutting everybody off.
00:17:36Because the other thing is, um, Paul, the brother has no one, no next of kin.
00:17:43So everything would have went directly to Preston.
00:17:46So Preston was passed away.
00:17:48Everything goes to Stacy.
00:17:49That means that ranch.
00:17:51No, we don't, we also don't know what they own to be this rich.
00:17:56Unless I missed that.
00:17:57No, they haven't said anything.
00:17:59Uh, we sort of heard it early in the, in the episode where, um, Paul sort of implied
00:18:06that he was part of the city life also, because he's like, yeah, I had to give all that up.
00:18:10And ever since I've been out here, I never wanted to go back.
00:18:13And then that's when I was like, yeah, I wish I, but we don't know what type of business
00:18:17they were in.
00:18:18But he's been, and, but he talks about like, he goes, I don't care about the money because
00:18:23Kurt gets, and that's Kurt.
00:18:25Preston gives that one story about when I think they were in the Hamptons or somewhere.
00:18:29And he's like, you know, I don't care.
00:18:30Is it, let me tell the story.
00:18:32Yeah.
00:18:32Yeah.
00:18:33And he tells the story.
00:18:34Like these people have nothing.
00:18:35They have everything, but they're miserable.
00:18:38Like they spent all their life trying to get the money to get there.
00:18:41And they're old now.
00:18:43And they can't really enjoy it.
00:18:44And this is what he's experienced now through episode one, we don't realize everything he
00:18:49has done.
00:18:50This is where the shocker thing for me was like the things that he has actually done at this
00:18:58place.
00:18:58And it's, it's kind of like the sixth sense.
00:19:01You're like, Oh my God, it's all right there.
00:19:03And you don't even realize it.
00:19:05One thing I did like about all this is the cinematography.
00:19:08I love the, the wide angle shots that the drone shots, you see the beautiful landscape.
00:19:14Gabe, very Taylor Sheridan, that this is what he, that and the orchestral soundtrack, you
00:19:18know, that's where he contributes, of course, with the writing and all that, but it's just
00:19:22these long drawn out, thrown out scenes of them fishing and just living it.
00:19:27It could be on the travel channel, this show.
00:19:29And they do a really good job of when they all get there, other than Stacy, who understands
00:19:34like I'm going there to identify bodies and pick up my, you know, my husband and his
00:19:40brother and bury them.
00:19:41Um, they don't want to be there.
00:19:43They're already complaining.
00:19:45Russell is probably the one that complains the least.
00:19:48He's more or less just long for the ride.
00:19:50Now, if you don't know who Russell is, it's Patrick J Adams.
00:19:53He played in suits.
00:19:54Now, if you ever watched suits, it's an amazing show.
00:19:57I'm going to tell you.
00:19:58I got mixed up with a Zach from saved by the bell.
00:20:01Remember?
00:20:01I was like, Oh, this is it.
00:20:02You're like, no, that was Franklin and bash.
00:20:04There you go.
00:20:05Franklin and bash.
00:20:06But he, he plays, he almost plays the exact same character.
00:20:12If you take away the photo, photographic memory, like just the way he acts that, you
00:20:16know, he's, you know, he's, he's skittish.
00:20:19Like he's really playing that, that, that Mike character from suits, which I don't mind
00:20:24because it fits into what they could have said, Hey, this is Mike.
00:20:27Like, and just changed a few things and you would have been like, yep, this fits.
00:20:32Uh, but they go and identify the bodies.
00:20:38And at this point, I'm still like, no way they killed off Kurt Russell's character, Preston.
00:20:44There's no way.
00:20:45And she asked about the bodies and says, which one's which he said, he said, we don't know.
00:20:51And they uncover it.
00:20:53And it is Paul.
00:20:56And then when she asked the other one, he, he uncovers it and this is where she loses
00:21:03it.
00:21:03Right.
00:21:04Yeah.
00:21:04And she's like something like, you know, fingerprints wouldn't work.
00:21:07And she storms out.
00:21:09Now at this point, I was like, it's not him.
00:21:13Cause why would you say fingerprint?
00:21:14Cause that would have eliminated them having to call her and say, what about a wallet?
00:21:19They must've had their wallet with identification, a driver's license.
00:21:23No, that's what they did.
00:21:24But, but, but somebody has to identify the body.
00:21:27Well, that's what they, yeah.
00:21:29She was arguing with him because of that.
00:21:30She was like, I had some fond memories and now you're ruining it.
00:21:33Cause now I got to see him in this situation.
00:21:34I just, you know, I just work here.
00:21:37This is the law.
00:21:39And then the daughter asked to see, show me the last thing you showed.
00:21:42And we don't see it.
00:21:43But then we find out like, okay, she had just lost it.
00:21:45So he really is dead.
00:21:47Cause I was thinking like, it was somebody else that died that they found up there and
00:21:52that he was still alive.
00:21:53Well, and that would turn into a whole different type of show.
00:21:55Cause then we would probably see him trying to wake, make his way back home.
00:22:00And that could have been, could have been.
00:22:02At this point, you're just like, all right, they, they've killed off the main character.
00:22:06They brought in, you know, Matthew Fox, say what you want.
00:22:10He was one of the main people in lost.
00:22:13He was the oldest brother in party of five and he's done numerous other things.
00:22:17He's not a bit character.
00:22:19You don't think like you bring in a big name to kill him off in the first 20 minutes.
00:22:23Now we know Kurt Russell is going to be on it the whole time.
00:22:26You're like, how are you going to do this?
00:22:27And they explain it pretty quickly.
00:22:30So throughout the first step, I'm like, you see her getting more upset because he's realizing
00:22:38how this family is.
00:22:40Right.
00:22:40It's a mess.
00:22:41They're, they're, they're spoiled.
00:22:43All of them.
00:22:43And they are spoiled beyond.
00:22:48And they live the sheltered life.
00:22:50And that's the other issue that I had with all of this is that they, when, even in that
00:22:54episode, the first episode, when Stacy was talking with a friend and they were talking
00:22:58about life and, and friends that moved away, they go to Miami and I was like, yeah, but
00:23:03you know, this is it.
00:23:04This is where we're from.
00:23:05This is New York and the whole thing.
00:23:06I was like, okay, you know, fine.
00:23:08But then, then you're not really living the New York experience.
00:23:12Cause if you're got to go drive everywhere and you don't go to certain areas cause you
00:23:15don't want to walk, then what is this?
00:23:18Have you ever been on the Brooklyn bridge?
00:23:20Did you ever walk that?
00:23:21Did you ever go to sexual liberty?
00:23:22One thing we find out is Preston is the one.
00:23:24He's like, he can't leave his daughters.
00:23:27Yeah.
00:23:28But now what we do see is that there's clearly a divide between Abigail and page.
00:23:35Right.
00:23:35So we see this divide between Abigail and page.
00:23:38Now, Abigail, you think like she's the one that has her life more together.
00:23:45Um, Russell, when they were, you know, at, when they were at dinner before everything,
00:23:49he's, you know, she asked, Hey, what did you do after your wife got mugged?
00:23:54Oh, well, we had this going.
00:23:55So you did nothing.
00:23:56You have nothing.
00:23:56Like she's aggravated.
00:23:58She's aggravated that they're, that they're on their phones, that they're not experiencing
00:24:03each other.
00:24:04And let's be honest.
00:24:05We all do it.
00:24:06Right.
00:24:07We all sit there on our phones.
00:24:08All right.
00:24:08I mean, we, we all went to dinner and we all went to lunch, you know, when I was at
00:24:12a
00:24:12someone required, especially your kids, they sit on their phone.
00:24:16Um, but Preston, I think he also doesn't like Russell because I could have swore there
00:24:21was, it wasn't, he wasn't just talking about Dallas cause they were already divorced, but
00:24:24he was saying something about, Oh no, no, forget it.
00:24:26It was Dallas because he said, I remember when they were talking on the phone and she said,
00:24:32uh, I can't wait till this is all over.
00:24:35And he's like, Oh, she's gone from the life.
00:24:36He's like, well, he'll never be gone because they have two kids together.
00:24:39So he'll always still be relevant.
00:24:41There's also another, there's also another flashback where they're talking, where he
00:24:46has a completely different opinion about Dallas.
00:24:52So as we move on, uh, Abigail, she's the only one that's kind of reaching out to her mom.
00:25:02Right.
00:25:03She said, I'm going to go for a walk.
00:25:05Hey, do you want some company?
00:25:07That would be great.
00:25:08Whatever.
00:25:08Whatever.
00:25:09So she's the only one, but there is a huge thing at odds when it comes to them.
00:25:16And a lot of issues there.
00:25:18A lot of issues.
00:25:20So, but no, go on.
00:25:22You're about to say something.
00:25:23Yeah, no, no, no.
00:25:24I was like, all right.
00:25:24So, I mean, that was pretty much how the first episode ended.
00:25:28Cause then she would say, Hey, I got the book.
00:25:30We're going to go to all these locations that your father loved.
00:25:34This is why he always came out here.
00:25:36It was our fault.
00:25:37We failed him.
00:25:38We never came out here.
00:25:39All the times he offered man, 40 years of marriage.
00:25:41And you never take, even when they were little that I just, and that's one of those things
00:25:47where I have to say, like, as the father, you should have been like, listen, we're going
00:25:53there.
00:25:54Exactly.
00:25:54He was too passive.
00:25:56You don't have to go every single time.
00:25:58Once a year, you're coming here and you can, you can hack it for, you know, a week.
00:26:04Now the place does have power.
00:26:06Why it doesn't have running water or a toilet.
00:26:08I don't understand.
00:26:10They said something about why they can put a septic system.
00:26:12I don't buy that because you have running water.
00:26:15Yeah.
00:26:15They do have a shower.
00:26:16And, uh, the, the other cowboy friend that shows up in episode two, the next door neighbor.
00:26:21Now he, now he lives further down.
00:26:23So how he has it.
00:26:25Cause he was like, yeah, I have it.
00:26:26But when she's talking about the book and what they're going to be doing, how we're going
00:26:29to do all of this stuff, we haven't figured out exactly what was going on with the, with
00:26:33the journal.
00:26:34Like we find out in episode two and three, exactly what this journal is and why he was
00:26:42writing the stuff in that journal because he was talking to her about the stuff and
00:26:46then he was writing it, but he doesn't say that he's just writing about the journal.
00:26:50That was kind of crazy too.
00:26:52Yeah.
00:26:53Because some of it, it's like, he's talking to her, but was he ever going to give her
00:26:56this journal?
00:26:57No, he didn't.
00:26:59This is.
00:27:00Thoughts down.
00:27:00Who does that?
00:27:01Who does he Mormon?
00:27:03Uh, what's going on here?
00:27:05It's, it's just, it is a little weird.
00:27:08You know what I mean?
00:27:08It's, it's not something people do.
00:27:10Nope.
00:27:11In episode one, there is the foreshadowing.
00:27:14He's a writer and he owns a publishing company and then, then that makes sense because then
00:27:20he could say, this is my memoirs, you know, and I'm releasing it.
00:27:24Yeah.
00:27:25Now, now in the first episode, um, Russell does say, why would you name someone Russell
00:27:32when the main actor is Kurt Russell?
00:27:34That's why.
00:27:35Just to give a call.
00:27:36I saw that too.
00:27:37I saw that, I was like, oh, he didn't even dawn on me to just now.
00:27:40He just did it to like, oh, you know what?
00:27:42I like that name.
00:27:43All right.
00:27:43I'm going to name him.
00:27:44Uh, he says, um, going to the bathroom is pretty difficult with the hornet's nest.
00:27:51No, they don't really say how big the hornet's nest is.
00:27:54And I was kind of like, why, you know, why would that would be one thing you would take care
00:27:58of?
00:27:58Exactly.
00:27:59You don't just leave it and be like, oh, well, they're going to go away.
00:28:02No, they're not.
00:28:02They're hornets.
00:28:03They're not going away.
00:28:04Um, they leave it.
00:28:05And so we go into episode two or around, we're going to be bouncing around, but this is what
00:28:13we have here is Abigail says, do you want some, you know, do you want some company?
00:28:18I'm going to go to these places.
00:28:20And she talks, he wrote in the journal and he also told, he told her about it.
00:28:26Cause I think when he went up to, what did he call it?
00:28:30Stacey's.
00:28:31It was something with the blonde hair, right?
00:28:33Cause the way it was called Stacey's metal.
00:28:36And he said that for some odd reason, none of the elk graves there and the grass is yellow.
00:28:44It reminds him of her hair.
00:28:46But I also think he went up there because that's where he could get reception.
00:28:52Cause if you know that he had to, yeah.
00:28:54Was that in two or three where he was talking to her and it was cutting out or the daughter
00:28:58he was talking to.
00:28:59I actually think that was an, I actually think that was an episode three, but that's kind
00:29:02of what we see.
00:29:03He found that I think while he was trying to, trying to get reception.
00:29:07Now, remember, um, Paul, the brother, they do have wifi and she's because, you know, she
00:29:14makes a comment about not having power.
00:29:16And he said, I didn't say we don't have power.
00:29:18I said, there's no outlets.
00:29:19Now I don't think you truly meant there were no outlets.
00:29:22There's just very few outlets because you have, you know, you have, you have to have
00:29:26your cable modem plugged in for the wifi to work.
00:29:29Oh, there's gotta be food in the refrigerators.
00:29:32They have lights and everything.
00:29:35So there is stuff.
00:29:36There is power.
00:29:37It just sounds like there's not a lot of outlets.
00:29:39Um, and plus the girls obviously are charging their phones somewhere.
00:29:42Um, so I'm assuming that he was just out hiking, received the call.
00:29:47And then he was like, I gotta get the high ground because this signal is horrible.
00:29:51Yeah.
00:29:51You know, and that was one of the places that he would go to, um, to talk to her.
00:29:57And obviously reminded of, you know, reminded him of reminded him of her.
00:30:03They would talk.
00:30:04Um, and it's, it's very interesting because I have a feeling everything in this journal that
00:30:11they go to, this is where you're going to see new things come to light, but she decides
00:30:16this is where, this is where he's going to be laid to rest.
00:30:20Him and his brother are going to be laid to rest here.
00:30:23Yeah.
00:30:24And that's what I was thinking too, that they were going to go through every part.
00:30:27And once they get there, it would be like a choose your own adventure.
00:30:30Oh, we go over here.
00:30:31Now let me read this part.
00:30:32Oh, wow.
00:30:33In this area here, this is where something happened in his life.
00:30:38Or he called us during a special event or birthday or something.
00:30:42And, uh, and that's what I just assumed because we got that in that episode, right?
00:30:47We see.
00:30:47And then she's laying down, Stacy lays down and she was like, Oh, I see it.
00:30:51And we get that beautiful shot.
00:30:52A lot of beautiful shots here.
00:30:54Oh yeah.
00:30:54You know, of the land.
00:30:55I mean, I, like I said, this should be on the travel channel.
00:30:58Also, if you want to entice people to go to Montana, we get them talk about the bears and
00:31:03says, I thought, I thought there were any bears.
00:31:06And he said, and she says like, well, they didn't say that there weren't that they just
00:31:10don't see bears, something like that.
00:31:13Um, but we get page who has to go to the bathroom and she's very scared.
00:31:22I would be scared too.
00:31:23I'll just say that.
00:31:25Now she doesn't remember your boys go.
00:31:27Did you do boy Scouts?
00:31:29I made it up to Weeblo.
00:31:31Oh, Weeblo.
00:31:31I did Cub Scout, Weeblo.
00:31:33And then I'm like, where's my skateboard?
00:31:35I see.
00:31:36I was a boy Scout.
00:31:38I also went camping for the summer up in Bear Mountain.
00:31:41So we learned everything about leaning against a tree, build a ditch, you know, start a fire,
00:31:46all this stuff.
00:31:47And using an outhouse, you had to worry about snakes that would come up and other things
00:31:52that may come out of the.
00:31:53We do find some stuff not about snakes, right?
00:31:55We do find out some stuff about snakes.
00:31:58Yeah.
00:31:58Um, but so she goes there, she's sitting and then she sees a rat and she freaks out.
00:32:05Now, as soon as that happens, I'm like, was it a rat or just a field mouse?
00:32:10It was rat, a field mouse, whatever it was.
00:32:12Either way, it freaked her out because no, you're from New York.
00:32:16And you've told me before that the rats there are the sizes of cats.
00:32:20They're big.
00:32:21And especially mainly the tail.
00:32:22They have these really long tails.
00:32:25So maybe that wouldn't have freaked you out as much.
00:32:27Although she, I didn't understand why anyone's going out barefoot.
00:32:29I'll tell you that much right now.
00:32:31Why anyone's going out barefoot.
00:32:31It's the country.
00:32:32It's the country.
00:32:33What's the point?
00:32:34I mean, that comes up, I think, in episode three.
00:32:36I hate being barefoot to begin with.
00:32:39So I, that's a whole nother story, right?
00:32:41You got to get the whole bottom callous, nice and hard.
00:32:43So you don't feel anything.
00:32:44And just, yeah, no, I wear shoes throughout my house.
00:32:46I wear shoes.
00:32:47I remember walking the streets in New York and seeing people walk barefoot.
00:32:50How do you do that?
00:32:52That's the worst.
00:32:53I mean, you're stepping on gook, cigarette butts, spit, glass, junk.
00:32:57I mean, I've seen, and these are people with shorts and stuff talking on your cell phone.
00:33:01It's not illegal to walk.
00:33:03It's not illegal.
00:33:03So I have new shoes that I keep in my house that I walk around in and break them in.
00:33:08And then when it's time to wear them out, I ordered another pair of shoes.
00:33:11And I usually have a few pairs of shoes that I walked in my house.
00:33:13Oh, look at that.
00:33:14I don't like the way it feels on my feet.
00:33:17Nice.
00:33:18Whole side thing.
00:33:19Anyway, so anyway, these hornets go nuts.
00:33:22And they start stinging her.
00:33:25And she comes running in.
00:33:27Where's the shower?
00:33:29Abigail's laughing at it.
00:33:32And then we have.
00:33:36Well, we got Stacy.
00:33:37Stacy, she was like, all right, she goes in and says, where is it?
00:33:39She shows her, it's in her bum.
00:33:40And then she starts laughing.
00:33:42Starts laughing.
00:33:43She was like, all right, well, we're going to get Benadryl and all that stuff.
00:33:46You're assuming this man has all these things in the medicine cabinet.
00:33:49I don't.
00:33:51Okay, but I'm under the assumption that Preston has probably said, hey, he has everything.
00:33:57Because you have to be prepared.
00:34:00It's not like she's never met Paul.
00:34:02She knows he's got to be a survivalist.
00:34:04He has to have this stuff.
00:34:05At least then, if anything, I have a med kit.
00:34:08I have a med kit already.
00:34:09Because he did have the bear spray.
00:34:10Remember, that was a thing.
00:34:11He may not need a med kit because it's just him.
00:34:13So, hey, I know where everything's at.
00:34:16I don't need a med kit.
00:34:17But you are correct.
00:34:19Now, at this point, I think we skipped over where Abigail and Paige went yelling and screaming at each other.
00:34:33Talking about, yelling and screaming about how, like, you know, because she just wants to leave.
00:34:39Now, Abigail is the only one that's like, hey, you know what?
00:34:41She needs to grieve.
00:34:43We lost a father.
00:34:45And basically, we lost an ATM.
00:34:47She lost her best friend.
00:34:49And she comes in and she...
00:34:50Yeah, there was a whole argument about that.
00:34:52She couldn't believe that that's all the kids saw him as.
00:34:55They didn't really see him as a father.
00:34:58But whose fault is that?
00:34:59Okay, first, I didn't take that as Abigail saying, like, he was just an ATM to us.
00:35:09But she was basically saying, like, yes, he was our father, but he was this person that gave us the
00:35:14money.
00:35:15This was her best friend.
00:35:16This was the person she spent every day with.
00:35:19Yes, we're grieving, but her grief is so much worse than ours.
00:35:22And she's absolutely correct.
00:35:24I think something's up with this character of Preston that we're not seeing.
00:35:30It's just, first, he's too passive, right?
00:35:32We didn't get that already because he never dragged them out there in 40 years.
00:35:36And later on in the episode, he had talked about, oh, I do everything for my kids, right?
00:35:40Especially the whole Abigail and one of you, Ceci wants to give tough love.
00:35:44Cut her off.
00:35:44No, no, I can't.
00:35:45She falls down.
00:35:46I pick her up.
00:35:47She's my kid.
00:35:48But in the same respect, it makes it seem like he was never really there.
00:35:52Maybe he's always working because they don't seem like they're particularly close with him.
00:35:56Well, when they found out he died, where's all the tears and stuff?
00:35:59Like, oh, father.
00:36:01None of that.
00:36:02Well, no, they didn't show when they found out.
00:36:04They only showed when Stacy found out.
00:36:05That's what I'm saying.
00:36:06But then you can see how they're acting here.
00:36:08And it doesn't seem like they're really remorseful about the whole thing.
00:36:13It's like, oh, I can't believe we lost that.
00:36:14Instead, and then that's why the mom comes in.
00:36:16I'm like, if you think he's only here to just do all this stuff, you didn't really know him.
00:36:20You didn't give a shit, blah, blah, blah.
00:36:22Well, no.
00:36:22But again, they're also dealing with the grief in their own way.
00:36:25And again, you don't know how long.
00:36:27Again, they've got to get out of place.
00:36:28They've got to get out there.
00:36:29You have time to cry stuff out.
00:36:31It doesn't mean you're going to cry because they haven't seen it.
00:36:34Now, Abigail is already dealing with the fact that she says, hey, the last thing that I said to him
00:36:39was, I'll pay you back when I can.
00:36:44And Stacey says, what did he say to you?
00:36:47I wouldn't accept it even if you did.
00:36:51Because she thinks, you know, like, I was his biggest disappointment.
00:36:58Let's be honest.
00:36:58Paige is a much bigger disappointment.
00:37:01Yeah.
00:37:01Yeah.
00:37:02There's a lot.
00:37:02There's a lot.
00:37:03This whole family.
00:37:04This whole family.
00:37:05Like, that's the other shit.
00:37:06I don't really feel a connection to any of these characters.
00:37:09Like, I don't feel like, oh, well, I want to see a turnaround in Abigail.
00:37:13Or, I hope things work out with Stacey.
00:37:15Oh, yeah.
00:37:16I see it.
00:37:16I don't.
00:37:17I don't.
00:37:18So, as she's reading the journal, she's starting to see stuff.
00:37:24Now, she goes in to find out about the – well, first off, the neighbor comes over, right?
00:37:31First off, the neighbor is just talking to the kids.
00:37:34Now, again, you're from New York.
00:37:37I'm from the Detroit area.
00:37:39Don't talk to my kids, right?
00:37:42And the kids should know not to talk to strangers.
00:37:45You know, once they start talking, they just walk away.
00:37:47Like, nah, that's all right.
00:37:48But there's nowhere for them to go, and they were very – they were shocked.
00:37:52Yeah.
00:37:53But here we're out in the country, and they find a horseshoe and just says, hey, that's good luck.
00:37:59You're hanging over, right?
00:38:01Again, probably not how, if you're in Michigan or especially the Detroit area, not how you approach a kid, all
00:38:08right?
00:38:09Well, he did ask for their folks.
00:38:10He did say, where's your family?
00:38:12Where's your parents?
00:38:13I mean, he – it's not like, hey, you want to hang out?
00:38:15No, but I'm saying, like, he approaches – and again, you're also out in the country.
00:38:20And I'm assuming that's probably the only place he's ever lived, right?
00:38:25Now, he brings them food, and he explains who he is.
00:38:29Now, everyone else is very apprehensive except for Stacey, who's kind of like, well, she probably knew he had neighbors.
00:38:35Now, they're probably a mile or so away, but he's not as secluded as at first it made it seem
00:38:41to be.
00:38:41He mentioned Preston by name also.
00:38:44So it wasn't like, oh, Paul, yeah, yeah.
00:38:46Okay, yeah, you could overhear the guy.
00:38:48But then, oh, Preston, oh, the brother.
00:38:50Yeah, I know.
00:38:50And we heard what happened.
00:38:53And, I mean, he had a tub of food.
00:38:55Who carries all this?
00:38:56You know what I mean?
00:38:57So –
00:38:57It wasn't just made by his wife.
00:38:59It was made by people in the time.
00:39:01Yeah, and others in the community in that area, and that was really nice.
00:39:05And so this is where they're getting – again, whoever wrote this is into, like, you can tell they hate
00:39:11political correctness because he calls it the Indian pie, right?
00:39:17No, Indian taco.
00:39:20Indian – okay.
00:39:22Yep, man.
00:39:22Which I'm sorry.
00:39:22I went –
00:39:24But they call it that.
00:39:26First off, I wasn't talking about the Indian.
00:39:28I was like, the Indian taco.
00:39:30Sorry.
00:39:31I've been single way too long, and I get different thoughts in my mind.
00:39:35Oh, whoa.
00:39:38And then when the youngest granddaughter, she says, you can't say that.
00:39:45And he says, well, that's what the Indians call it.
00:39:47Yeah.
00:39:48And then we find out later on because when Stacey sees her, she's like, wait till they meet his wife.
00:39:56Yeah.
00:39:57Yeah.
00:39:57That was a whole other thing.
00:39:58Because clearly she's Native American is what – I mean, is what we're meant to believe, whether she's not in
00:40:04real life or not.
00:40:07But I didn't seem – for me, it didn't seem like he got offended.
00:40:11But Stacey went over and said, hey –
00:40:13Yeah, she definitely took it further.
00:40:14I didn't get that vibe either.
00:40:16I didn't either.
00:40:17Because it didn't linger on.
00:40:18And she says, well, when you have an 11-year-old, they'll say – and he goes, I do.
00:40:21And that's when I kind of got like – did he walk away mad?
00:40:25Because I didn't get the feeling that he walked away.
00:40:28No, no.
00:40:28Because it didn't happen right after that.
00:40:30They kept talking about the other foods and other things.
00:40:33It was like, hey, if you ever need anything, let me know the whole thing.
00:40:36I mean, he went on about it.
00:40:37It wasn't like, what?
00:40:39All right.
00:40:39I got to go.
00:40:40You're right.
00:40:41The kids are in this real posh.
00:40:42You know, like, what is this?
00:40:44What is that?
00:40:45Is that gluten-free?
00:40:47It's like, this was made from, you know, from the soil.
00:40:51Like, this is stuff – she's absolutely right when she says, you know, people have been eating breads forever.
00:40:58It's the preservatives we put in it that make it bad.
00:41:01Yeah.
00:41:02Right?
00:41:02That was during another conversation during, I think, breakfast or something like that when they were talking about all the
00:41:07foods.
00:41:07Well, that's what you – if you remember –
00:41:08Abigail.
00:41:09Abigail spitting the wisdom.
00:41:10Well, Russell makes the meat, and he's like, I don't think it's meat.
00:41:16And she's like, no, it's elk.
00:41:19And she's like, don't say –
00:41:22But it tastes like venison.
00:41:24It has gamey.
00:41:25It tastes gamey.
00:41:26I've had deer.
00:41:28Why is that a big deal?
00:41:29It's not a big deal.
00:41:30It's not like when – listen, it was human ass.
00:41:34Exactly.
00:41:35It's not like it's human.
00:41:36It's cannibals.
00:41:37This isn't a lie.
00:41:39Oh, man.
00:41:40But she loses it.
00:41:43Paige loses it.
00:41:44And Abigail, she's there for the ride.
00:41:46She's enjoying it.
00:41:47But the one thing that – okay, so after she gets her ass stung, right, and Russell says, I said
00:41:55there was a hornet's nest.
00:41:56You guys all heard it, right?
00:41:58And Stacey – I think it was Stacey or Abigail that said, yeah, I don't think that's going to cut
00:42:02it.
00:42:03No.
00:42:04Yeah, they were upset.
00:42:05She was upset at him, blamed him for everything.
00:42:07He eventually went out there.
00:42:08He got stung in the eye.
00:42:10Okay, so I thought that was kind of ridiculous because – I guess if you've never had taken care of
00:42:17a bee's nest, that maybe you'd do that.
00:42:20But first off, why would you go out where the bees are flying?
00:42:23You wait for them to calm down.
00:42:25Either that or cover yourself up.
00:42:27You know where you're going.
00:42:28You know where you're getting involved.
00:42:30You went out without shoes.
00:42:31Well, still, over your face.
00:42:33Cover something.
00:42:34Wrap a shirt around.
00:42:35He's going without shoes again.
00:42:38And, again, he ends up getting stung.
00:42:41But he's so proud because he actually feels like he took care of it.
00:42:46Although we see Stacey go out there and make sure afterwards.
00:42:49I don't know.
00:42:49I don't know.
00:42:51But this is where, like, you know, Paige is, like, saying, hey, you know what?
00:42:56You're never going to see this again.
00:42:58And, you know, she has to get up into the loft.
00:43:02So – and she's like, hey, it's either you do it down here or in the loft.
00:43:05Fine, I'll go upstairs.
00:43:09And then the neighbor is the one that says, hey, put – mix this, put it on.
00:43:15Yeah, baking powder with water.
00:43:17And even if they go to a medical facility, it's going to say –
00:43:20They're going to say the same thing.
00:43:21Same thing.
00:43:22You're like, how far is it?
00:43:24But we also find out that Paige got stung in other spots.
00:43:28Yeah.
00:43:28Which I can kind of understand why she'd be extremely mad at that.
00:43:31Oh, yeah, no, no, no, no.
00:43:33What if she had – this is probably the first time she's ever been stung by a hornet.
00:43:37What if she gets an allergic reaction?
00:43:39There's all kinds of things that could happen.
00:43:41Oh, yeah.
00:43:42If you don't know – and these things are one of those things you don't know
00:43:46if you're allergic to these things until you get stung.
00:43:48Mm-hmm.
00:43:49One of the other things we find out, Stacy, that's the cowboy friend for a funeral home.
00:43:55She needs some information because she's got to bury them.
00:43:58And it sounds like she's going to do that there on the property.
00:44:02That's where they want to stay or they want to live in an afterlife, then so be it.
00:44:09You're going to do everything there.
00:44:11Now, remember, Abigail is the one that is very supportive of everything that she's doing to a point.
00:44:19But she also talks about where she wants to bury them.
00:44:21And they say, you know, you have to reach out.
00:44:25You have to talk to somebody about doing it.
00:44:28But I understand that if you ever sell that land, they can do whatever they want.
00:44:33They will exhume the bodies and probably just cremate them.
00:44:36I would think she knows this because she was like, oh, yeah, I should get a lawyer to figure all
00:44:41this up.
00:44:41But I mean –
00:44:42No, no, no, no, no.
00:44:43No.
00:44:43He said you don't need a lawyer.
00:44:44But – and then when he starts saying that, she goes, a lawyer.
00:44:48He gives her a card.
00:44:49I thought this was where Beth was going to come in.
00:44:53Oh, I don't – she's above this.
00:44:55Unless this is her new job.
00:44:57It's possible.
00:44:57Well, no, but I'm saying, like, these are rich people.
00:45:01And I thought maybe this way – hey, if you have an issue, maybe this is – but they never
00:45:06say who it is.
00:45:07But I don't think it has.
00:45:08We don't even see – no, we don't see the card.
00:45:10Yeah, they don't touch anything on anyone from Yellowstone, which I'm perfectly fine with.
00:45:14What is it?
00:45:14They called the stream Yellowstone Trout?
00:45:18Yeah.
00:45:19Yeah, that's what they call it.
00:45:20Yeah, that's the only reference to Yellowstone that we get, other than it's in Montana.
00:45:25Mm-hmm.
00:45:25That was it.
00:45:26But, yeah, that was over at the funeral home, right?
00:45:29So this is the point.
00:45:31And I think we all know this.
00:45:32It's like, yeah, if you sell the land and they find out that there's a cemetery there, they don't have
00:45:36to respect that.
00:45:37They can just dig it up.
00:45:38I'm like, no, we don't want a cemetery of dead people we don't know.
00:45:41But as she's reading this journal, this is where she's coming to the conclusion of what she wants to do.
00:45:46Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
00:45:48Now, it seems like a pretty quick conclusion because they're not there very long.
00:45:53No.
00:45:53Right?
00:45:55But – and this is when she borrowed the – remember, she borrowed the truck.
00:46:03Or she took the rental.
00:46:04So they come back, basically, they're going to fight about it because she took it.
00:46:10And she's like, hey, well, I'm paying for everything.
00:46:11Mm-hmm.
00:46:12And then the next day was when she calls the neighbor who is Cade.
00:46:18Yeah, Cade.
00:46:19And they're like, can you take me to pick up the truck?
00:46:23Pick up Paul's truck.
00:46:25Because it's all hers now, right?
00:46:27Yeah, it's all hers.
00:46:28She just has to bring – and I guess that also helped out going to the funeral home because she
00:46:33obtained the death certificate.
00:46:36Yes.
00:46:36For Paul, so that now we should bring him.
00:46:38And it seems like they're like, yeah, we need the death certificate.
00:46:41Like, what a horrible thing.
00:46:42Like, once again, you have to pull the stuff out.
00:46:46And then, you know –
00:46:47And she had both of them.
00:46:48She also had her husband.
00:46:49She handed the wrong one.
00:46:50I'm assuming that was Preston's that she handed.
00:46:53And then it's like, oh, wait, no, it's not that one.
00:46:55And she got to sell the one.
00:46:56And, you know, the lady was nice.
00:46:58And she's like, what was she saying?
00:46:59We're praying for you or something like that?
00:47:01Or –
00:47:01Yeah.
00:47:02She said something.
00:47:03Try to uplift her.
00:47:04She's like, it's not working.
00:47:05It's not happening.
00:47:06None of this is happening.
00:47:08But when she gets in the truck, there's like two coffee cups.
00:47:12And she gets really mad about the coffee cups.
00:47:15And I couldn't tell if that's because, like, she assumed that the cops, when they drove it there, maybe drank
00:47:24coffee in it.
00:47:25Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
00:47:26I think this is just another moment that it's triggering of memories of Paul and her husband.
00:47:33But they didn't show her anything.
00:47:34That's why I was a little confused on that.
00:47:36But anyway.
00:47:36A little flashback of all that, you know.
00:47:37And then she sees there's a gun in it.
00:47:41And, again, not really surprising.
00:47:43You live where there's bears and other animals.
00:47:46We've all seen Yellowstone.
00:47:47I mean, for somebody to have a gun like that, and it's a pistol, it's not a rifle, it makes
00:47:54sense.
00:47:57Before we even go further, there was one important scene that happened all year.
00:48:00Because then we do see the other officer, the sheriff or deputy or whatever, remember that came over to the
00:48:06cowboy guy on the side and said, hey.
00:48:08That's Van Davis.
00:48:09Yeah, and he said, I want to come by the house and see the horse and ride the horse.
00:48:13Yeah, you can come by and you can do this.
00:48:16And I was like, okay, that's what's going on there.
00:48:18But they introduced him because he plays a big part in episode three.
00:48:22I think he's going to play a big part in four.
00:48:23Or was that a loader in that episode?
00:48:27Yeah.
00:48:30They already set up a love intro.
00:48:32Again, you guys have all seen this or you're not.
00:48:35You're listening to us to kind of talk about it.
00:48:37But hopefully it gives you an idea to go, hey, you know what?
00:48:39I need to go watch this.
00:48:41Very the Brady Bunch vibes I got from when he hit story.
00:48:47Because isn't that the same age of her two kids?
00:48:5011 and 14?
00:48:51At least 11.
00:48:52Yeah, they're about to see.
00:48:53Definitely 11 for the youngest one, the smarty pants.
00:48:56Everyone had kids around that same time.
00:48:58You know, and the same situation.
00:49:01But yeah, so she gets in the.
00:49:03But Stacey does say something like, hey, you're stoned in for six months.
00:49:07What else to do?
00:49:07And he was like, exactly.
00:49:09Yeah.
00:49:09Yeah.
00:49:11Yeah.
00:49:11It's true.
00:49:12Because that was, you know, because the cowboy has it.
00:49:15And then also the deputy sheriff.
00:49:17I don't remember his title.
00:49:20Who?
00:49:20The cop.
00:49:22The one that Abigail starts hanging out with.
00:49:24He's a deputy.
00:49:25Deputy.
00:49:26Okay.
00:49:26Deputy.
00:49:27Okay.
00:49:27These are sheriffs.
00:49:28You're not going to have police force down there.
00:49:30You're going to have sheriffs.
00:49:31Yeah.
00:49:31Okay.
00:49:32So.
00:49:34Would you see a flashback?
00:49:37Because now we're focusing on Abigail.
00:49:39Like there's a lot of focus on Abigail.
00:49:41And we see.
00:49:44Preston and Stacey.
00:49:47In a bathtub.
00:49:48And they're talking.
00:49:49And he's.
00:49:51You know.
00:49:52They're talking about the divorce and everything.
00:49:55And this is where he says, you know, Dallas.
00:49:57Well, he, you know, he's always been good to the kids.
00:50:00He's a good guy.
00:50:01But he wants spousal support.
00:50:03And he wants.
00:50:04So.
00:50:04This is where we find out.
00:50:05Like.
00:50:07They're paying for everything.
00:50:09Yeah.
00:50:10Which.
00:50:11I'm sorry.
00:50:12Like.
00:50:12But he laughs.
00:50:13Because both of them don't work.
00:50:15Abigail does not work.
00:50:16So it's not like she.
00:50:17And it sounds like Dallas also didn't have a job.
00:50:20Yeah.
00:50:21He was a struggling actor.
00:50:23So.
00:50:24Really struggling.
00:50:25If you're acting in New York.
00:50:26You go to California for that.
00:50:28Come on now.
00:50:29Wrong place, buddy.
00:50:31But.
00:50:31But then he talks about how he feels about it.
00:50:34Clearly, like.
00:50:36I hate to say it.
00:50:37You can tell this is his baby.
00:50:38Even though.
00:50:39She's the oldest.
00:50:41And he says.
00:50:43You know.
00:50:43She has no drive.
00:50:45She can't do anything.
00:50:47We have to do this the rest of her life.
00:50:49Or else she's going to fail.
00:50:50Yeah.
00:50:51And there's nothing we can do.
00:50:52Like.
00:50:53No tough love.
00:50:54This is just who she is.
00:50:55Yes.
00:50:56And.
00:50:57Stacy's the one that wants it.
00:50:58But.
00:50:59Preston is the one who is pressing against it.
00:51:02And.
00:51:03That is one of the worst things that you can do.
00:51:05Because you're not.
00:51:05You're not allowing them.
00:51:07But.
00:51:08She's going to move back in with them.
00:51:10And.
00:51:11The reason why we're seeing this.
00:51:13Is because.
00:51:14At the end of.
00:51:15Episode three.
00:51:16Stacy tells them.
00:51:18This is what I'm doing.
00:51:21Whether you like it or not.
00:51:23And you guys are on your own.
00:51:24If you don't want to stay here with.
00:51:25No.
00:51:26That was.
00:51:26Episode two.
00:51:27Was that.
00:51:28Because.
00:51:28Yeah.
00:51:29Episode two.
00:51:29Because episode three.
00:51:30Is where we see.
00:51:32Abigail.
00:51:33Hanging out with.
00:51:35Deputy.
00:51:36And having a good old time.
00:51:38And things are getting different.
00:51:39We got to episode two.
00:51:40At the end.
00:51:41When.
00:51:41She was like.
00:51:42You know what.
00:51:42This is what's happening.
00:51:43Because she did the whole thing with the funeral home.
00:51:44I'm going to be buried here.
00:51:46I'm selling the townhouse.
00:51:47Right.
00:51:48We're going to set things into trust.
00:51:50Everything is staying here.
00:51:52No.
00:51:52No.
00:51:52No.
00:51:53No.
00:51:54No.
00:51:54Because remember.
00:51:55What set that into motion.
00:51:57This.
00:51:57This is what sold me on this whole.
00:52:00This is what sold me.
00:52:02So.
00:52:03She's reading the journal.
00:52:04Now.
00:52:04I hope you're staying this.
00:52:05This long.
00:52:06This was the whole purpose.
00:52:07I want to do this.
00:52:09She's reading the journal.
00:52:11And.
00:52:12He says.
00:52:12It.
00:52:13It snowed.
00:52:15And now.
00:52:16It's already gone.
00:52:17Now.
00:52:17I live in Michigan.
00:52:19That's how it feels like.
00:52:20It was in the 60s today.
00:52:22It's supposed to be in the 30s tomorrow.
00:52:23And I think.
00:52:24Get into the teens.
00:52:25And then.
00:52:26Whatever.
00:52:26This is Michigan.
00:52:28But he said.
00:52:28Hey.
00:52:29It snowed.
00:52:29What are you.
00:52:30What do two 40 year olds do when it snows?
00:52:32You go outside.
00:52:33And you make a.
00:52:35You make a snowman as big as a Tahoe.
00:52:37Now.
00:52:37There's not even.
00:52:38Not a sign of it.
00:52:40But he starts going on.
00:52:41They drink a lot.
00:52:42They drink like 24 beers.
00:52:44Because they did a 12 pack.
00:52:46And then later on.
00:52:46They watched it melt.
00:52:48And another one.
00:52:49And then.
00:52:49I called BS on this one.
00:52:50This one got me upset also.
00:52:52Because he was like.
00:52:52Oh.
00:52:53I never let my kids in.
00:52:54We didn't have a backyard.
00:52:55They never went and built a snowman.
00:52:56Or did anything.
00:52:57Like.
00:52:58It's a lot.
00:52:58You can go to Central Park.
00:52:59You can go to any park.
00:53:00But if you didn't take them there.
00:53:02If there wasn't a place for them to go out in the back and do it.
00:53:05If you didn't take them there.
00:53:08So then he wasn't a father to them.
00:53:10He can't complain about it if he wasn't there.
00:53:12If that's the case.
00:53:13He didn't say it that way.
00:53:14He's not saying.
00:53:14It seemed like the reason was.
00:53:16Because he didn't have a backyard to do it.
00:53:18Well.
00:53:19They could just go out and do it on their own.
00:53:22Right.
00:53:22That's mostly.
00:53:23Hey.
00:53:24Again.
00:53:24I didn't grow up in New York.
00:53:25For me.
00:53:26We went across the street.
00:53:28I lived in condos.
00:53:29We went across the street.
00:53:29In the backyard.
00:53:31And we made snowmen.
00:53:32Or on the side of the house.
00:53:34You can't do that in New York.
00:53:35If you're living directly in the city.
00:53:37Not like you said.
00:53:38Yeah.
00:53:38You can go somewhere.
00:53:39But.
00:53:40You know.
00:53:41You have to go there with your parents.
00:53:42And if your parents don't take you.
00:53:43For whatever reason.
00:53:45It's just that it's doable.
00:53:46It makes it seem like.
00:53:48It's doable.
00:53:48We just can't do it.
00:53:49Oh.
00:53:50Well.
00:53:50They never happened.
00:53:51Oh.
00:53:51I'm a bad dad.
00:53:52Then it's on you.
00:53:53You're a slacker dad.
00:53:55But during this whole thing.
00:53:57He's talking about what his dream is.
00:53:59And my dream is.
00:54:00Hey.
00:54:01You know what.
00:54:02They have their own little place.
00:54:04We have our own place.
00:54:06And this is where Stacy starts noticing things.
00:54:10Because she kept getting mad that like.
00:54:13Yeah.
00:54:14He couldn't do certain things around the house.
00:54:16Like change the curtains.
00:54:18But.
00:54:19You can go check on these cabins.
00:54:22Why are there three cabins there?
00:54:24Right.
00:54:25The brother.
00:54:25The brother didn't have people over.
00:54:28All right.
00:54:28So here.
00:54:29Answer this one then.
00:54:30Because one of the cabins had a bunch of toys.
00:54:32Right.
00:54:32Because wasn't that the thing.
00:54:33The girls are sleeping in the cabin.
00:54:35It's like.
00:54:35Oh yeah.
00:54:35What's in that cabin.
00:54:37Because she.
00:54:37Stacy didn't go in.
00:54:38She's like.
00:54:38Oh.
00:54:38It's a bunch of toy stuff.
00:54:39She goes running over there.
00:54:40And it's like.
00:54:41And Miguel comes over.
00:54:42Yeah.
00:54:42He built this for you guys.
00:54:44I call BS on that too.
00:54:45Really?
00:54:46No.
00:54:47No.
00:54:47He was.
00:54:47He was.
00:54:48When he went out there.
00:54:50Him and his brother were building.
00:54:52Were building.
00:54:54These cabins.
00:54:56For them to come and visit.
00:54:57They refused to ever come there.
00:54:59That's what I'm saying.
00:55:00His brother had.
00:55:02His brother had his own cabin.
00:55:04The other cabin.
00:55:06That Stacy was staying in.
00:55:07Because that was Preston's cabin.
00:55:09Was probably all set up.
00:55:11Perfect for everything Stacy wanted.
00:55:13He was buying toys.
00:55:15Buying games.
00:55:16Because that's where the kids would stay.
00:55:17So.
00:55:18His dream.
00:55:20Would be when they go and visit.
00:55:22The girls would have their own cabin.
00:55:24All right.
00:55:26Paul.
00:55:27He.
00:55:27Obviously it's his land.
00:55:29He has his own cabin.
00:55:30And then Stacy and Preston.
00:55:32Are going to have their own cabin.
00:55:33And that's what I'm saying.
00:55:34All these years.
00:55:35And you don't force them to come.
00:55:36And say.
00:55:37Listen.
00:55:37We built cabins.
00:55:38And he was sending pictures.
00:55:39Because remember.
00:55:40There was a few times.
00:55:41Where he was doing.
00:55:42The FaceTime.
00:55:43And he's showing pictures.
00:55:43Because there were cabins.
00:55:45She didn't know what the cabins were for.
00:55:47You know.
00:55:49She's assuming.
00:55:50That they're Paul's cabins.
00:55:52Paul needs help building this.
00:55:54Paul needs help with this.
00:55:56And she was like.
00:55:57Hey.
00:55:57If you just told me.
00:55:58You want to go drink with your brother.
00:56:00I'd be okay.
00:56:01But you use this whole fishing thing.
00:56:03Right.
00:56:04And he had a reason.
00:56:05But this is where she realizes.
00:56:07Oh my God.
00:56:08He has been building this for years.
00:56:10Because.
00:56:11The girls are no longer kids.
00:56:13But all those toys.
00:56:15They were all older board games.
00:56:17They were all older toys.
00:56:18Yeah.
00:56:18They weren't modern classified GI Joe stuff.
00:56:21It was all older stuff.
00:56:23I just can't believe that.
00:56:24To do all that.
00:56:26Think about it.
00:56:26If that was you.
00:56:27If you built all this.
00:56:28And they're like.
00:56:29I still don't want to know.
00:56:29But you are getting in the car.
00:56:31You're getting on the plane.
00:56:32We are going.
00:56:33And you're going to see what I did.
00:56:35But we haven't fully seen how his character is.
00:56:39He's a very passive guy.
00:56:40And I think we wanted them to say.
00:56:42You know what?
00:56:43Let's go see this.
00:56:44Rather than him force them.
00:56:46Because we already see how they would have acted.
00:56:50I mean.
00:56:51Just the fact that they even got to this point.
00:56:53It just shows too much.
00:56:55Yeah.
00:56:55I don't know.
00:56:55We need more on his story.
00:56:57And hopefully we'll get more of that later on.
00:56:59What he does for a living.
00:57:01How this all came about.
00:57:03I need more.
00:57:04She calls her friend to come out.
00:57:06So I'm assuming in episode four.
00:57:08We're going to see her friend showing up there.
00:57:10She said something very useful.
00:57:13That a lot of people would say.
00:57:14It's like.
00:57:14You're friends.
00:57:15Right?
00:57:15We're friends.
00:57:16You're a really good friend.
00:57:17Prove you're a good friend.
00:57:18All right.
00:57:18Come out here.
00:57:19That's how you know.
00:57:20If you're really.
00:57:21Because it's going to be serious.
00:57:22You're coming out to Montana.
00:57:24So there are a few issues here.
00:57:26All right.
00:57:27And.
00:57:28This is where she.
00:57:30Like.
00:57:30Again.
00:57:31Where.
00:57:31She says.
00:57:32We raised these little bitches.
00:57:34And Abigail.
00:57:35Storms after her.
00:57:37And says.
00:57:38Those are not your kids.
00:57:39And she's like.
00:57:39I wasn't talking about them.
00:57:41Although in a roundabout way.
00:57:42She was.
00:57:43But I understand.
00:57:44Where she was coming from.
00:57:46Right?
00:57:46She is coming.
00:57:47From a point of.
00:57:50Wow.
00:57:50We raised these bitches.
00:57:51And now they're raising.
00:57:52Other little bitches.
00:57:54Which is absolutely correct.
00:57:56Yeah.
00:57:58But.
00:57:59After that.
00:58:00After she sees.
00:58:01What these cabins were made.
00:58:02This is when.
00:58:03In my opinion.
00:58:04She made that decision.
00:58:05This is where I'm going to move.
00:58:07But my problem is.
00:58:08She's looking into.
00:58:09What the schooling is like.
00:58:12You can't just decide.
00:58:13That you're going to uproot those kids.
00:58:15And as somebody that.
00:58:16That's.
00:58:17Yeah.
00:58:18Now.
00:58:19She says.
00:58:20I'm selling the condo.
00:58:21It's being put in a trust.
00:58:23That this land will always stay in our family.
00:58:25Through this trust.
00:58:27You can never sell it.
00:58:28Dallas is on his own.
00:58:29I'm selling it.
00:58:30Like.
00:58:31Screw him.
00:58:31Now.
00:58:31First off.
00:58:32I would have said that a long time ago.
00:58:33Oh yeah.
00:58:33You know.
00:58:34I'm sorry.
00:58:35Like.
00:58:35You're not getting spousal support.
00:58:37Where.
00:58:38My daughter isn't even.
00:58:39The breadwinner.
00:58:41Yeah.
00:58:43We don't fully get.
00:58:44Because clearly.
00:58:45Russell is.
00:58:46He has his own.
00:58:48He's got some kind of business.
00:58:49It's something about shipping.
00:58:51Because remember.
00:58:51He had talked about buying.
00:58:52Some shipping container.
00:58:54That can.
00:58:55Goods.
00:58:55Was that money.
00:58:56Through them.
00:58:57Did they maybe finance that.
00:58:59Did they.
00:58:59You know.
00:59:00What if he works for the family business.
00:59:01You're right.
00:59:01We don't know.
00:59:02Maybe that is a family business.
00:59:04Shipping.
00:59:05So.
00:59:05We don't know.
00:59:06That never comes up.
00:59:07In fact.
00:59:08If.
00:59:08I wonder how big this company is.
00:59:10Because usually.
00:59:11And I've seen.
00:59:12We've seen other shows.
00:59:12When something like this happens.
00:59:14Even a succession.
00:59:15And stuff like that.
00:59:16The kids.
00:59:17They meet with the board.
00:59:18They start talking.
00:59:19Figuring out who's the next in command.
00:59:21Who's handling transactions.
00:59:22Stuff.
00:59:23That doesn't come up.
00:59:24This has all been about.
00:59:25And it might just be privately owned.
00:59:26It could be.
00:59:27But.
00:59:29When they go in.
00:59:30And they pick up the truck.
00:59:31They get in.
00:59:32You know.
00:59:32Abigail.
00:59:33And Stacy get in a huge fight.
00:59:35And she's like.
00:59:36You just let me out.
00:59:36Let me out right here.
00:59:38And Stacy does.
00:59:40Now.
00:59:41Now.
00:59:42Cade sees it.
00:59:43And that's when he calls for the sheriff.
00:59:45The sheriff.
00:59:46Yeah.
00:59:47I need.
00:59:47I need you to pick someone up.
00:59:48Because remember.
00:59:49He's.
00:59:51He's in front.
00:59:52So he just sees that she's stopped.
00:59:54Clearly.
00:59:55She's not getting back.
00:59:56Now.
00:59:57Why?
00:59:57Stacy starts asking later on.
00:59:59And where's your mom at?
01:00:00And she's like.
01:00:01I need to go find her.
01:00:02Like.
01:00:02Wait a minute.
01:00:03How long did you leave her out there for?
01:00:06It's at night.
01:00:07It was.
01:00:08It was.
01:00:08It wasn't at night.
01:00:09When he dropped.
01:00:10When she jumps him off though.
01:00:11No.
01:00:12But then she assumed it was going to take a while for her to walk back.
01:00:16Well.
01:00:17She didn't know how to get there.
01:00:18And the funny part is when she's on the phone and she's like.
01:00:22What if I rent two cars.
01:00:24And you have two people driving one out here.
01:00:27She couldn't get a rental.
01:00:29Yeah.
01:00:30Now.
01:00:30The other thing is.
01:00:32I mean.
01:00:32If she's modern in the whole thing in this area.
01:00:35I'm sure.
01:00:35They're probably an Uber system still.
01:00:37You know.
01:00:37It's present day.
01:00:38From what I understand.
01:00:39Right.
01:00:39This was.
01:00:40Yeah.
01:00:40How do you tell someone where you're at?
01:00:41You tell them on the highway.
01:00:43She's the only person walking.
01:00:44It was like.
01:00:45Yeah.
01:00:45You can easily say.
01:00:46Like my car broke down.
01:00:47I'm on.
01:00:48You know.
01:00:48This highway.
01:00:49Where are you?
01:00:49I'm the only person out here.
01:00:51And then when the deputy shows up.
01:00:52He even says it.
01:00:53He's like.
01:00:54This is illegal for you to be out here.
01:00:56Yeah.
01:00:57And.
01:00:58Even.
01:00:59Even.
01:01:00In.
01:01:00In.
01:01:01Montana.
01:01:03Where there's no one around.
01:01:04And there's a pretty girl walking down the street.
01:01:06They don't even want to pick up hitchhikers.
01:01:08Because they just.
01:01:08That deputy.
01:01:09Maybe it's me.
01:01:10He.
01:01:11It's not like he had a Canadian accent.
01:01:13He.
01:01:14He had some kind of Canadian accent.
01:01:16I was like.
01:01:16Oh.
01:01:16We got a Canuck over here.
01:01:18Something.
01:01:18Something about it.
01:01:19I don't know what it was.
01:01:20But I heard a little.
01:01:22Oh.
01:01:22There was something.
01:01:24There was definitely something.
01:01:25Let's see.
01:01:26If I can see where he's from.
01:01:29Because we already talked about the location.
01:01:31Montana.
01:01:31And all that.
01:01:32But.
01:01:33Yeah.
01:01:33He picks.
01:01:34He was born in New York.
01:01:36So.
01:01:37What?
01:01:38Shenanigans.
01:01:40Then he's putting on the accent.
01:01:42Then he's putting on this accent.
01:01:43And it's coming off.
01:01:45Canadian.
01:01:45Like whatever he's trying to put.
01:01:46I don't even know if people in Montana have an accent.
01:01:48I haven't heard it.
01:01:49So.
01:01:50So.
01:01:51You know.
01:01:51What we do is.
01:01:52He gets.
01:01:52He picks her up.
01:01:53He ends up going to.
01:01:56To Cades.
01:01:57To see the horse.
01:01:58We see the kids.
01:02:00And.
01:02:01They're.
01:02:01They're no different than every other kid.
01:02:03That has a big yard.
01:02:05Yeah.
01:02:05One's playing with a snake.
01:02:08Leave the snake alone.
01:02:09No one's riding a horse.
01:02:12And.
01:02:13And it's at night.
01:02:14Yeah.
01:02:14Well.
01:02:15And this is where Stacy finally goes and checks.
01:02:16And sees where Abigail is at.
01:02:19And we also find out.
01:02:22She's in trouble when they use.
01:02:23And were.
01:02:24When they use her full name.
01:02:26When they say Abby.
01:02:28She's fine.
01:02:29But.
01:02:29Then there's Abigail.
01:02:31That's when something bad has happened.
01:02:32That's usually how it is.
01:02:33When they use.
01:02:34My grandmother went to.
01:02:35They say the first and last name.
01:02:37And call you into.
01:02:38Oh.
01:02:38You were in trouble.
01:02:39And.
01:02:39But I feel like that was just kind of.
01:02:41Emphasized.
01:02:43So.
01:02:44She's just freaking out.
01:02:45And.
01:02:45The kids are like.
01:02:46No.
01:02:46No.
01:02:47No.
01:02:47She's at the neighbor's house.
01:02:48What?
01:02:48Oh yeah.
01:02:49She's been there for a couple hours.
01:02:50Whatever.
01:02:51So.
01:02:51She called.
01:02:52To let them know.
01:02:53Hey.
01:02:53I'm off.
01:02:54I'm okay.
01:02:55I was picked up by the sheriffs.
01:02:57You know.
01:02:58To drop us off.
01:03:00Grandma kicked me out of the car.
01:03:02And grandma says.
01:03:03No.
01:03:03She asked to get out of the car.
01:03:05Technically.
01:03:06Stacy is right.
01:03:07She did ask to get out of the car.
01:03:09But.
01:03:11What's Deputy's name?
01:03:12It's not like you had it up front.
01:03:14What's her character name?
01:03:16Van Davis.
01:03:17Van Davis.
01:03:17That's his character.
01:03:18All right.
01:03:18Because.
01:03:19His first name is Van.
01:03:20His last name is Davis.
01:03:22Van.
01:03:22All right.
01:03:23So his deputy van.
01:03:24All right.
01:03:24Because.
01:03:25That's why I brought the Brady Bunch.
01:03:27Because when they're sitting there.
01:03:28Just bonding and talking about their life.
01:03:30He mentions that he has two kids.
01:03:33Right.
01:03:33One's 11.
01:03:34The other one's 14.
01:03:35Two boys.
01:03:35She has two girls.
01:03:37Right.
01:03:37I'm.
01:03:37We know one's 11.
01:03:39Don't know what the other one.
01:03:39But.
01:03:40I'm sure.
01:03:41Roughly around that age.
01:03:42Roughly around that age.
01:03:43And says that his wife passed away.
01:03:46ATV accident.
01:03:47It tipped over.
01:03:48Fell on her.
01:03:49Right.
01:03:49So that.
01:03:50That's horrible there.
01:03:51And what about you?
01:03:52Oh.
01:03:52You know.
01:03:53Divorced.
01:03:54You know.
01:03:54And there goes that.
01:03:55So the Brady Bunch.
01:03:56It just seems like it's going to work.
01:03:58Like this is it.
01:03:58They're going to get together.
01:03:59And they're going to have their families.
01:04:01This is their first sign of showing that.
01:04:03Hey.
01:04:04There might be a reason for me to be here.
01:04:07No.
01:04:07This would be a culture shock.
01:04:08I couldn't move to Montana out of Detroit and be like, wow.
01:04:14I mean, you moved from New York to Des Moines.
01:04:18Yeah.
01:04:19It was a long process.
01:04:21Yeah.
01:04:22Des Moines is.
01:04:22It's a real city.
01:04:24But I was there.
01:04:25It's.
01:04:25It's not.
01:04:27It's not the size of even like one of the, you know, some of the bigger.
01:04:32Oh, no, no, no, no.
01:04:33It's always funny.
01:04:34I remember one time there was a guy in the train, subway train, and he saw me wearing an Iowa
01:04:38shirt.
01:04:38And I was with my wife and he came up.
01:04:40I was like, oh, man, what part?
01:04:42What part?
01:04:42And I was like, oh, this is Des Moines.
01:04:43He hit the big city.
01:04:46And then he got off.
01:04:47And I was like, what?
01:04:49Are you kidding me?
01:04:50We're currently in the big city.
01:04:52I don't consider Des Moines a big city.
01:04:54But the way he said it, I was like, are you city folk?
01:04:57I'm like, you're telling me this on the R train in Manhattan.
01:05:01What's wrong with you?
01:05:02But, yeah, it was funny.
01:05:04But, yeah, that was an interesting one thing we did go.
01:05:07We didn't get into, but it was also kind of funny.
01:05:10There was a fight that happened earlier that day.
01:05:13Remember?
01:05:13It was Abigail and Paige.
01:05:15And they really went at it.
01:05:16Like, they were fighting, fist fighting, throwing punches, breaking everything.
01:05:20Breaking glasses.
01:05:21Yeah, they made a mess.
01:05:23The mom came and cleaned all this up.
01:05:24So, there's already that picture.
01:05:25But that's what she tells them.
01:05:27You are going to clean this up, unlike my condo in New York.
01:05:30Exactly.
01:05:31Well, we have the help.
01:05:32Yeah, but that's clearly, like, this is what we didn't make you do when we should have.
01:05:37Yeah.
01:05:38We didn't make you do this stuff.
01:05:40They didn't have to do anything.
01:05:42I mean, this is the same situation we hear.
01:05:45And I don't like to bring it up because it's sad.
01:05:47But a lot of these celebrities and their kids, and then we hear tragic things happen when these kids grow
01:05:51up to be adults, fall apart.
01:05:53Why is that?
01:05:53Why can't they follow on their parents' footsteps?
01:05:56Because they didn't have to, you know, work for anything.
01:05:58They didn't have to hustle for it, whether it's sports or, you know, acting or business.
01:06:03Everything was handed there.
01:06:04And it's, what do you want to do?
01:06:06What do they always say?
01:06:06When you get to a certain point, you want to do everything you can for your kids.
01:06:11That's what we're told to do, right?
01:06:13You want to give what you can, what you didn't have.
01:06:15That's the problem.
01:06:16Where is that point?
01:06:17Some people don't know that point, and then just leave the checkbook open and go live, go have fun.
01:06:23Then the kid's like, then why do I have to work?
01:06:25Why do I have to go to school?
01:06:26I'm rich.
01:06:27We're wealthy.
01:06:28Yeah, exactly.
01:06:29It's like, I can do whatever.
01:06:30I'm going to do this line of blow now.
01:06:32Thanks, Dad.
01:06:33You know, it's like, what?
01:06:35And it falls apart.
01:06:36And that's why.
01:06:37There was no point.
01:06:38There was no, listen, you need to earn for yourself.
01:06:41This builds character.
01:06:42This turns you into an individual.
01:06:44And we're not seeing that because that was the thing that person said about Abigail.
01:06:48She can't do anything for herself.
01:06:50And that's on them.
01:06:51He said, that's on them.
01:06:52We never had her do anything for herself.
01:06:56So we can't just like, that was when they were doing the tub scene.
01:06:59And he's like, no, I can't.
01:07:00Sorry, can't do it.
01:07:02We got a letter.
01:07:03We have to be there till the end.
01:07:04I'm just saying this.
01:07:05If I'm sitting naked in a tub with my wife or girlfriend or some hot girl, and say what you
01:07:12want.
01:07:12Michelle Pfeiffer is still hot.
01:07:14I am not talking about my daughter.
01:07:16All right?
01:07:17They could have already had the party.
01:07:19That party.
01:07:20I don't care.
01:07:21All right?
01:07:22Now they're just, you know, free flowing it.
01:07:24They're like, okay, now we can talk about this.
01:07:26You know?
01:07:27But at the end of the episode, she says what she's doing.
01:07:32Yeah.
01:07:33This is my home now.
01:07:35And it seems like maybe this would be a fast thing.
01:07:38Be like, wait a minute.
01:07:39You're just going to uproot everything.
01:07:41But reading these journals is where she realizes he's always wanted them to not even live there, but come visit.
01:07:49And they couldn't even do that.
01:07:51And she says, hey.
01:07:53That's so sad.
01:07:54This is where they're being buried.
01:07:56I will be buried here.
01:07:57If you guys want to, you can be buried here, but you don't have to be.
01:08:01All right?
01:08:03The condo is being sold.
01:08:04It's going to be put into trust.
01:08:06So this place will always remain in our family.
01:08:09So you, you know, and basically, like, this is what's going to pay for this.
01:08:12So if you guys aren't paying for it, something is going to be paying for it.
01:08:15So no one will uproot this here.
01:08:19This will never be sold.
01:08:20So is this going to be the show?
01:08:22Is this like City Slickers or Beverly Hillbillies?
01:08:25Like, are we bringing these people over into this environment and now try to retrofit?
01:08:32It's like, oh, they're going to adjust.
01:08:34I don't see the son-in-law staying here.
01:08:36Because that way he's going to give up whatever he's talking about.
01:08:37Well, there could be a controversy right there that he doesn't want to.
01:08:41Or maybe he's the one who's like, hey, I kind of like this.
01:08:43And Paige is the one that doesn't.
01:08:45I mean, Paige is concerned that, hey, oh, man, my ass is bigger because of things.
01:08:49Do you think it will be forever?
01:08:51Like, are you that stupid?
01:08:52Well, that's what he would say.
01:08:54He was like, who knows?
01:08:54I mean, yeah, they tried to have their little moment with Holt.
01:08:57I'm sorry.
01:08:58That guy should have asked for a divorce a long time ago.
01:09:01Yeah, that was terrible.
01:09:01No matter what he does, he's wrong.
01:09:03But the one thing Abigail does bring up, it's like, yeah, it looks nice now, but we talked
01:09:07about it before.
01:09:08Once the winter comes, who's going to shovel?
01:09:10Who's going to do this?
01:09:11She could still hire somebody.
01:09:12She's still got money.
01:09:14This isn't like remote to the point that she can't get people to work the land for her.
01:09:20She could still do that.
01:09:21You can rent out the cabins throughout the years.
01:09:23They're not going to be living there.
01:09:25Oh, she could build more cabins.
01:09:26Remember, we don't know the size of the land that she owns.
01:09:32Because remember, that was the other thing.
01:09:32It's really large.
01:09:33I mean, if she had to go find Stacey's meadow, right, there's a good amount of space.
01:09:41Is that his land or is that open land?
01:09:45No, that's his land because she asked about putting it there and said, yeah, but if you
01:09:49sell it.
01:09:50It would have been fun if we saw a sign off in the distance of the property of the Yellowstone,
01:09:55you know, Dutton family, because remember when they had their borders, because even
01:10:00though when they sell it, I mean, you still have to, they didn't have fences, but they
01:10:03said that they had poles or whatever that would say where, so you knew you were on private
01:10:08land.
01:10:08If you do remember, that was one of the conditions when they sold the Dutton ranch was that the
01:10:15cemetery has to stay there.
01:10:18Did it?
01:10:19Yes.
01:10:20That was one of the conditions that the cemetery has to stay there.
01:10:23Because don't you remember there was kids that went over and started knocking it over?
01:10:27Oh, yes, yes, yes.
01:10:28I think it was Moe that went over there and yelled at them.
01:10:29That's right.
01:10:29They were pushing over the tombstones and he was like, what are you doing?
01:10:33He's like, no, no, no, no.
01:10:34This stays here.
01:10:34We fix this.
01:10:35But this is staying.
01:10:36Yeah.
01:10:37Right.
01:10:37Pick it up.
01:10:38I wouldn't.
01:10:39Moe picked them.
01:10:39I think it was Moe picked them all up.
01:10:41I would have been like, no, no, no, no, no.
01:10:42You little bastard.
01:10:43You come up here and you pick up this tombstone.
01:10:46It's a lot easier to get them down than get them back up, isn't it?
01:10:49Exactly.
01:10:50Oh, man.
01:10:52But if she gives it, her friend is coming in.
01:10:56So we're going to see her friend come in.
01:11:00I wasn't sold on it after the first episode.
01:11:04I wasn't sold on it after the third episode.
01:11:09We're going to do three more in this season.
01:11:11And we don't have to.
01:11:12No, we could keep going because it's so short.
01:11:14It's so short.
01:11:15We could do another one like this.
01:11:16Because we did say we wanted to cover this.
01:11:19We like Taylor Sheridan.
01:11:22We like his shows, what he produces.
01:11:24So we appreciate the writing and the work that's involved in it.
01:11:27Kept saying this.
01:11:28I looked.
01:11:29It said executive producer again.
01:11:31And it said from the creator.
01:11:33It didn't say he wrote the script.
01:11:35I was looking to find it.
01:11:36I think this is, I think, I mean, I have not watched any of the Walking Dead spinoffs after what?
01:11:46There was the first two.
01:11:47I forgot his first name, but his last name, Gimbal.
01:11:49There is a writer.
01:11:51It's not Kirkman.
01:11:52Yeah, but doesn't Kirkman still get executive producer?
01:11:54Because.
01:11:55That's a good question.
01:11:56Because stories were created by him.
01:11:58The Walking Dead.
01:11:58Yeah, he gets executive, well, he gets created by, you know, world created by Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman.
01:12:05But he's still under, do you remember?
01:12:06I'm sure.
01:12:07Oh, I'm sure he's getting the cut.
01:12:08He's still under contract.
01:12:09I think, what's his face?
01:12:13Kirkman.
01:12:14He was, I don't know if he was like goer, wasn't retained or whatever.
01:12:17They, you know, they own the rights to it.
01:12:19That's why he killed the comic.
01:12:21Because he's like, screw you guys.
01:12:23Well, he was just.
01:12:24No, no, no.
01:12:25That wasn't true.
01:12:25He was just running his course.
01:12:27Originally, there was never an ending.
01:12:28And when it ended, I remember.
01:12:29Because I used to read.
01:12:31Number 98.
01:12:32Number 98.
01:12:33He needed 100.
01:12:33He's like, yeah, I'm done.
01:12:34Yeah.
01:12:35And I got it.
01:12:35And I'm like, okay, I'm reading.
01:12:37And I was like, the end.
01:12:38I was like, wait, what the hell?
01:12:39Because it did a huge time jump.
01:12:41And we got to see Carl older and everything.
01:12:44I was like, oh, wow.
01:12:44I feel like Kirkman had just finished watching, watching Forrest Gump, where he just gets done running.
01:12:50He's like, I'm done running.
01:12:52He's like, you know what?
01:12:53I'm done writing.
01:12:54I'm done.
01:12:54I think it was around this time that he had all these other projects announced with Amazon.
01:12:59You know, Invincible was coming over and stuff like that.
01:13:02And I think maybe he was like, you know what?
01:13:03Let's just end this so I can focus more on other projects.
01:13:06You know, he's got other comic series that he's working on and stuff.
01:13:09He can always come back to The Walking Dead.
01:13:11Oh, yeah.
01:13:11If he wanted to.
01:13:12But anyway, I enjoyed it.
01:13:16I was very disappointed.
01:13:1820 minutes into it, I told you, for me, I thought it was extremely sad.
01:13:25Like, wait a minute.
01:13:26Like, they just lost everything.
01:13:29But now we're seeing how they pick everything up.
01:13:31And we're seeing why she feels the way she does to stay there.
01:13:37You know, and again, I think we've all watched Episode 3 of Star Wars, Revenge of the Sith.
01:13:43And we're all like, wait a minute.
01:13:45So he just turned to the dark side that quickly.
01:13:48Kind of stupid.
01:13:49This, she's reading the journals.
01:13:51She's reading.
01:13:53And again, you would assume she's probably read more of it.
01:13:56I mean, more is going to come out.
01:13:59We'll see.
01:14:00We'll see where it goes.
01:14:01We'll see what happens when a friend shows up.
01:14:03Yeah.
01:14:04For me, it was figuring out the cabins.
01:14:06Like, this was my cabin.
01:14:08That was the girl's cabin.
01:14:09So how long had those cabins been around?
01:14:11Because it was clearly when they were kids.
01:14:14Yeah.
01:14:15I guess this is the life.
01:14:16We'll see how this goes.
01:14:18Because now that's the whole thing, right?
01:14:20This is all about the family.
01:14:22Will they stay?
01:14:23How they're adjusting to the whole thing?
01:14:26Is this going to be, what was it?
01:14:27Another little cool.
01:14:29Was it in the barn up top that they had a pool table?
01:14:32And a pinball machine and some other stuff?
01:14:34You know?
01:14:34A pinball machine that no one knows.
01:14:36Come on, who doesn't know?
01:14:37Are you serious?
01:14:38Especially Walt, though.
01:14:39Russell, you ain't that young.
01:14:40Russell, yeah.
01:14:41Oh, my Lord.
01:14:42That was like, or when they were talking about, what's it?
01:14:45The Egypt and the Sphinx or something to that effect during the meal.
01:14:51And I'm like, what's that?
01:14:52What's that?
01:14:53I thought you were super smart, these kids.
01:14:55What are you talking about?
01:14:55You don't know history?
01:14:57I do like the relationship between Russell and the two little girls.
01:15:03Because, you know, Paige goes off how, like, I'm basically their mom.
01:15:07I take them here.
01:15:08I take them there.
01:15:12Well, one thing, and then we'll just close out.
01:15:14But with, what's his name?
01:15:17The Cowboy's wife, right?
01:15:19When she did talk about the school, she was like, well, you know, it's a small community.
01:15:22Yeah, it's a small community.
01:15:24So, all the kids are in one cabin, you know, different rows.
01:15:28They keep it old school.
01:15:29And then so the young ones have questions.
01:15:30And then the older ones get accustomed to handling young ones and how that works.
01:15:35So, I'm wondering if we're going to see this happen with the kids, with Abigail's kids.
01:15:40And they're like, oh, you know what?
01:15:41While you're out here, we're going to put you in for some classes.
01:15:44Are we going to do that?
01:15:46Yeah, and again, because the kids are asked, like, wondering, like, hey, you know, when are we leaving?
01:15:50And she basically says, you guys want to leave, go.
01:15:53But just know this.
01:15:54This is what I'm doing.
01:15:56So, you better get your affairs in order because you ain't going to have these places much longer.
01:16:00She makes them, and that's the crazy part with all this.
01:16:03I can understand Stacey saying, I want to stay here.
01:16:05You mean stay, stay, like, right now?
01:16:07Like, you're never leaving?
01:16:08Or, like, let me go back, let me finish my affairs, let's get things in order, let's close things out,
01:16:13and then I'm going to move my stuff here.
01:16:16But she tells –
01:16:17I don't think so.
01:16:18I think she makes it seem like, no, that's it.
01:16:20But she says, I'm not going to love again.
01:16:23Yeah, that's the other thing.
01:16:24I'm never going to love again.
01:16:25She basically makes it clear, like, I don't want anyone else.
01:16:28This is – I want to see everything he always wanted me to come see.
01:16:33Everything in this journal I want to experience because this is the only thing.
01:16:38I have left of him.
01:16:39Well, it says he was 64 also, right?
01:16:42I think that was his 64.
01:16:4365?
01:16:43Okay.
01:16:46Well, we'll see.
01:16:47We'll see.
01:16:48All right, and what about you people?
01:16:49What do you think?
01:16:50Do you like the Madison?
01:16:51Which is the name of this ranch area.
01:16:53For those wondering, that's not their surname here.
01:16:57Do you like it?
01:16:58Are you watching?
01:16:59Exactly.
01:17:00That's where – there we go.
01:17:01It's like, oh, man.
01:17:01All right, wherever.
01:17:02Do you like this show?
01:17:03Are you going to keep watching it?
01:17:05It's definitely different than Marshall's.
01:17:07I saw a lot of people, like, you know, Taylor's shirt and property.
01:17:09Like, oh, I can't wait for this.
01:17:11Well, now we've seen it.
01:17:12It's not a direct spinoff or even connected anyway besides the Montana.
01:17:17Are you into it?
01:17:19Yeah, at least we've seen it.
01:17:21Is this what you wanted?
01:17:22This is what you expect?
01:17:24Are you going to keep watching?
01:17:25It's not a hard watch because there's only three more episodes, and then that's it.
01:17:28So, I don't see why not watch it.
01:17:32You know, but so, who knows?
01:17:34Let us know in the comments.
01:17:35Let us know.
01:17:36If not, then whatever.
01:17:38Then you're not going to watch it.
01:17:39We'll know by the news.
01:17:41Well, no, exactly.
01:17:42All right, everybody.
01:17:43Thanks again for sticking with us.
01:17:44By the time you see this, you'll already see, and I'll put a little end screen.
01:17:48You'll see Marshall's Episode 3 is out.
01:17:50Road to Nowhere.
01:17:52That was a fun one.
01:17:53It was a fun one.
01:17:54So, go check that out if you want some more action instead of all this drama here.
01:17:57This review might be a road to nowhere for all we know.
01:18:00Exactly.
01:18:01This could be a road to nowhere.
01:18:02We got like five people, one thumbs up.
01:18:05They're like, yay.
01:18:06All right.
01:18:07Talk to you later.
01:18:08All right.
01:18:08Take care.
01:18:09Bye.
