Israeli police prevent Jerusalem's Latin Patriarch from celebrating Palm Sunday Mass

Jerusalem's Latin Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa and the Custos of the Holy Land, Father Francesco Ielpo, were prevented by Israeli police from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Palm Sunday.It was the "first time in centuries" the Heads of Church were prevented from attending.

00:33but still to have the heads of churches not being able to celebrate one of the most sacred days of

00:40in the Holy Sepulchre, in the most sacred place for Christians, is something unheard of.
00:45Reactions quickly poured in from Europe and the Catholic world.
00:48Italy's foreign minister said he had summoned Israel's ambassador over the incident,
00:53while French President Emmanuel Macron called the incident alarming.
00:58Since U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran sparked the war last month,
01:03Israeli authorities have banned large gatherings, including at synagogues, churches and mosques.
01:09The Israeli government said the measures were in place to protect people
01:13from potential Iranian missile strikes in the area.
