35:33bought cornerbacks the boardroom last week he's definitely gonna bring me back if we lose it's game
35:38on I'm ready for a war I feel like I'm walking into a lion's den with nothing to defend myself

35:43it is a live TV selling challenge I'm not sure if I sold anything so that leaves me in a
35:48pretty
35:48vulnerable position you can go through to the boardroom now
36:11so TV shopping um team alpha I believe that Karishma you wanted to be the project manager
36:21is that right yes Lord Sugar but then again Pasha you haven't been a project manager have you you
36:27kind of like ducked it um I was waiting for the right task I haven't got experience live selling
36:32however I do have a big following on TikTok and I do have a social media presence so you know
36:39I just
36:39felt like my skills and abilities would be best for this this sort of task so Pasha's passion versus
36:47Karishma's charisma yeah I've heard that and I think we worked really well together okay so product
36:53selection the structure that I went in with is I want a high cost item and a low cost item
36:58if we can
36:59sell just a few of the high cost items potentially that could be the reason that we win the task
37:04so
37:04what you ended up with was the headphones the water flosser and table tennis yeah so where was you
37:12like um Karishma while this all this was going on so Lawrence and I spoke of the jewelry expert we
37:18were also joined with Rothner and Dan and we kind of were competing to get the product we wanted
37:23and we expressed our interest in the mid-range item you mean the ring the ring the tanzanite
37:29ring I was watching you uh selling that stuff apparently there was 11 in stock or something like
37:35that is that right yeah yeah um there still is 11 in stock there is at the moment yeah because
37:43I'm
37:43afraid you didn't succeed and then one of the reasons I think you didn't succeed was because in my opinion
37:49you missed out the point of who you were selling to it should be love it should be about you
37:56know a gift
37:57for somebody instead you start giving them a geographic um description of where it comes from who gives a
38:05shit about that not exactly lord of the rings there my friend not quite no I mean in fairness
38:12Karishma knew a lot about the rings and I think there was a bit of scarcity because um it only
38:17comes
38:18from a very small area hmm anyway I think the first people on your team was you and you with
38:26the
38:26headphones right yeah okay and in the gallery was them two correct yeah and silence I heard you sat
38:34there doing nothing for a while Karishma you were close to the mic do you do you agree with that
38:40um so
38:41we were instructing was you getting much feedback initially um initially to be honest my earpiece
38:47was cutting out every time it wasn't cutting out they weren't talking okay well I mean my noise
38:54cancelling headphones it sounded like you must have had noise cancelling microphones in there anyway then
39:00we come on to the flosser yeah I was very confident selling it just because I have it at home
39:06and I did want
39:07to have food there as well which unfortunately I saw that you had some spinach you stick some in your
39:13mouth right and then you get the machine blow on it and then you take it out your mouth with
39:19your
39:19fingers again yeah it was very very very good yeah the water power coming out but it was powerful
39:25yeah I could use it to clean my car yeah yeah and then there's the ping pong I like that

39:31thing I was thinking of setting it up in here for me and uh you sold 28 of those actually
39:40yeah
39:40anyway there we are so team eclipse now Connor you ended up with what I will call the core machine
39:49uh yoga mat correct boring uh and the shoe dryer unusual item right um so you start off um Connor
40:00with
40:00the um the core circus it looked like you're having an argument with an ironing board actually
40:06yeah yeah I definitely um look I came in with high energy and passion and I was hoping to shift
40:11that
40:11by using my energy then you then you call upon Dan he comes in done a few bits and pieces
40:17and then went
40:18off we were we were we were doing a couple to work out at one stage I was doing Pilates
40:23and Dan was
40:24doing some core exercises so yeah I do I do think it was sellable I just probably didn't do myself
40:29justice moving on from there then so you had the um bracelet you looked like you're putting on
40:36handcuffs at one stage a lot you lost the key you're fumbling around Dan did very well in terms of
40:46his
40:46engaging with the customers and saying their names actually saying which are the key yeah when you that
40:50it was quite clever that when we said thank you for the order and all that oh they got some
40:54orders
40:54did they oh yeah they got some orders yeah um I was extremely proud of Dan for putting himself out
40:59of
41:00his comfort zone almost and really applying himself he exceeded probably all of our expectations
41:05there you go compliments there Dan that's very kind compliments all right um moving on we've got uh
41:12Kieran on the uh yoga mat yoga mat and that I mean I've got to tell you that was painful
41:18my friend
41:19painful did you say I'll do that one I said I would do that one um but I also offered
41:27to
41:27take a high-end it looked like a thick doormat to me
41:31it's yeah as yoga mats go it wasn't bad yeah can I just add law sugar I expected that the
41:37boys would
41:38probably pick an item that they were personally really confident selling Kieran's great at selling
41:41so I was pretty shocked that he was just going to be selling the mats but then he was confident
41:46he
41:46could sell them in large quantity okay well moving on we went to the most unusual item the shoe dryer
41:55which Levi uh took the role that's right lord sugar yeah that's correct I mean it's an unusual item
42:01in fact I bought one for my wife for Christmas so she's going to be delighted when she opens it
42:09up
42:10so she's going to throw that straight back at you yeah I mean you're putting shoes on the wrong way
42:15around pouring water in trainers um to be fair lord sugar and um butch cassidy here comes running in
42:24at the end uh to help you out you know it were quite hard to get me bearings to be
42:29fair lord sugar it
42:30were um in gallery it sounded like somebody ate the microphone and uh people just shouting and then
42:37yeah it was hard to concentrate try and get a point across while it's getting loading the ear
42:44right okay well um it's that time now let's have a look and see how we did shall we so

42:56thing you should know about tv selling is that you may have expectations of what you think you sold
43:04but as you know people change their minds right so i've now got the real confirmed figures
43:12from the shopping channel so tim can you tell me the final results of your team well you mentioned a
43:19number of sales have been made but unfortunately not all of those sales went through including the one
43:25high priced item of the core crusher that was almost sold but somebody pulled out but they
43:31still managed to sell 18 products giving them a total sales on the day of 773 pounds and 82
43:39well done everyone right okay good karen same question how did your team get on well unfortunately
43:46not all of their sales went through um including one of the high priced headphones um and their highest
43:55priced item alan the ring you know they they didn't sell any of those at all um but they did
44:02still
44:02manage to sell 40 items across the hour totaling 893 pounds and 60 pence right well done team alpha
44:15your first time as a project manager and you pulled it through yeah okay make your way back to the
44:22house

45:14in the final five we just need to get there now one of the things that i did say in
45:22strategy is like
45:23bringing high energy was great but i think ultimately what you two failed to do was to
45:27harness it in the correct way we sold me yeah and i accept i didn't you guys only saw two
45:32units each
45:32i had to roll up bit of phone mate connor sold nothing kieran didn't sell a lot and he's supposed
45:37to be an amazing salesperson and quite frankly i don't really know what levi is good at other than
45:40being a great guy the one person i was disappointed in kieran is you i have to say i've worked
45:44with you
45:44and i thought you're great when you're presenting i honestly thought you you'd do a bit better just
45:48because we felt the task for lack of instruction and no sales kieran loves to deflect and he loves
45:53to say he can't do something at the last moment he said he'd take a high ticket item just as
45:56we were
45:56heading out the door as he sounded enthusiastic about the yoga mat i gave it to him then he said
46:00maybe not i can't do yoga the reality is is that we didn't make enough sales it's down to selling
46:04i mean myself and rothner sold the most and i know it wasn't loads but we sold
46:08high ticketed items and sold multiple of them i would have thought with lower ticketed items we
46:12could have sold a few more the failure in this task lies with project manager connor and kieran
46:16the polar opposites they don't work well together in it and it showed in this task
46:33yes would you send the candidates in please
46:47well uh you lot lost by 120 pounds which
46:54it's not a lot of money now alpha sold 40 products and you sold 18 only so connor the core
47:05machine that you demonstrated the last time the professional presenter did it they sold 55
47:13yeah so so my plan with the core circuit yoga was two two target audience the older or maybe new
47:19to
47:19fitness and then the more experienced user of fitness like myself i demonstrated as someone who's
47:24maybe avid in fitness and wants to use it to enhance their workouts maybe after a cardio session
47:27i think it implied you had to be very fit to use it yeah um anybody i'm not surprised you
47:33were
47:33sweating because you hadn't sold any yeah definitely i did give it my all it did give
47:37my energy and i hold my hands up i'm disappointed as pm that i didn't sell one item i mean
47:41dan walking
47:42and it looked like you called in a bloke from from it you know now then um rosner and dan
47:51the bracelets
47:53um you only sold three they usually sell 21 in that slot i am disappointed that we only ended
48:01up selling three of them i did really believe in the product and i hoped it come across if you'd
48:06have got the ring and sold three of them yeah like you sold three of the bracelets you would have
48:09won
48:10so we didn't go why didn't you get the ring we we thought maybe connor might find the ring a
48:14bit
48:14too expensive he was quite clear about asking for a mid-range item but me he did when i asked
48:19for
48:20numbers in the brainstorm he didn't give any numbers the mid-range my mid-range could be very different
48:24to your mid-range your role was to pick deal of the day so what what she's trying to say
48:28is that
48:28it was left to our own devices to pick what we thought was the most sensible item that we could
48:33sell
48:33on tv but that's what that's why you replaced and you picked the cheapest yeah um now moving on
48:39the yoga mat this company has sold 390 in the last session you sold six and you say you are
48:50a
48:50um super salesman exactly i'm a salesman yeah absolutely um we didn't sell many did you so i did
48:57offer to swap the high-end item i was told no were you not extremely enthusiastic about the yoga mat
49:02i said i could take it i wasn't mate i'd done the setups i'd done a few press-ups exactly
49:06levi was levi come in to perform on the mat right at the end you should have sent him in
49:11out there it were a bit painful to watch so i looked at galleries you were painful to watch my
49:16friend you were really painful to watch all the way around including the shoe dryer thing i mean
49:22what a bloody product that is and you know what they usually sell 300 in a session 300 i've never
49:29heard
49:29of it and you sold three i did try to explain about the shoe drying properties but when i had
49:34somebody
49:34like team shouting in my ears i had kieran walking towards me were very distracted for me well one
49:41of the comments from a viewer was that this is a joke i'm flabbergasted i can't watch it anymore
49:46i tuned out right and i have to say i was flabbergasted also i think it was diabolical
49:52i do believe that um on reflection it is um
50:00it's actually time i've won most at task lord sugar but no you didn't win them you didn't win them
50:06you didn't you was on winning teams so so you know what um levi um it is with uh regret

51:22i've ever seen in this whole process the worst painful anyway kieran i mean he's a chirpy chappy
51:29he chirped a lot but he didn't make the sales the important thing on this task was to convert
51:34the products to something that the audience wanted and unfortunately made such a hash of that matt nobody
51:41bought anywhere near the numbers that you said you got from the channel themselves then the man
51:47obviously they sold three bracelets had they instead of chosen the ring and sold three rings
51:52they would have won i mean he was with rothner when they picked it maybe they didn't engage the
51:57buyers as well as they could have um connor well connor's a great talker he emphasized his ability in
52:04front of the camera but he wasn't that good behind the camera unfortunately a lot of this does rest on
52:09his shoulders hmm could you send the three of them in please
52:24so on this task connor you were the project manager you've been a project manager twice right
52:32and regretfully you lost twice
52:35um why have you brought these two back in then um when i made my selection i reviewed the entire
52:41process that we've made it here um when it comes to kieran in fairness to kieran kieran has grabbed
52:46the bull by the horns and he's really applied himself but at times he's being called difficult
52:50to work with and disruptive so in terms of looking for your next apprentice i just don't know if he
52:54would be the correct candidate everyone works with people different correct yeah and that's that's not
52:59my decision to make but that's just my perspective when it came to dan dan was slow to get into
53:04the
53:04process and maybe didn't apply himself every week to the extent that me personally has well i mean
53:09this was a selling task um myself i sold 300 pounds worth of stuff they sold 60 pounds between both
53:14and
53:15i think throughout the whole of this process i know it took me a little while to settle into it
53:18but this has been a big learning curve for myself i've developed a lot of skills i've learned how to
53:22work with people but i wouldn't necessarily usually work with and i think i've really grown in this
53:25process in terms of becoming a better business business person for yourself lord sugar hmm kieran
53:31super salesman sold six been on the losing side five times yes lord sugar i've put myself forward for
53:41a lot of things i haven't shied away i've give everything my all some it's the team effort not
53:46just an individual effort so where i might have small wins the team may not always win hmm right
53:53well here we have a dilemma really i have to make a decision lord sugar if i may yes i've
54:00been
54:00project manager twice on the same task and you won once by a deep arguably a one a win yeah
54:07yeah
54:09if i stay in this process i would like to be the project manager on task 10 to prove to
54:14you
54:14what i can do if i lose we shake hands i walk out all right that's very interesting anybody else
54:21want
54:22to make that offer uh i don't feel the need to you can i can if i want to i
54:26felt that i over the last
54:28eight tasks i don't need another task to prove myself i have given myself one you lost you know
54:33you've lost five you've been in the losing team five times correct and every time within those tasks
54:38the project manager has usually always had a very specific role that they've wanted me to excel in
54:42and at numerous times within this process i have excelled i don't need a tenth task to beg you to
54:47to take me you don't i don't i don't think i do what about you dan i feel like over
54:53the past nine
54:54tasks i've really kind of proven myself in many different ways um i i do believe that ultimately
55:00you've got to decide who you want to go into business with i know that i've only ever worked
55:03for myself i'm an entrepreneur through and through that's all i know and the industry that i'm in
55:07i know it so well so it's whether you think there's great potential with my business that i've got
55:11and if it's something you want to join me on the journey with i have observed you over the past
55:17nine
55:18weeks um then you're going to remain in this process okay thank you lord sugar um this leaves me you
55:33too
55:39and yeah
55:48at this stage connor it's been very nice to uh meet you and be associated with you
55:54but i have to think about a kind of a gut feeling okay so you're fired thank you so much
