00:02Golf superstar Tiger Woods was arrested on Friday afternoon on a charge of driving under
00:07the influence after his SUV rolled over on a two-lane road near his Jupiter Island home
00:13in Florida, the Martin County Sheriff's Office said.
00:16The 15-time major champion was later released, with Florida law requiring him to remain in
00:22jail for at least eight hours before posting bail.
00:24According to Sheriff John Budenseek, Woods had been overtaking a work truck pulling a
00:29trailer at high speed when he clipped the back of it, causing his SUV to roll onto its driver's
00:35side.
00:35The individual driving that Land Rover was able to crawl out the passenger door of the
00:39car and was identified to be Mr. Tiger Woods.
00:44Our DUI investigators came to the scene here, and Mr. Woods did exemplify signs of impairment.
00:51They did several tests on him.
00:53Of course, he did explain the injuries and the surgeries that he had.
00:56We did take that into account.
00:57But they did do some in-depth roadside tests.
01:02And when it was determined, he was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County Jail.
01:07At the Martin County Jail, and even on scene, we really weren't suspicious of alcohol being
01:12involved in this case.
01:13And that proved to be true at the jail.
01:15So Mr. Woods did a breathalyzer test, blew triple zeros.
01:19But when it came time for us to ask for a urinalysis test, he refused.
01:23And so he's been charged with DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
01:30In the crash, no one was injured.
01:32Mr. Woods did not seem to be injured at all, and the other gentlemen were not injured.
01:37This marks the second time Woods has faced DUI charges, having been arrested in 2017 in Jupiter,
01:44Florida, later pleading guilty to reckless driving.
