00:47Hello everyone, happy to be back on the channel.
00:50Look at the plethora of versions that the developer has made available to us.
00:54It's really impressive, I'm not going to show them all or we'll be here all day.
01:00There tomorrow morning.
01:01You will also receive about thirty booklets with the data; that's really generous.
01:06that side.
01:07This 2024 version will be sold at half price to previous Kodiak owners
01:13In Flight Simulator 2020, it's between 15 and 20 euros, I don't know the exact price.
01:19at the moment I record the video.
01:22I don't know what the community will think; it's always a controversial issue.
01:26this story about a paid update.
01:28You might say in the comments, but today we're going to focus on what makes wealth
01:34of the situation.
01:35For me, it was the first time I flew the Kodiak and I have some things
01:39to say.
01:39First, thank you to Simwork Studios for allowing us to have a preview of
01:44their new version on the channel.
01:46Please note, however, that this is not the final version; this build was provided to me.
01:51sent a few days ago and the final version is likely to be slightly
01:56different.
01:57We'll start now with the classic tour of the aircraft using Flight Simulator.
02:022024.
02:03Personally, it's a new feature of this simulator that I appreciate, especially when the developer
02:08It takes the opportunity to push the realism further, as is the case here.
02:11Indeed, each interaction offers a specific sound effect; we have access to the motor.
02:17with a beautiful model of the Pratt & Whitney PT6 and it even has a small oil dipstick
02:23that can be verified.
02:24So I don't yet have enough perspective to tell you if this feature is purely
02:29graphically, or if the studio pushed realism to the point of oil consumption, which is
02:34entirely possible and which can now be found on other devices.
02:39As you can see graphically, the accent code is nicely modeled, in my opinion.
02:43The graphics are quite decent, without being at the cutting edge of what exists today.
02:49But it's very clean and convincing.
02:52For people in a hurry, or who, like me, own a monstrous hangar with 300 airplanes
02:58waiting to take off and with a small memory, we have a super handy new feature
03:04with the auto start which has been sequenced to comply with the start-up checklist.
03:10You can see the levers moving automatically and I admit that for me it's a little gem.
03:17I know what you're thinking, I enjoy learning all the startup sequences of airplanes.
03:23That's not the problem, but when you don't have the time or the inclination, a quick check
03:27And off we go, honestly I'm over the moon.
03:30So yes, when I speak it doesn't necessarily correspond to what you see right now at the
03:35'screen,
03:35But this time I've prepared my text and I'm not just doing a quick preview.
03:39In the cockpit, everything is clean, the textures are clear and precise, the rendering is convincing.
03:45The same applies to night lighting.
03:47Passengers and luggage can be added to all compartments.
03:51This is still quite rare these days, and therefore it deserved to be highlighted.
03:56Regarding the sound, as I mentioned earlier with certain effects,
04:00It's high quality, the engine is pleasant, the beta range doesn't feel strange, it's good
04:05And even the flybys look good, so nothing to complain about, well done on the work.
04:11Where each device is different, well, normally, with more or less nuance,
04:17It's based on its flight model, and that's really the part that surprised me the most.
04:22Simwork Studio's accent code has a real identity once you have the Yook in hand.
04:28I don't know if this was already the case in Fly Simulator 2020,
04:32But now, after spending time with the A2A Aerostar, the Black Square caravan,
04:39The sensations are completely different.
04:42Obviously, you may not agree with me, but that's what I felt.
04:47We already have very precise and responsive commands.
04:50You can feel that switching from one angle to the other takes time.
04:54and it requires an effort from the aircraft, which is quite pleasant.
04:57I was also surprised by its versatility; it can land just about anywhere.
05:03However, if one takes the trouble to tame the beast,
05:06because landings require real learning.
05:10At least, that was the case for me.
05:12And you don't land a Kodiak the same way you land a Cessna Caravan.
05:16Believe me, it has nothing to do with it.
05:33But with its massive Thunra wheels, it really can land anywhere and that's very cool.
05:39As for the engine, I'm still a little underwhelmed, to be honest.
05:42And it's certainly an excellent representation of the true Kodiak.
05:47This engine is capable of flying and taking off with substantial loads.
05:52but its cruising speed is quite limited.
05:55As well as its ability to quickly gain altitude in mountainous environments.
06:00Especially since it's a fairly robust and agile aircraft,
06:04It could use a bit more horsepower in my opinion.
06:08And if I'm not mistaken, I believe a more powerful version is actually in the works.
06:12at Simwa.
06:15The only point I would like to see addressed in a future update is
06:19From what I've been able to observe so far,
06:21It's the level of detail, the loads on the flybys,
06:25with entire sections of the plane suddenly disappearing.
06:28Even though few people use these cameras,
06:32Or maybe in multiplayer, that's where it will be most noticeable.
06:36Right now, it's not very nice to have elements that suddenly disappear.
06:40at a relatively short distance.
06:44Finally, one last small regret,
06:45Simworks does not offer a custom EFB tablet.
06:50which has become very, very rare these days.
06:53So I hope that in a future update, this will happen.
06:57I will conclude by saying that this plane was an excellent surprise.
07:02I appreciate its handling, which requires finesse.
07:05the numerous features and, above all, the absence of unpleasant surprises.
07:09I now better understand why the community has always been so complimentary about this device.
07:15I'll now leave you with a short flight demonstration.
07:19and also a preview of the amphibious version.
07:22See you very soon on the channel, have fun, fly safe, bye bye.
10:45Here we go.
11:11Here we go.
11:44Here we go.
12:13Here we go.
12:54500.
12:55Here we go.
13:29Here we go.
13:32Here we go.
13:49Here we go.
13:51Here we go.
13:56Here we go.
14:03Here we go.
14:17Here we go.
14:18Here we go.

Décors idyllique de St Barth pour cette magnifique version native MSFS 2024 du Kodiak. Et sa piste d'atterrissage proche de l'enfer !!! Heureusement, le reverse fait des merveilles :-) Merci Captain pour ces magnifiques images
