00:00I was wondering if we could have a little chat.
00:03What was the first thing that popped in your head when you heard the show come back?
00:06Do you know what it was? Should I tell you?
00:07Yeah.
00:09Damn it, Vincent's right.
00:11It's true.
00:12Yay, damn it.
00:15It's not entirely unpleasant seeing you again.
00:18I could say the same about you.
00:20We got an early script and they had come up with the idea of like,
00:24we want to bring you guys together early on and then again later, much later.
00:28Yeah.
00:29So we have this idea.
00:30We sat down with Dario and the directors, Aaron and Justin,
00:33and they had an early draft of that scene and we workshopped it for hours.
00:38Yeah.
00:38One of the things that we came up with was we think there should be a moment of levity at
00:42the top of the scene
00:42where we seem like friends, where there's laughter, there's humor, there's something,
00:47and then it can get nasty. It's a cool moment.
00:49If you step out of line, I will be there.
00:53So Eldon, I don't know about you, but after five years of being away from these characters,
00:58was there a challenge in coming back to it?
01:01I don't think so.
01:02I like thoroughly enjoy playing foggy.
01:05You know, there's a lot of aspects to him that I sort of strive for myself in my life.
01:10Sort of felt natural to fall back into it.
01:13There's always that danger, I think, sometimes when you take time away from a character,
01:16that you come back and you're doing an impression of yourself as you used to five years,
01:22allowed me to go, oh, well, she's grown and changed, right?
01:25This is a new version of this character, so she doesn't actually have to be exactly like or similar.
01:31The thing about playing foggy is just like the connection with the fans and how much they love it
01:36and how excited they get and like, you know what I mean, like that really is kind of special.
01:40Yeah, didn't something happen to you, like someone came up to you and they were like really mad?
01:43Oh, yes, yeah.
01:44What was that again?
01:44It was like people would stop me on the street and they were like,
01:47why are you mad at Matt for being a superhero?
01:50You should think that's awesome.
01:52It is.
01:52Cool, thanks for the notes, you know.
01:55That's a good point.
01:55A lot of these people absolutely hate you.
02:01I can bring back events from my own life and use them in him all the time.
02:07You know, I love that.
02:08He's very, very sensitive, very vulnerable in his own kind of crazy narcissist way.
02:13You are all here to help me execute simple promises.
02:18I guess the answer is he's just a great character.
02:20Yeah, I've been really lucky that he's been written so well.
02:23In real life, I'm like such a people pleaser.
02:26I really, like, care what people think.
02:28And I love that Matt doesn't at all.
02:31It's kind of quite empowering.
02:32It's also really fun to be a superhero.
02:34You can kind of lean into the bad stuff, as it were, like character flaws, temper,
02:39or being too aggressive or too violent at times and crossing over those lines.
02:44Because you're ultimately playing a superhero and you ultimately will come good in the end,
02:47it's kind of, that duality is really fun.
02:50Well then, we really do understand each other.
02:52Well done.
