00:07When I was 23, my boyfriend and I broke up, so I was in the process of moving away from
00:12my hometown to Houston.
00:14I just wanted to start over somewhere new.
00:17It was about 3 a.m., and I was driving through a small town in Texas on my way to
00:23Houston
00:23when I decided to stop for gas.
00:26It was pretty empty, but the gas station was open.
00:30As I was filling up, looking at my phone, I saw a truck pull up to the pump on the
00:35other
00:35side of me.
00:36I wasn't paying any attention until I put my phone in my pocket to put the nozzle back,
00:41and I saw a man just staring at me.
00:44I smiled at him, turning to put the gas cap back on, when I saw four more men, two on
00:50either
00:50side.
00:51I thought that was weird, but I just wanted to get in my car and go.
00:55As I went to pull the handle on my door, they attacked me.
00:59I was screaming and kicking and fighting as hard as I could, but I wasn't strong enough.
01:04Two of them pulled me into the backseat of the truck while two of them pushed me in.
01:09I ended up draped over their laps.
01:11I was still trying to get free, but it was hard to move with their weight holding me
01:15down.
01:47I was panicking and still crying, just telling them to let me go.
01:50I wouldn't say anything.
01:52I wouldn't tell anyone.
01:53That's what I told them.
01:54They started talking to each other in another language, one I couldn't recognize.
02:00Looking around the room, I saw bags and beer cans, lots of beer cans.
02:05It smelled like they had all been staying in this one room with two beds for a while.
02:10I don't really want to get into what they did to me, but at some point, one of the men
02:15said
02:15they needed more beer.
02:16They decided the smallest one was going to stay in the room with me.
02:21So after the other four left, it was just me and the man who looked to be around my age.
02:27I remember thinking, I could probably beat him up if I get loose.
02:32I asked him if I could use the bathroom, and when he untied me, I bolted for the door.
02:38I swung the door open, and he grabbed my arm.
02:41I yelled, get off me, and he let go, eyes wide.
02:45I ran down the street, no clothes on, and jumped in front of the first car I saw.
02:50It was a confused elderly man.
02:53He rolled down his window and yelled, what are you doing?
02:57Like I was ruining his morning or something.
02:59I told him I needed help and that I was kidnapped.
03:02He drove me to the police station where I was given scrubs and could file a report.
03:08They ended up saying I needed to go to the hospital for an examination
03:12so they could record any evidence that the man-man left on me.
03:16I just wanted to shower and go home, honestly.
03:20I just wanted to talk to my mom.
03:23They found the men the same day.
03:25It turns out they were all brothers.
03:29They didn't say what they planned on doing with me after, or why they did it in the first place.
03:35They claimed to be all blackout drunk at the time.
03:38I ended up moving to the other side of the country, and even though I know they're still in prison,
03:44I get nightmares about what happened.
03:47I don't use my phone at all in public anymore.
03:50And my current boyfriend says I'm too paranoid.
03:53But I have to be, right?
03:56I never want to feel that weak again in my life.
03:59I never want to feel that weak again in my life.
