00:01So Naomi sort of heading into the start of the season just obviously an exciting time obviously
00:05and looking forward to it. Yeah really excited we've just come back from a team tour in Desert
00:11Springs so everyone's ready to go to get outside and start the season it's been a long hard winter
00:17so yeah I think everyone's really excited to get going bring the team together and hopefully start
00:22off strong. Good tour obviously to get away as a group really sort of got a lot out of that.

00:26massively I think you know for Hampshire women it's our first tour for the women's side and so it was
00:32a
00:32really good time to gel together as a team. A couple of new faces you know the coaches getting involved
00:40as well so it was a really important time for us to gel together as well as put in all
00:44the hard work
00:45and put into practice what we've been doing over the winter and seeing that out in the middle
00:49gives us a really good idea of where we're at and what we need to continue to do. All the
00:55new faces
00:55all sort of gelled in well and very much part of the group now? Yeah it's been great like they
00:59seem to have fit in seemingly well and yeah I just feel like they've been part of the group
01:06the whole time they've brought a lot of energy in and around the group as well which is always needed
01:11you know in tough times when you have more energetic characters and that always helps so they've been
01:16great and I hope they go well this season. Obviously now this is sort of the second year of the
01:21new
01:21women's sort of you know professionalisation and tier one yeah how do you find sort of the first
01:27year and obviously it's obviously going to keep getting sort of bigger and better really isn't
01:30it so yeah it's been great you know just aligning with the men's team you know wearing the same kit
01:35training at the same ground it just feels like one club and one family really so just that continuation
01:43of that and almost like sharing resources helped us become better and learn off the guys as well as
01:49hopefully the guys taking some stuff from us as well yeah it's really exciting to see how the
01:54game's going to grow this year and I have a good feeling that the standards just going to keep
01:58going up and up as well from last year to this year. Yeah obviously yeah because obviously it was all
02:02new sort of the professionalisation last year wasn't it so it's 12 months down the line as you say it's
02:07going to keep improving really isn't it? Yeah yeah exactly I think there's a lot of young players
02:11coming through across the across the UK and you know we're going to see a lot more of that and
02:16a lot more
02:17fearless cricket I think and so it's going to be really exciting to see how that plays out and
02:22where the standard keeps going to and keep challenging each other and that's exactly what
02:26we want from the game and the women's game to keep growing. And just sort of yeah the journey the
02:31game's been on really over the years it's sort of just kept growing and growing as you say it's just
02:35going to keep the potential for growth going forward just so much isn't it? Yeah definitely like
02:39it's it's always good to you know keep improving the standard and make sure you want to be better
02:45and if you're always trying to like be competitive and be challenged it's only going to make the game
02:50go stronger and we want it to you know get to new heights and you know bring in the fans
02:55so they can
02:56see how good the standard is and keep bringing in fans and new crowds into watching the women's game
03:01as much as possible so it's important that we keep improving our skills and keep doing that and showcasing
03:07what we have. Good mix in across the group you know experience and obviously a lot of youngsters
03:11as well they've obviously got high ceilings and high growth to come yeah. Yeah it's um for the first
03:16time I've already filmed definitely in the slightly older category but they keep you know like I feel
03:20feel just as young as they do and um yeah having the new young faces um it's exciting again it
03:27brings
03:27um different perspectives into the game different um ways of thinking but also it's really exciting the
03:33players that we have and um I'm really excited to see how um how they go and how they can
03:38express
03:39themselves and yeah the balance with the senior players um creates a really great environment for
03:44learning and and for growing and um sharing those sharing those experiences and learnings um with
03:50them so I'm excited to um take that kind of senior role as well and um and share my experiences

03:55the younger players. You very much see that sort of as part of your role now? Yeah yeah I think
04:01so I um I think
04:02naturally like um always like helping like the girls that come through and um just you know leading
04:08by example as much as I can through my own cricket and not necessarily by what I say um just
04:14by the
04:14actions and the way I train and and do things so um hopefully that filters through and um yeah just
04:20just passing on as much as I can and and also as I said learning from them and um trying
04:25to have an
04:26open environment to to all aspects of the game. And just sort of confident as a group can push for
04:30silverware is that very much sort of the target potentially? Yeah yeah definitely I mean last
04:34year you know getting to uh the final in the 50 over competition we probably slightly exceeded our
04:40expectations there but you know as the competition went along we we felt that we were very we very
04:46much we're ready to to win that final it's a great final so um yeah we want to go one
04:51one better and
04:52um do a lot better in the t20 competitions you know find ways to get over the line and a
04:58lot of
04:58close games last year so you're actually um learning how to put those plans into into practice and see
05:05uh where that takes us in t20 so the game's come thick and fast so um yeah we're ready for
05:11it we're
05:11excited to um hopefully do one better than last year. And just a message to the supporters obviously
05:15very much looking forward to getting back and watching their cricket just a message to them?
05:19Yeah it's always a great time here and you know lots of people always say like the fans are
05:23we've probably got the best fans um at the utility bowl so um just keep coming and supporting us
05:28we're only a yellow and blue and um hopefully we can put on good performances um for you and uh
05:34yeah hopefully we'll be the season um all round.
