00:00On his deathbed, Ravan says, this is probably the only way I could have met Ram.
00:04This is probably the only way I could have gained my liberation through him.
00:08The only way he could have touched me, the only way I could have allowed him to touch me
00:12was through his arrows.
00:15Hanuman loves it when Ram touches him, doesn't he?
00:18But Hanuman has ego of a particular kind.
00:21He is a simple, straightforward being.
00:23So he just goes to Ram and when Ram blesses him on the head or the forehead,
00:27Hanuman is delighted.
00:28Ravan is a different kind of being.
00:31He too wants the blessings of Ram, but then he won't let Ram come to him.
00:36That's the kind of conditioning he has.
00:38So he says, if you want to touch me, hit me.
00:40These things cannot be measured on a moral scale.
00:43Ram's arrows piercing Ravan's heart are like the eyes of the deity piercing the heart of the devoted.
