00:35Tyr was going to be your ultimate test
00:38When you play Ragnarok
00:39And you meet Tyr for the first time
00:41You think you're going to fight this character
00:43You see them standing up, you know, Tyr's so intimidating
00:46And then, you know, in typical Santa Monica fashion
00:49We change expectations and we subvert them
00:52But I think a lot of people kind of play that game
00:54They're like, what if Kratos and Tyr spark it out?
00:58And we wanted to dig into that
00:59And really, like, figuring out how does Tyr fight?
01:03What's that relationship?
01:04Because they are sparring
01:05It's a very different relationship than we've ever seen Kratos
01:08You know, fight against someone else
01:10And Tyr kind of bringing this almost worldly knowledge
01:13From all the places he's visited, right?
01:15That was one of the things we really wanted to do with Tyr
01:17To showcase how he
01:19The history behind him traveling to all these different places, right?
01:22So that's why we have these different weapons
01:24That he brings out from different locations in the world
01:27Yeah, those intros
01:28Every time I saw the animations for the intros
01:30Where he's pulling out the different weapon
01:31As soon as that started coming online
01:33We were like, we were getting pretty hype about it
01:35If you notice for folks that have a keen ear
01:38They will hear some slightly different tunes
01:42When each weapon is introduced
01:43That is kind of tied to the weapon as well
01:46And then his styles of combat change
01:48I think you'll enjoy it
01:50If that's the word
01:52Gameplay mechanics actually are influenced by the region
01:55That he's kind of bringing to each part of the fight
01:59We also play around with some mechanics
02:01That are a bit different than fights that you would have in the base game
02:04And ultimately it's like two God of Wars going at each other
02:07Exactly, so that's one of the biggest things
02:09Is that when you think about the whole franchise
02:11Kratos has only, even though it's called God of War
02:13He's only confronted Ares, another God of War
02:16Not until now has he had an opportunity to go and fight it out with another God of War
02:22Yes, a completely different context, right?
02:24Whereas with Ares was about a completely different thing, revenge
02:27Now this is more about personal growth
02:30And challenging himself
02:31To master himself
02:32To get him to the next step in his life
02:34Which is a super exciting way to reframe
02:37This epic battle with another God of War, right?
02:39That was distinct
02:40But at the same time brings it full circle
02:44Every time you beat him, right?
02:46And you press R3, you kind of go up
02:48And you got that moment where the punch gets caught
02:51And then they get to do the arm shake again
02:54That was completely intentional
02:55We wanted to do the reverse of what happened in Ragnarok
02:58Where, you know, Tyr is helping Kratos up
03:00Now Kratos is the one helping Tyr up
03:02Tyr was definitely a lot of fun to bring to life
03:06And hopefully all of you enjoy fighting him
