A strong cold front will push east on Thursday. Early Thursday, mild to warm conditions are in place across much of the East and Southeast. By Thursday evening, warmer air surges northward ahead of the front, with widespread 70s and 80s expanding into the Mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley.

By early Friday, colder air begins spilling south and east behind the front, replacing the warmth with noticeably cooler conditions. By Friday evening, much of the Northeast and Midwest has transitioned into colder air, with temperatures dropping into the 30s and 40s in some areas.
