Kübra Karaaslan, a Turkish TikTok star, died on March 23. She was 21.
Karaaslan — who had a sizable following on social media and was known for sharing lifestyle content — jumped off of the Osman Gazi Bridge, a suspension bridge near Gebze, Turkey, reported local outlets NTV and Daily Sabah. Bystanders allegedly recorded footage of the moment, which was shared across social media.
According to NTV, local authorities rushed to the scene, and the internet personality’s body was transported to a nearby state hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The outlet characterized her death as a suicide. The outlet also reported that Karaaslan had closed her social media accounts — including her TikTok — at some point before her death.
