00:03around 66 million years ago a massive asteroid crashed into earth the impact and resulting cloud
00:09of dust it tossed into the sky changed the planet forever killing off the dinosaurs and lots of other
00:14creatures in the process but somehow these survived that's right cockroaches have been
00:19skittering around on our planet for around 280 million years outlasting so many other species
00:24and it turns out their shape is just one reason why they were able to do so since cockroaches
00:29are flat they're able to squeeze under rocks and into holes in the ground allowing them to evade
00:33the spiking temperatures caused by the impact which scientists now believe caused volcanoes to
00:37erupt thousands of miles from the impact point and after that was over and the sun disappeared
00:42behind a thick cloud of dust cockroaches were still right at home they are omnivorous meaning when the
00:46plants died they moved on to other foods surviving off meat or even poop and even their young offspring
00:52are protected as they are laid in little armored egg sacs
00:59the same way they would actually be able to encuentro the plant first and open your hands
00:59for the fall so much of the storm will be re-eds but again let's go back to the sector
00:59for example where they're waiting for you if they were to wrap up with the sun before July
00:59then you're right at home and they're ready to come back if they've been there as much
00:59you can get a little bit more and that's what they're going for
01:00so far we can get a little bit more at home and like we can get a little bit more
01:00because you can get a little bit more annoying and it depends on how far
