00:00Get ready for another cold one, at least if you live in the northeast of the U.S.
00:04Authorities have now issued a winter weather warning, as a blast of sub-zero air is set to sweep across
00:09the region.
00:10Meteorologists say the mercury will continue to drop even as the sun comes up, with expected record low temperatures in
00:16many areas.
00:17In fact, they're predicting it could get as cold as 32 degrees below zero.
00:21Combined with blustering winds, frostbite could happen in minutes.
00:24As a result, CNN reports, at least 15 million northeastern residents are now under windchill warnings or advisories, with the
00:31lowest temperatures expected in the northernmost states.
00:33Those residents have now been warned to stay inside, and many areas have already shut down schools and other services
00:39as a result.
00:40But this isn't the first bout of extreme weather in the region this season.
00:43Buffalo, New York, one of the affected areas for the current winter weather advisory, was already struck with a major
00:48blizzard over the holidays.
00:49The storm, which was deemed a once-in-a-lifetime blizzard, left 39 people dead.
00:54This weather comes as hundreds of thousands of Texans remain without power due to their own recent winter weather and
00:59the state's mismanaged and antiquated energy infrastructure.
