00:01It's a bittersweet moment because we're back with our last announced superhero deep dive for Marvel's Midnight Suns.
00:08As always, thanks to Marvel and 2K for working with me on this series. It's been an absolute pleasure.
00:14We've got something special brewing for this deep dive. We're planning on blowing you away.
00:19It's going to be a shocking affair. Get it? The storm puns? Yeah, you get it.
00:25Everyone, welcome to the superhero deep dive on Aurora Monroe, a.k.a. Storm.
00:33Now, Storm is unique in a few ways. She's one of the first heroes that will be able to reliably
00:38land stuns once her passive is leveled up.
00:40More on that later. And many of Storm's abilities are going to grow stronger if they're not used right away,
00:46but rather on the next turn after they're drawn.
00:49Hence the name of a new mechanic in Midnight Suns for Storm called Next Turn.
00:55I know. It's obvious, but it works.
00:59You're going to see this often. If kept in the hand for a full turn, cards marked with the keyword
01:05Next Turn are going to gain powerful new effects.
01:08Now, I can hear your inner thoughts already. Well, that's going to clog up my hand. Yeah, exactly.
01:13You're actually going to want that, though, and I'm going to be demonstrating some specific cards in her kit that
01:19can leverage an overflow of Storm cards in your hand.
01:22Now, let's start with one of her rare attack cards called Arc. On the surface, it's a chain one card.
01:28Not super glamorous.
01:29But here's where next turn makes things really interesting. You hold that card in your hand for one turn before
01:35playing it and you gain an additional two chain attacks.
01:38On upgrade, that chain attack goes to three. So with the smallest amount of patience, you're getting a chain four
01:45attack card.
01:46You bring her with some allies who grant damage boosts and you're going to be laughing all the way back
01:50to the Abbey.
01:51Speaking of the Abbey, Storm brings a unique Abbey upgrade called the Enhanced Threat Room, where you're going to be
01:57able to choose the number of heroes to bring, the difficulty, the enemy type, the mission level, and even any
02:04villain that you may want to practice against.
02:06Between bouts, I'd encourage you to go level up her passive as quickly as possible, because at level one, she
02:11gains the Rising Storm passive, and that's going to grant her attacks and heroics a 10% chance to stun
02:17enemies.
02:18But at level two, things become kind of wild. That stun chance is going to increase by 5% for
02:26each Storm card that's in your hand.
02:28And I want you to keep thinking about this for the rest of the showcase, because we're loading up your
02:32hand with Storm cards.
02:34And remind yourself of that Arc card earlier where she's hitting four targets. You can see where we're going with
02:41this. There will be stuns.
02:44It's really hard for me to choose which of Storm's cards I want to highlight here, because she has so
02:49many strong ones to choose from.
02:52But we're going to look at what I'm saying is a borderline OP skill card. It's her rare Storm Shield
02:58ability.
03:00Storm Shield is going to apply two resist to all allies. That's already incredible.
03:05But, bending the rules slightly of her next turn mechanic, Storm Shield is going to grant resist to Storm for
03:13each turn that it's in your hand.
03:15That's crazy. You know how strong resist is? Yeah, you do, because you've been playing the game. You know how
03:21strong it is.
03:21What's even crazier is that this card can be upgraded to grant a counter to your allies as well.
03:28So, on playing it, you get two resist, one counter for your allies.
03:34And if it's not played, Storm just keeps stacking resist.
03:38Have fun with this one. Play it a lot before it gets nerfed.
03:42Because it could. It's really, really insane.
03:45Now, Storm does have three heroic abilities in her kit.
03:48But we're going to talk about another skill here, because I want you to be considering some combo implications.
03:54Her epic skill card is called Goddess's Blessing. And what a blessing it is.
04:00So, you've drawn a bunch of Storm cards, but you're impatient.
04:03And you want to activate next turn right now.
04:07Okay, heard.
04:08Goddess's Blessing draws one Storm card, then activates the next turn mechanic on all Storm cards in your hand.
04:15I know this generation is all about instant gratification, so Storm's into it. She's got you covered.
04:21On upgrade, you draw two Storm cards before activating next turn.
04:26And you've got even more power in your hand.
04:28You see where this is all going?
04:30Last up, you guessed it, Storm's Legendary Midnight Sun's heroic ability.
04:35This is only costing you three heroism.
04:39Hellstorm is what it's called.
04:41And it's going to have Storm attack a single target with her offense times 1.5 for each Storm card
04:49in your hand.
04:50But that's not all, folks, no.
04:51The next turn ability on this card grants a card draw of two Storm cards.
04:58Three if it's upgraded.
04:59And as you can guess, Hellstorm pairs very nicely with Goddess's Blessing to draw a bunch of Storm cards.
05:07You play Hellstorm for a massive damage boost.
05:11And many of the cards that are left in your hand have next turn triggered already.
05:18That's insane.
05:20And that's Storm, everybody.
05:21Not all of Storm.
05:23That's a very healthy part of Storm's kit.
05:26And that's the last superhero showcase for the announced Midnight Suns Heroes.
05:30I gotta say, it's been an absolute pleasure working with Marvel and 2K on these.
05:34But it's been even more of a pleasure just to see the response from thousands of you guys
05:38as you continue to enjoy Marvel's Midnight Suns.
05:42And you've been rallying around these showcases for the past several months.
05:45So thank you for that.
05:46My name again is Chris Farad.
05:48Maybe this is the last time you hear from me.
05:50But maybe not.
05:51Thanks to everyone who's been watching this series.
05:54And we'll see ya, when we see ya.
