00:06Melbourne's Albert Park is a familiar home circuit for Oscar Piastri but the Australian
00:11will no doubt be holding his breath until qualifying for a more accurate picture of
00:15whether he has a chance in 2026. I think it's going to be very different for us all and I
00:23think it gives you a lot of opportunities or certainly more opportunities to make a difference
00:29as a driver especially at the start of the the rule set so yeah I'm looking forward to being able
00:35to try and use that though. Piastri was a serious title contender last year with seven wins that put
00:44him on top of the driver's standings for 189 days from Saudi Arabia to Mexico but while he'll have
00:52learned from mistakes that cost him the title a repeat is far from guaranteed given the seismic
00:58technical regulation changes. Piastri claimed the third fastest time overall in the second week of
01:07Bahrain testing almost nine tenths behind the leading Ferrari of Charles Leclerc but on one
01:13one step harder Pirelli C3s. And while the top teams Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren and Red Bull are close
01:22performance is expected to seesaw. From a driving perspective there's going to be a lot of changes
01:29I think in terms of managing the power unit and the battery that's going to be an element that we've
01:35not
01:36had to pay so much attention to before so that's going to be the biggest difference and how we have
01:42to change our driving to adapt to that is probably the biggest biggest change. Piastri has also made
01:49changes within his own camp with Mark Webber focusing on the commercial side Pedro Martos his 2021 F2 title
02:01winning race engineer coming in from Prema along with mental coach Emma Murray to up his game there
02:11all of which means Piastri will be ready if he has the equipment under him to be able to deliver
