An ex-Territorial Army corporal has been convicted of the manslaughter of his girlfriend’s young son after texting her to say “slap him back to sleep, lol”.Scott O’Connor, 36, battered two-year-old Kol Page in the early hours of Sunday April, 24 2022 at their home in Downham Way, Bromley.A jury found the boy’s mother, Zoe Coutts, 35 - who met O’Connor on the dating app Bumble - guilty of causing or allowing his death. When arrested O’Connor said in interview Kol’s horrific injuries were self-inflicted. He told police that the toddler was “very clumsy” and had fallen out of his cot and onto his toy bricks, adding: “What’s happened (is) ’cause of the way Kol is and stuff. “He’s just – he’s always hurting himself and – he’s very clumsy – that’s, that’s what I think happened.”Coutts is seen in footage crying crocodile tears and initially told paramedics Kol fell out of a highchair, but changed her account when police arrived.
