00:00I said yesterday, Keefe, I don't mind him going to Providence.
00:05McAvoy went to Providence.
00:06Krug went to Providence, meaning the Providence Bruins.
00:09I didn't recall Pasternak spending as much time there as he did.
00:12We were looking that up.
00:13He was there way longer than I remembered.
00:15And he kind of ping-ponged around a little bit, I think, up and down, up and down.
00:19But all those guys went there for some seasoning.
00:21My stance yesterday was, well, if Higgins is going to be here by the weekend
00:25or middle of next week, two, three games in Providence,
00:29four games, I think, is what McAvoy spent there,
00:31to tune up and make the jump from Hockey East to the NHL,
00:35I'm not going to stamp my feet about it.
00:37I still think it's probably the right move,
00:39and I'm not telling you I have a big issue with it,
00:41but it doesn't look as good when he's going to Providence
00:45and you lay the wet-steaming dump you laid last night.
00:48It doesn't look as good.
00:49Yeah, but it's also tough to be like,
00:50all right, this guy's going to come in and save the season.
00:52That's not what you're saying,
00:53but I just feel like I would like him up with the big club.
00:56Any kind of extra juice you can add to this playoff run,
01:01or at least by run, I mean like the regular season to get into the playoffs.
01:05And then from there, we shall see.
01:07But he could be a pretty interesting shot in the arm for this team.
01:12We had Bridget on the show from the skate pod yesterday.
01:14She was down in Providence and talking about where he might fit in.
01:19And even if he's a long-term center, maybe on this team, he plays wing.
01:23Maybe you put him on a third line and just like a little bit of a spark,
01:26something that you don't really have right now.
01:28I think he'd be great.
01:30Now it's worked in the past and you can go back and think of, you know,
01:33how we all viewed Charlie McAvoy at the time.
01:35Then kind of what his pedigree was, where he was drafted,
01:38where Higgins was drafted, Krug, all these different guys.
01:41But even if he played a few games in Providence,
01:43and then you didn't even call him up till, let's say, April,
01:47he gets seven games in.
01:49And at that point, you're not going to have clinched,
01:52but you're not going to be way out of it.
01:53No matter what happens over the next few games, just the way hockey is,
01:56you're going to be right there either clinging to a playoff spot
01:59or you're going to be like a point out.
02:01And then if you add him after he's played a handful of pro games,
02:04I'd still be okay with that.
02:06I don't think there's any, like, the history of hockey has shown
02:08there's a lot of guys that just go, their college season ends, boom,
02:11go play pro hockey and then go play in the playoffs, like, that quick.
02:14So I'm okay with that.
