00:59Another sanctioned individual was Graham Phillips, a former clerk for the now defunct UK Central
01:04Office of Information. He began his career spreading information about Russia and Ukraine by writing a
01:10blog titled Brits in Ukraine. A decade later, he became a pro-Kremlin YouTuber, filming from the
01:16front lines of Russian-occupied territories. The London Metropolitan Police is investigating him
01:21for war crimes over allegations he mistreated captured prisoner of war Aidan Aslan in an interview.
01:26Ernst Macavisius, who was born in Lithuania but has lived in Russia for decades, was also
01:32sanctioned. Macavisius has worked for Russian state-owned television since 1991, hosting various
01:38programs. In practice, these sanctions mean that these individuals' assets will be frozen.
01:43EU citizens and companies are also banned from providing them with financial assistance.
