00:14We've talked a lot about the sort of in-depth features of SEGA Rally
00:17And really what I want to do now is sort of talk about the specific game modes
00:20The other modes that we've got in the game
00:22So from the sort of start of the game
00:25If I go into the menu system here
00:27We've tried to keep this all very clean, very simple
00:31We've used some nice sort of photographic type images that you can sort of pick between
00:37So if I just walk through the different modes that we've got
00:39I guess the key single player mode is this championship mode
00:43So if I just step into here
00:45The first thing you've got is a choice of which group, which category of cars you're going to pick
00:52The Premier Car Championship, which is the four-wheel drive cars, is unlocked
00:57The modified two-wheel drive and classic championships are still locked
01:01So you need extra points to unlock those particular classes
01:07So if I go into the Premier Championship itself
01:09It consists of a whole number of different leagues
01:12And again, some of them are locked up
01:14You start off with amateur and work through professional, expert and through to a final
01:18But you need to score points in other races before you can unlock these
01:22So the amateur league is the only one that's available now
01:25And that consists of a number of different events that you can race in
01:28It sort of shows you your points total that you've accumulated so far
01:34And then you've got the actual events themselves
01:36So the eight-to-day challenge here consists of three different races
01:40One from Safari, one from Canyon and one from Alpine
01:43And your scores from those races, from the positions that you come in
01:47Will be totalled and will effectively appear here
01:49And you've got a number of different events
01:51There's a Blue Star Rally
01:52There's a Clubman Stages event
01:54And basically your points from all those are totalled up
01:58And basically the championship mode
01:59Accumulating points in the championship mode
02:01It's going to unlock new cars
02:03Unlock different tracks within the game
02:07And unlock new car libraries, new features as you play through
02:12So that's the single player championship mode
02:15If I step back to the main menu here
02:18Now Quick Race is pretty much what we've been demoing in all the videos we've run to date
02:24Basically the first thing you get in Quick Race is you get an environment selection
02:28So you can pick which environment you want to race
02:30If I pick the Arctic environment
02:34You've got a number of different tracks within that environment that you can select from
02:38And it's giving you some information about the location and the time of day
02:43And the difficulty settings
02:44As well as the sort of surface split
02:47And again you'll see there are locked environments here that you need to unlock later on
02:51Through the championship mode
02:55So if we select Arctic 1
02:57You then down to car selection
02:59You pick your category of cars
03:01Again from Premier Cars
03:02Modified through to the Master
03:04The classic cars
03:05So if we select those
03:07You've again got a choice of classic cars you can pick
03:10So we've got the Celica and the Lancia from the original Sega Rally
03:14And then we've got a Ford Escort Cosworth
03:16An Audi Quattro
03:18Peugeot 205
03:19And a Lancia Stratos
03:21So you can pick any of those cars
03:22And again we've got classic cars that are locked
03:25That you need to score points in the Masters Championship
03:27And you'll be able to play those later
03:30So if I pick one of my favourites
03:31If I pick the Escort Cosworth
03:34You've then got a choice of setup
03:37We've basically simplified this down to two basic setups
03:40You've got an off-road setup
03:41Which is going to give you more grip and traction on the real sort of loose on the deforming surfaces
03:47And then you've got a road setup which is going to work much better on tarmac
03:50And much better on the harder packed surfaces in the game
03:54So we're on snow, it's an arctic environment
03:56So I'm going to pick the off-road setup
03:59And then finally you've got a choice of liveries
04:01And again the liveries are locked
04:02You unlock those in the Championship mode
04:04I'll select the default livery here
04:13Okay, so the key thing we've tried to do with the AI
04:15Is try to really make it as human as possible
04:17They're all competing against each other
04:20They're trying desperately to sort of get to the front of the pack
04:22So you'll see them having little battles and fights between themselves
04:27They'll certainly get very, very competitive with you
04:30When you sort of catch them up and get with them
04:34And they'll be trying very hard to overtake you
04:36And trying quite hard to sort of stick to their lines around corners
04:41They're going to take full advantage of the deformation
04:43They're going to do everything they can to sort of use the deformed line
04:46This faster deformed groove that's going to form in the track
04:50This sort of uphill section here
04:52You can start to see these lines forming in the snow
04:56So basically they're going to adapt as you carry on racing
04:59As the race progresses, as the track changes
05:02These cars are going to adapt to the changing environment
05:05They're going to adapt to what's happening with cars in front of them
05:09They're going to adapt with you when you start to get near them
05:12They're going to change their behaviour
05:13Because they're going to want to make sure that they beat you
05:16And the moment you make a mistake
05:17If you trip up on any corner
05:19These guys are going to sneak past and shoot off into the distance
05:32Okay, so this is going to show you the online component of the game
05:36And basically we've got these pods set up in the studio
05:39They're obviously all connected to consoles, all online with steering wheels
05:44And basically this is how we test the online version in the game
05:46This is obviously a lot of fun for us to play and us to try out
05:49This is exactly the same as the online game you're going to play at home
05:52Obviously we just test it in the studio using this sort of set up
05:56It seems to work pretty well
05:58So, okay, we'll start again now and you can see what it looks like
