00:02Shadow of the Tomb Raider developer Eidos Montreal
00:04ha lavorato per anni per portare Laura Croft's latest adventure in vita
00:09ma la storia è da l'ultima.
00:11Join us as we go behind the scenes at Eidos Montreal
00:15for a closer look at the making of the DLC.
00:26Hi everyone, my name is Jonathan Nau.
00:27I'm the associate producer on Shadow of the Tomb Raider
00:29and I want to take you backstage to the production of the DLCs
00:32because we want to give you something very special
00:34and we're working on very exciting stuff.
00:37So here we have one of our concept artists, Mikhail Veraf.
00:40He's working on one of the outfits.
00:42Basically, we're going to bring some of the fantasies of the characters
00:44and the factions that you meet in the game.
00:46In some cases, it's going to be around hunting,
00:48some cases around mimicking what Trinity, the enemy, is doing.
00:52Those thematics will be linked with the narratives of the side missions and the tombs.
00:56So everything is linked together, every DLC is a big new narrative that you get to explore.
01:00We are adding stuff to the main game
01:02and we're pushing the consoles to, you know, pretty much their limits.
01:07So adding anything in terms of memory, in terms of the game's performance,
01:13it's really a challenge and we have to pull some magic tricks to do it.
01:19More tombs, more tombs, and more tombs.
01:23We always are listening to the fans in the community
01:26and what we learn is that they want more tombs, they wanted more tombs.
01:31So we decided to bring more and add a new twist to it.
01:34The last month of a project is all about the very little details,
01:39adding polish, being back to a more conceptual, creative phase.
01:46It's really exciting for them.
01:47It makes them even come with crazy designs and weird ideas.
01:51They're almost like a revived energy.
01:53They get to tackle new content and new mechanics.
01:56So it's really exciting to see that the team kind of motivates themselves
01:59because we're giving them, like, a whole new arena in which to play.
02:06The city of Montreal is home to countless game studios
02:09and has seen the rise of many AAA franchises.
02:12What is it about the city that gives rise to such talented developers?
02:16Most of all, we are storytellers.
02:19It's in the core of a lot of studios in Montreal.
02:22I know it's in the DNA of Eidos Montreal, that's for sure.
02:25We love mixing carefully crafted action and meaningful stories.
02:30We listen to the players and we listen also to our own feedback.
02:33And I feel that's giving Shadow of Tomb Raider a different flavor
02:36that's really specific to Montreal than Eidos.
02:42With the main game available now and the DLC starting to roll out,
02:46how does the team look back on their time crafting Lara's latest adventure?
02:52We've all been working on that game for a few years now.
02:55I've been working also on Rise before that, so it's really a part of my life.
02:59I feel like it's a tremendous privilege to work on such a high-profile franchise.
03:03At first, when I started on the franchise, it was pretty intimidating.
03:07You know, it has to be perfect and the emotional pace going with that has to be too.
03:11It's always a bit bittersweet, you know, the end of a project, the end of a game.
03:16With the team, you become family, you spend so much time together,
03:21all focused on achieving the same goal.
03:24And there's this day where you know the game's going to be out there
03:27and it doesn't belong to you anymore.
03:29It doesn't belong to us, it's going to belong to the players.
03:32It's like sending your child into the world or something.
03:35So yeah, it's exciting.
03:37It's a huge responsibility and we really hope that people will enjoy Shadow of Tomb Raider and the DLCs.
03:46It's going to be great for him.
03:49It's going to have a great time.
03:58This time is really這一 day and this time we're going away.
03:58We're going to have to take a look around it.
03:58Grazie.
