Il nuovo gioco di Riddick in sviluppo presso Starbreeze per PC, PS3 e Xbox 360, pubblicato da Atari. The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena contiene anche una ri-edizione modificata dell'originale Escape from Butcher Bay.

00:15But most just flail around in the blackness
00:18For me, the darkness is where I shine
00:25When we make games, we want to make a story that attaches the player to the game
00:30That's part of our design philosophy
00:32So no drone shot for this one
00:35We see Dark Athena as the next chapter in the saga about Riddick
00:39The Aguarian system, full of desperate suckers who couldn't make it anywhere else
00:45The Dark Athena is a mercenary ship, captained by Captain Rebus
00:49I remember you
00:51And Riddick is captured by this ship straight after Butcher Bay
00:54Now he's all alone there on the ship
00:55Trying to find a way to get out of the ship
00:58Because he's caught again
01:00The first enemy who decided to add to Dark Athena was the merc
01:07They roam the universe and look for criminals to sell to prisons
01:13But the most significant enemy in the game is the drone
01:16This is what Dark Athena is manufacturing
01:19They're creating these creatures out of captives
01:24This character gives us a lot of different ways of adding gameplay mechanics
01:28Because it's basically a cyborg that operates on an AI which is very stupid
01:33But it can also be controlled
01:37So when they're controlled by mercs they look turned on with white lights
01:42They fight a lot better
01:45When they're in AI control mode they get red lights, stupid
01:48They're not very attentive, you can pretty easily take them out
01:53It has his gun attached to its right arm
01:56So we prevent Riddick from getting its gun and instead has to use the character
02:02So he lifts up the drone and uses the gun attached but with very limited mobility
02:07During some parts of the game you can actually get in and enter Ghost drone
02:11And use that as he progresses through the game
02:15And you can also drag the body to a drone and throw the body to certain locations and then fire
02:20the gun from that location
02:21You can also use the drone as a human shield
02:24What this does, it's not just to prevent the player from retrieving a weapon
02:29It's also that more variations of gameplay in the stealth and the close combat areas that we have in the

02:34So that we actually can get some action in those areas as well
02:39We try to make the game behave as though you would behave in real life

02:52And we wanted to give options to the player that would accommodate those desires
02:57And we also wanted character interactions
03:01So if you saw someone, they weren't just a person in the background with no purpose or personality
03:06They were a character that you could interact with

03:11It's not bound by arbitrary rules
03:16It provides so much variation in gameplay as well
03:18You can go from one area and you have some adventure, side mission, you go talk to people
03:22And then you are in an intense close combat fight
03:25And then you have to move into another section and you are blasting away with guns
03:29You want the player to experience these ups and downs
03:32And we have surprises around the corner
03:35You won't know what the next level is going to bring you
03:38There are pieces for everyone
03:39If you like action games or stealth games, you're going to love this one
