00:05you wish you would know what lies after life yeah what heaven is like I always said if I
00:14had to die I want to be buried right where there's children I want them next to me I
00:20would feel safer that way I need their spirit to protect me
00:38no wonder they're protecting you from I see them as protection I see them as like angels
01:06Michael Jackson is back in court for what could be the most crucial phase of his trial on child
01:11abuse charges a key prosecution witness is expected to testify today we needed to put
01:20Gavin's mother on the witness stand Jen was intelligent not well educated but intelligent
01:28and had a very good memory of events this is someone who is a guest at Michael Jackson's ranch
01:37during the period of time that he engaged in the alleged molestations and they were worried about
01:43her she was capable of blowing a whistle in in a way that could be very harmful for them
01:50Gavin's mother is a key witness and some observers believe the outcome of this trial could hinge on
01:56her testimony throughout the trial I had to give Michael Jackson the benefit of the doubt
02:07that's what a defendant has a right to not guilty until proven guilty but I thought when Janet Arvizo got
02:18on the stand she would be convincing enough to make things look bad for Michael Jackson
02:26I wanted the jury to know that when Janet was in Neverland she was very distrusting of what was going
02:33on they were continuously trying to separate her from the children she told the jury that she's relegated to one
02:42of the
02:42guest cottages on the property her sons are in the house in his room the front door is locked so
02:53her kids are no longer
02:54with her and she doesn't have access to them and you couldn't just walk into his bedroom unannounced
03:01there's a combination lock in the access to the bedroom suite and then you walk down a hallway and the
03:12hallway had chimes in it they were activated by a motion detector so he would hear chimes going off if
03:19somebody was
03:20walking down the hallway do you think Janet knew that her son was being molested I asked her that many
03:27times she
03:29certainly had concerns it reached the point where she knew she just had to get out of there and she
03:35had to get her
03:35the kids out of there but she just wasn't allowed to leave to keep her and the kids on Neverland
03:45they were telling her
03:46there are killers who want to do harm to her children you need to stay here
03:51very quiet and everybody settle thank you Janet told the jury she was compelled to do this video by Michael
03:59Jackson's people
04:00because they knew that the Beshear documentary was a problem for him so they had the whole family
04:06sitting in chairs talking about how wonderful Michael Jackson was but it was a tape that they did deliberately
04:15to be able to use in the contingency of this happening where there was an arrest where there was a
04:22prosecution
04:23my responsibility of a mother is to make sure that my children are in safe safety
04:35they were controlling her and where she went and what she did and who she talked to you know they
04:40were desperate
04:41to keep this under the carpet
04:48the stories by these accusers were extraordinarily convincing
04:52Michael what was it like seeing the bus murder again
04:55I'm sorry I can't come in
04:56I'm sorry I can't come in
05:00Was she kidnapped? Absolutely not
05:04most false fabrication you ever heard in your life
05:10Most of the jurors were really
05:12taken aback by what Janet said on the witness stand
05:16but I think they were not totally convinced that the allegation was true
05:30None of it computed none of it made sense to me
05:34My family's visit to Neverland coincided with the Arvizo family
05:44We said hello to them and we got to know them and their kids seemed like really friendly
05:49Gavin thank God seemed healthy which was a really good thing
05:53and I spoke to his mother and she explained to me the journey they had been on
05:56I felt that they were very happy to be at Neverland
06:00Gavin was completely normal and there was no weirdness with his family
06:05so none of this stuff makes sense
06:13I am subpoenaed by the prosecution to testify about what I saw at Neverland
06:25His name is Rudy Provencio
06:26He reportedly has kept diaries and logs about some of the weirdness and things that he thought wasn't quite right
06:34I was fearful and anxious but I didn't see anything wrong with just telling the truth of what I know
06:42especially when a child might have been violated in some way
06:46It's a person's responsibility
06:51I told the jury I had overheard a conversation that is being told to the mother
06:57that these killers could be out there to get you and you have to be careful you need protection
07:05It was obvious to me that they were worried that the Arvizos were going to talk and make the problem
07:10worse for Michael
07:17One of the witnesses that I remember quite clearly was Rudy Provencio
07:24I totally believed him
07:25I thought he was telling the truth about his feelings about the Arvizos
07:32and that they were being held at the ranch
07:39Rudy was a compelling witness
07:42and not only that
07:43we found a tape
07:45where they recorded the call
07:47and they told her there are killers who are out there who want to do harm
07:52The DA revealed today that he can actually corroborate some of the points she claimed
07:56so a lot of the stories she tells seems to be true
07:59I told Michael
08:00I said Michael if you had done this
08:03it makes you a freakazoid
08:06it makes you horrible
08:09he says I know Brian
08:11Michael said Brian I didn't do those things
08:14never
08:14never
08:15Brian show them it's not true
08:18tell them
08:19tell the world
08:20I told Michael I would overturn every stone
08:23and I did
08:27Michael Jackson's defense team
08:28Michael Jackson's defense team got a hold of every record dealing with the entire family
08:33not just Gavin but everyone
08:37so any job application that their mother had ever applied for they were able to get their hands on it
08:45they had all of his medical records as well
08:55they had the gynecological records of his sister who at the time was 15 years old
09:01there was no piece of paper that they ever generated that they weren't going to get their hands on
09:05there was nothing in their lifetime that they weren't going to know about
09:13the mother was getting welfare from the Los Angeles County Bureau of Welfare
09:21when you apply for welfare you must do a full welfare application
09:27and I sat in my office looking at this going oh my oh my oh my oh my talk about
09:35a gold mine
09:38Michael Jackson's defense team gets its first chance today to cross-examine the mother of the pop star's main accuser
09:43the documents showed repeated continuous falsity
09:49concealing the money that Michael spent taking him to day spas getting a bikini waxed
09:56buying this and paying that and and and luxury dinners they concealed it all
10:02they lied to welfare and you won't believe what they did before
10:08the jury heard she made previous accusations of sexual assault
10:12claiming security guards at this JCPenney store quote
10:16followed them into the mall parking lot and proceeded to beat them
10:19and that a tower records security guard quote
10:22joined the fracas sexually assaulted her
10:25the family had claimed that they were molested by a security guard at JCPenney
10:32the guard just said oh you gotta be kidding
10:35well JCPenney's parted with a hundred and fifty two thousand dollars
10:39and all of this was concealed from welfare
10:43they're just defrauding everybody they can defraud
10:48and when Michael Jackson brought this family into his fold
10:54this was a moment of opportunity that they took to bring down the greatest biggest superstar in the world
11:17the defense was painting the accusers family as grifters as people who went after celebrities for money
11:30what I've learned covering trials is that the best lawyers are good storytellers
11:34and if they tell a story that the jury can picture and absorb and go
11:39uh-huh I get that that is damning
11:50they were trying to show that she was just looking for a payday
11:55I knew it wasn't true
11:58but this was what Michael Jackson would do
12:01discredit the mothers of these children
12:04even as Michael Jackson through the course of the trial was becoming frail and more gaunt and thinner
12:11it looked like the chances of him walking away a free man were increasing
12:16with every disastrous prosecution witness
12:31next month Wade Robson leaves his hometown of Brisbane for Los Angeles
12:35where he'll live with the reclusive millionaire entertainer
12:41what's the thing you most want to do then?
12:44stay with Michael forever
12:45really?
12:47all right
12:48I understood the importance of being able to locate other victims
12:53and of course Wade Robson was at the top of the list
12:56because we knew that he had been involved with Michael Jackson for years
13:02we were absolutely convinced that he was a victim
13:05even though he had not come forward and disclosed it
13:09Wade Robson was a successful choreographer
13:11and Jackson was instrumental in getting his career going
13:18we reached out to him hoping that he would testify
13:22and he said no
13:25there was another young boy from Australia
13:28Brett Barnes
13:29who traveled with him throughout Europe and South America over a year
13:34but he wouldn't testify
13:37Jimmy saved Chuck
13:39Jimmy saved Chuck
13:39we believed he was a victim
13:41but he wouldn't come forward either
13:43so we needed the cooperation of all of them
13:45and we had the cooperation of none of them
13:49but you know I understand
13:52I handled the number of child molest cases over the years
13:55it's a tough thing
13:58for kids to come forward and publicly talk about having been victim of sex crime
14:03and they disclose when they disclose
14:06and there's nothing we can do to speed up that process
14:12we also understood that it's not easy being an accuser of Michael Jackson
14:18it's not easy dealing with his fans
14:20there are multitudes of them and they can be vicious
14:23I was getting death threats on a regular basis
14:29saying I know where you live
14:31I know where your children are
14:32I know your wife's name
14:33I'm going to kill all of them
14:35I mean it was a horrible
14:37Michael! Innocent! Michael! Innocent!
14:40there's an absurdity
14:42and almost like a cult-like following
14:45people who love Michael Jackson
14:47they defended him to the teeth
14:49you know they referred to him more like a god
14:56he trained his fans to be his soldiers
15:00there's no question
15:01his behavior, his idea that he was such a victim
15:05and he needed this protection
15:08his fans bought it
15:10hook, line and sinker
15:12and boy oh boy did they ever come to his defense
15:17do you feel now that the public is fickle?
15:22the loyal ones
15:23that no matter what they're there man
15:25they're thick and thin
15:27they're right there with you
15:29and you feel unconditional love from them
15:31yeah
15:33they have been loyal
15:34they'll fight you about me
15:43it's been a white knuckle ride
15:45but now 43 days after it started
15:47the prosecution has rested its case
15:50it's time now for Michael Jackson to tell his side of the story
15:56the prosecution had said that Wade Robson was molested by Michael Jackson
16:05I had called Wade, he was in Australia
16:10Wade, you've got to come and testify
16:13Brian, I have told everybody it's not true
16:16I wasn't molested
16:18I'm not coming, no I'm not setting foot anywhere near this
16:23I must have called him at least six times
16:26finally he says you're a persistent man
16:28I said yes I am Wade
16:33the first witness for the defense was Wade Robson
16:36it's interesting because Wade Robson has said that he declined and then was subpoenaed by the defense
16:44but when he did take the stand he was a very strong witness
16:49Wade Robson told jurors he first met Jackson at age 5
16:53and shared a bed with him more than 20 times until he was 14
16:58he got up in that courtroom
17:01and he said Michael Jackson never molested me
17:04Michael Jackson never put his hands any place that they weren't supposed to be
17:08Michael Jackson never harmed me
17:10Michael Jackson did not commit child molestation with me
17:17uncanny testimony, fabulous
17:21that was a problem for us
17:22because we were really hammering on the fact that he was a victim
17:26and he's up there saying I'm not
17:29I'm telling you it didn't happen
17:31the second defense witness Brett Varnes said the same thing
17:35adding I can tell you that if he had I wouldn't be here
17:39did they do a good job?
17:42oh my
17:44you betcha
17:51the defense has now presented its witness list
17:54and there are some big Hollywood heavy hitters on there
17:59when this started a lot of people felt that this was an open and shut case
18:04but it became a soap opera as they say
18:08but really a soap opera on steroids
18:14the prosecution was claiming that Michael's employee saw Michael put his hands up Macaulay Culkin's pants and play with his
18:22privates
18:26okay, well what does Mac say?
18:28what does Macaulay Culkin say?
18:31one of the most anticipated witnesses in the Michael Jackson case took the stand today
18:37Macaulay Culkin denied it and to this day denies that he was molested by Michael Jackson
18:41I, you know, I remember cross-examining Macaulay Culkin and
18:46and he's an actor, you know, and so everything has a certain flair to it
18:50his appearance, his fame, his celebrity
18:54he was just an extraordinarily effective witness
18:59we live in a celebrity driven society
19:02and people are really attracted to celebrities
19:07they're mesmerized by them
19:08so that certainly happened at the trial and I'm sure the jury was impacted too
19:17during the trial, Gavin's mind was completely scrambled
19:22and it was heartbreaking
19:26they were just stuck in this apartment for months and months
19:30there was a school
19:31people
19:33out the window
19:35and they just look at the kids going
19:38they just wanted to be in school
19:40this was, this was really tough on everybody
19:47Gavin was by himself in that trial
19:50he was literally by himself
19:53and it made, it was very burdensome for him
19:55it was very challenging
19:57um, but he was courageous
19:59and he never told us
20:01I'm not going to do it
20:02I can't do it
20:03this is just ruining my life
20:05um, but he understood the importance of it
20:08at 15, he understood his obligation to do it
20:15the trial had raised a lot of doubts
20:18in my mind anyway
20:21so I wanted to talk to Gavin
20:24I wanted to, you know, get a chance to, to talk to him myself
20:28you know, obviously all was off the record
20:30and, um, I didn't report it because, you know, I wanted to respect his privacy
20:37he says, you know, um, the world has me all wrong
20:40he says, you know, I enjoyed my time with him
20:42you know, I just, the things he did was wrong
20:47he hurt me
20:48and, I just thought, wow
20:51you know, this kid
20:52is telling me that this grown man
20:54this international icon
20:57heard him
20:59I couldn't help but to believe him
21:01I had, I found no reason not to believe him
21:07Michael, are you happy the case is almost over?
21:09His silence will be maintained
21:12it's now certain that Michael Jackson
21:14won't be taking the witness stand in his own defense
21:20just as it seemed that this case was drawing quietly to an end
21:23there is word of a possible dramatic finale
21:28months before the trial actually started
21:30the police had interviewed Gavin
21:33and I wanted the jury to see it
21:37because I think if you watch that, it's very hard
21:40for somebody to watch that and say, oh yeah, they're making the whole thing up
21:44he said that he wanted to show me how to masturbate
21:47he wanted to show you how to masturbate?
21:50yeah
21:51ok, ok
21:51and then I said no
21:55then he said he'd do it for me
21:57ok
22:00and did he do it for you?
22:07he
22:07he
22:10go ahead, Captain, it's fine
22:12he put his hand in my pants
22:14did he put it on the outside?
22:16inside
22:16inside?
22:17and what did he do next?
22:19he started, he started masturbating
22:22ok
22:24then
22:27I told him I didn't want to do that
22:30did he stop?
22:31I told him I
22:32and he kept on telling me
22:33he said no
22:36if there was a smoking gun in the whole case
22:39that was Gavin's interview with the sheriff's department
22:44I had really been convinced that Gavin was telling the truth
22:50others on the jury saw this as not being the case at all
22:55a lot of people in that courtroom were very moved by that video
22:58and so
22:59I gotta tell you Jim
23:00I gotta tell you
23:01a lot of people were moved by that video
23:03but a lot of people thought the kid was acting
23:07you know, I suppose there's reasonable doubt that he made it up
23:11or he was told by Janet to
23:17tell the sheriff's department that he had been molested
23:20it just didn't come across that way to me
23:25he
23:27absolutely looked believable
23:34Michael's innocent!
23:36Michael's innocent!
23:37After 14 weeks of often lurid testimony
23:40Michael Jackson's trial is now entering its most crucial phase
23:44Michael's innocent!
23:46In Santa Maria, California tonight
23:47it's all in the hands of the jury now
23:50eight women, four men on the Michael Jackson jury
23:53will decide whether or not he is guilty of child molestation
23:58I was worried about the jury
24:01I had complete faith in everything Gavin was saying
24:06and there was never a question in my mind
24:09as to the honesty or accuracy of his statements
24:13never!
24:14but this was an international superstar
24:17one of the most powerful men in the world
24:19and that changes the equation
24:22no matter what humanitarian actions
24:24or no matter what joy and entertainment he brought to the world
24:27if Michael was harming children, he was a monster
24:31but he was not a monster, he didn't do any of those things
24:34there are people here from more than 28 countries reporting on the trial
24:38hotel rooms are booked within a 40 mile radius
24:40special fences and security have been brought in
24:43and the fan contingent continues to grow as well
24:46the fan presence was there from beginning to end
24:49and they were vociferous
24:52those are the hardcore Michael Jackson fans from around the world
24:57innocent! innocent!
25:00Michael had encouraged his family
25:02and by extension his fans to wear white
25:05saying that he was innocent
25:07but I thought at the very least
25:10it's going to be a hung jury
25:11but they'll probably get a conviction
25:13he could face nearly 20 years in prison
25:16if the jury comes back guilty
25:18Jackson will be off to Corcoran State Prison's
25:20protective housing unit
25:21home to among others, convicted murderer Charles Manson
25:26Michael was feeling
25:29frightened
25:30you're the biggest star in the world
25:33you...
25:34you have magic that nobody else has
25:37and you are scared to death
25:40your life is coming to an end
25:43and I said to him, I said Michael, we're going to win
25:47do you understand?
25:48we're going to win
25:49he says, Brian, I'm so scared, I don't think so
25:54transmission, can you hear me?
25:56can anyone hear me?
25:57we're going to stay up here
25:58Edgar, they're on the head
26:00come with me, it's okay
26:03there is breaking news
26:04that the jury in Santa Maria, California
26:07has sent word that it has reached a verdict
26:10they announced that they had a verdict
26:13and it would be presented in the courtroom in two hours
26:19he drove up the freeway from Neverland Ranch
26:22and the convoy of cars and fans behind him
26:27was unbelievable
26:30his motorcade, as you see from this helicopter shot live
26:34left his so-called Neverland Ranch
26:37within the past 30 minutes
26:39in the car, you had Michael in the middle
26:42and Latoya on the right
26:44and she prayed with him
26:47dear Lord, take care of your child, Michael Jackson
26:54he is your servant, Lord
26:57he does your bidding
27:00protect him, defend him
27:02and Michael is stoic
27:05he doesn't say a word
27:13outside the courtroom was a zoo
27:16I've never seen anything like that before
27:26Gavin was not there, it felt like too much to take on
27:32if he's found guilty, it'll be a journey not back to Neverland
27:35but straight to prison
27:54we're in a waiting game now
28:00by the way, we should point out that the local police department has dispatched a number of officers trained to
28:05watch for potential suicide
28:07behavior on the part of some of these fans
28:15Brian, I'm told he is opening each...
28:17he is opening each ballot one at a time
28:20I'm told the room is very silent
28:29but some of them John
28:30Trent Copeland, I'm sorry, we have to interrupt you because we're beginning to hear a little bit of audio coming
28:34from the courtroom
28:38the microphone's on
28:44Superior Court of the State of California
28:46Count one, verdict
28:48Leave the jury in the above entitled case to find the defendant not guilty
28:57Count two, verdict
28:59Not guilty
29:00Not guilty
29:07Not guilty
29:08Count three, verdict
29:09Not guilty of a lewd act upon a minor child
29:15He's been in pain
29:16He's been in pain
29:22He's been in pain
29:24The clerk read it
29:26Not guilty, not guilty, not guilty
29:27Not guilty, not guilty, not guilty
29:31Not guilty, not guilty
29:34Not guilty, not guilty
29:34Not guilty, not guilty
29:35Not guilty, not guilty
29:37I always believed in him
29:38I would not have came here if Michael Jackson was guilty of these crimes
29:42I believed in him and I fought for him
29:44Michael Jackson is now free
29:46This case is over
29:49This is an all out vindication for Michael Jackson and his supporters
29:59Michael got up
30:01Michael got up
30:02Michael got up
30:03Everyone congratulated everyone
30:05Didn't say a word
30:06Turned around and he walked out
30:14There he is, the first look at Michael Jackson
30:18After his acquittal
30:20On all ten counts
30:30Clearly this jury did not buy that these people were telling the truth
30:35There is no doubt about it
30:37The defense said
30:39This family, this mother, wanted to ride the gravy train
30:43Jurors realized that, you know, in the celebrity land of Michael Jackson
30:47People do get accused of things that they haven't done
30:52Your reaction to the news, Stacy?
30:56Well, Brian, I'm stunned
30:58I really thought that there was going to be a couple of convictions there
31:03He's dodged a bullet
31:06I truly felt that Michael Jackson was a child molester
31:11I felt that then and I haven't changed my mind now
31:14But the problem was proving it
31:19And the jury had a hard time believing the Arvizos
31:27We got Gavin on the phone
31:31And Gavin, poor, poor Gavin
31:33I just remembered that voice
31:36And why didn't they believe me?
31:38Why didn't they believe me?
31:53It was over
31:59We would talk about Michael going through the fire
32:03Or the book of Daniel
32:06And I said, Michael, you are being tested by fire, Michael
32:15As it turns out
32:18This trial hurt him
32:21It hurt him badly
32:31He never went back to Neverland
32:38It was spoiled
32:40It was ruined
32:41It was defiled
32:44It was no longer the place of dreams
32:54So I think it was three days after the verdict
32:57Michael got in his limousine
33:01To LAX
33:03To Bahrain
33:07Michael Jackson turned up at a Bahrain shopping mall
33:11Hiding his face behind a veil
33:13And wearing a black robe
33:14Traditionally worn by Middle Eastern women
33:17He became what even his family described as a vagabond
33:22Michael and his kids
33:23Would go from place to place
33:26Anywhere he could find a home
33:29He was lost
33:31Michael was lost
33:32Last night his crown was looking distinctly tarnished
33:36Amid the adulation, the clear sound of booing
33:39Michael!
33:42Michael hated being hated
33:45He disliked being disliked
33:47He took it very personally
33:49He was very fragile in that regard
33:50He was used to being loved
33:53But at that time
33:55He really was
33:59Very unhappy
34:00At how hated he felt
34:06Michael Jackson
34:07Michael Jackson finally came back to Las Vegas
34:11But he was
34:13A broken man
34:16There was tremendous financial problems
34:19And also
34:22It's believed that his drug problems continued to mount
34:28And there were terrible reports I got that Michael was using medications
34:34And the family staged an intervention
34:38Well, no, no, no, I got this under control
34:42I'm not addicted
34:43Whatever, Michael
34:45I tried
34:45I tried too
34:52After the trial
34:54Gavin was a different person
34:55He was very different
34:58He was subdued
35:00I would take him out driving
35:03We would just kind of
35:06Process everything that had gone on
35:09It just was tough
35:11Things were tough
35:13They had all changed their names
35:15To go back to school
35:17But
35:20Some of the Michael Jackson fans
35:22Had discovered
35:23Their aliases
35:25And sort of outed them
35:27On Myspace
35:30He became extremely depressed
35:34It was very, very difficult
35:36For him to picture
35:39A life for himself
35:52Michael believed that if he could perform again
35:56That he would gain strength from his fans
36:03Because his livelihood and his life was the stage
36:13I love you
36:15I love you
36:16I really do
36:17You have to know that
36:18I love you so much
36:21Michael suddenly agrees to do 50 concerts
36:24See you in July
36:2850!
36:29Michael couldn't get out of bed in the morning
36:32He was taking all this crap and all these drugs
36:35And 50
36:36Whoever got him to agree to that
36:39The only thing that was going to do
36:41Was put so much pressure on him
36:42That he would up the drug intake
36:48We were concerned that the phones were being disconnected
36:52Um, Mrs. Jackson had indicated at one point
36:55She hadn't spoken to him in 12 weeks
36:58Every time she tried calling the line was disconnected
37:02Well, that's the same thing that was happening to us
37:05But I don't think anybody really thought it was anything very sinister going on
37:15When people leave my show
37:21When people leave my show
37:22I wasn't saying
37:24I've never seen nothing like this in my life
37:28He's the greatest entertainer in the world
37:35When I heard that
37:37I was shocked
37:39I'm like, that's pure bullshit
37:41Somebody took a video
37:42Somebody took a recording and put it on slow motion
37:46That didn't even sound right
37:55Okay, how old is he?
37:56He's 50 years old, sir
37:59He's unconscious, he's not breathing?
38:01Yes, he's not breathing, sir
38:03Where's he at right now?
38:04He's on the bed, sir
38:05But he's not responding to CPR or anything
38:11I went to the emergency room
38:15And inside the emergency room was the family
38:18I saw Mrs. Jackson, I saw Mr. Jackson
38:22And I was looking through the window
38:26And they're in the background
38:28They're pumping somebody's chest
38:31I said, oh my, oh my
38:38Michael Jackson is dead at the age of 50
39:02What I felt was absolute, infernal rage
39:08You stupid, stupid man
39:12Michael, Michael
39:13What have you done?
39:15You've orphaned your children
39:18I think it took a few hours for the rage to wear off
39:20And then terrible grief set in
39:28Are you afraid of death?
39:31Yes
39:32We all want to see what that other side looks like though, don't we?
39:37Do you think there are children playing in heaven?
39:38Oh God, I pray that that's what it's like
39:42Like Adam and Eve, the way they're describing
39:44Yeah, like Adam and Eve
39:46It's just a happy garden
39:48A perfect, peaceful place
39:51Just a pure innocence
39:53I pray that it's like that
40:02Michael's favorite word was innocence
40:04Because Michael was robbed of that childhood innocence
40:07He said to me, I never had innocence
40:10My life has been a constant effort to reclaim lost innocence
40:16Like a return to Eden, a return to paradise
40:26There is new global backlash tonight following the bombshell documentary, Leaving Neverland
40:32The accusations made by Wade Robson, who's now 36, and James Safechuck, now 41, are quite similar
40:38Both were befriended by Jackson when they were young boys
40:41And both were brought to his Neverland ranch, where they claimed the abuse began
40:46So what are you alleging that he actually did?
40:49He sexually abused me from 7 years old until 14
40:52I've lived in silence and denial for 22 years, and I can't spend another moment in that
41:03I was appalled
41:07I was shocked
41:08Wade Robson told the jury, under penalty of perjury, it didn't happen
41:14And then he does this film and says, oh yeah, it happened
41:17Well, the two don't chime
41:21It tells me that it's false
41:26I have never seen the documentary, but I think these are cases of people coming out and saying horrible things
41:34long after anything is provable
41:37When there's a lot of money at stake
41:40Then Michael Jackson I knew was a really, really sweet, kind-hearted person
41:48I don't know why I get so protective, it doesn't make any sense
41:52Do you think he's innocent?
41:56After everything you've seen, do you still think he's possibly innocent?
42:04The world will say what it will say, and perhaps only God knows the truth
42:10Could I believe that he was a pedophile?
42:16Absolutely, categorically, not
42:20But how do you know?
42:21How do I know that he wasn't a pedophile?
42:24Oh, I don't know
42:26I can only say based on all the evidence, all the trials, and my personal knowledge of him
42:31He was absolutely incapable of harming a child
42:36I remember him putting my hands on his head when he was down there
42:47I'll never forget the feeling of his hair
42:55The way they painted the picture of inappropriate behavior, sexual molestation
43:00It moved me, I just thought, oh my gosh
43:04If you saw that documentary, you have to have some compassion for Wade and James
43:11I think I was just kind of wincing
43:15I was asking him not to do it, but he did it and he said, oh, you'll like it
43:22It was so powerful, so powerful
43:25I was as big a Michael Jackson fan as anyone
43:29But that documentary showed how this man manipulated not just those boys, not just their family
43:43Michael manipulated the entire world
43:53I believe that the outcome could have been different if Jimmy Safechuck and Wade Robson have been able to talk
43:59about what had happened
44:00But I don't blame them
44:03I'm not angry, maybe a little frustrated, but I'm really not angry
44:08I'm glad that they have come forward now
44:10I think it's helpful, it's helpful for Gavin
44:13I think it's helpful for the rest of the country to understand what actually happened
44:21A lot of folks did not want to believe Gavin, they wanted to believe their hero, their idol
44:29We're talking about the king of pop
44:31And we don't want to believe that such a phenomenal talent is dangerous
44:40We just don't want those two things in the same place
44:44It's very difficult
44:48I'll be the first one to tell you because
44:51I love his music, I love what he created
44:55But Gavin, his story has never shifted
45:00And we would know by now
45:02If the reason they had done this was money
45:04There's been no exchange of money in regards to any of this
45:08For the Arvizo family
45:10So maybe we need to ask ourselves
45:13Is that body of work worth the price of James, Wade, Gavin?
45:26Is that a fair price?
45:30Gavin is doing extraordinarily well
45:34I'm just, I'm magnificently proud of him
45:37But he's fought for it
45:40He's fought hard
45:46Yeah, it's hard to talk about
45:48That's a lot of people
45:51It's not enough
45:52But I know that
45:52No one is too not
45:52And that's all
45:57Not enough
46:01If you're waiting for yourself
46:04To be careful with them
46:12Threat might be so
46:12About people
46:16They might have something
46:16They might be in charge
46:17That's enough
