00:13Hey! I'm Tim Letourneau, I'm the executive producer
00:15of MySims, and today I'm going to show you the game.
00:20You start out and create a sim.
00:22It's really easy.
00:23You can change the hairstyle, the eyes,
00:26skin tone,
00:28whatever you want to change,
00:29and you just click right on the sim to do it.
00:31I'm trying to make myself, I've got the hairstyle,
00:33the eyes, get the right mouth,
00:36and now I've got to find,
00:37let's see, a Hawaiian shirt.
00:41Ah, there we go.
00:43One of the cool new features in MySims
00:45is that you can actually change
00:47or pick the voice of your sim.
00:48This is the first time we've ever allowed you to make that customization.
00:54Then you can pitch it up and down as well.
00:57Mm-hmm.
00:58Pretty fun.
01:00Finally, I'm going to give myself some shades.
01:06Put my name in.
01:13Ah, I've got to change the hair color too.
01:18There we go.
01:19Now it's off to explore the town.
01:23So now that I'm in town,
01:24you can see that it's kind of run down.
01:25Well, as a player, what I have to do
01:28is bring this little town back to life.
01:30Now I'm going to jump forward a little bit.
01:32This is a town I've been working on.
01:34And now I'm at the hotel.
01:35This is where new sims will show up
01:37that want to move into town.
01:38I'm going to ask this guy right here
01:40if he wants to move in.
01:41Now this is Goth Boy,
01:43and he actually lives in a haunted house that you get to build.
01:46So I'm asking him to move in,
01:48telling him how great the town is
01:49and why he's going to love it.
01:51And then once I've done that, and he accepts,
01:54I'm able to go and build his house.
01:56So I'm looking for a place to move him in.
02:00Here's an old run down place.
02:02And now I'm building Goth Boy's house.
02:05This is a haunted house.
02:06And this is create a building.
02:09And create a building is where you get to build homes within the game.
02:13All of the blocks you see come with each of the sims.
02:16And as new sims move in, new blocks unlock.
02:19It's very easy.
02:19You just pick the blocks up, move them into the space,
02:22and they snap, snap together.
02:26You can also size the blocks,
02:28make them smaller or larger.
02:33Then you can grab windows and doors,
02:36just pop them right on.
02:40Again, really easy, very fun.
02:42We wanted it to be something that anybody
02:43could pick up and be creative.
02:51You can even paint
02:53all of the blocks, including the windows and doors,
02:55the roof, anything you want to.
02:59Just click right on it,
03:00change the color.
03:03Each building will be unique,
03:04because you build it the way you want it.
03:09Now, Goth Boy was pretty happy about moving in.
03:11It's still a sims game, so I can socialize with the sims.
03:13Of course, I just decided to be kind of mean
03:15and burp in his face.
03:20Now, those things that just dropped are called essences.
03:24And I'm going to explain those more in a bit.
03:28to go inside,
03:29you can see that every sim that moves in
03:31has an interior that you get to help build.
03:34This is the haunted house.
03:36One of my favorite objects
03:37is the pipe organ.
03:40What's amazing about all of these objects,
03:43all of these pieces of furniture,
03:44is they're built by the player,
03:46which you'll see in a bit.
03:48Now, this is another great location.
03:50This is Vic Vector's Arcade.
03:52Everyone that moves in has things
03:53that they need you to do for them.
03:55So I'm talking to Vic here.
03:56And Vic is saying,
03:58Hey, it would be great if you could help me out
04:00by building me another arcade game.
04:03I need another one in my place.
04:05And I'd like you to use 12 video game essences.
04:09Essences are like your creative palette.
04:11They're what you use to color everything that you build.
04:14And you can collect them from anywhere.
04:16You can collect them from just up the ground.
04:21Or you can grab trees and shake them
04:23to knock, say, the apples off.
04:29Or one of my personal favorites,
04:30I can just chop down this tree.
04:34That way not only do I get apples,
04:36but I also get wood essence as well.
04:38As you move through the game, you gain star levels,
04:41that you can see up in the right hand corner.
04:43And those give you tools that allow you to unlock
04:45new areas.
04:46In this case, I've gone into a nook.
04:48And in the nook I can prospect,
04:50which is another way to get essences.
04:52And here I've gotten some video game essences,
04:54which I'll use to build the arcade game.
04:56I can also use objects,
04:58like here I'm playing this arcade game,
05:00and by winning, I get some video game essences.
05:04I can always look in my backpack to see what I have.
05:10And this shows me all the essences I've collected.
05:14I now have 12 video games,
05:16so that's enough to start building the arcade game for Vic.
05:19I'm going to run back to my workshop,
05:21and this is where I build everything that the town people ask me to.
05:26In the workshop, you just pick up blocks and snap them together.
05:30It's really easy and really fun.
05:32We give you blueprints to help you know exactly how to build things,
05:36but you can always attach blocks wherever you want.
05:39They just snap right in place,
05:40so you don't always have to follow the rules.
05:43Just like a coloring book, you can color outside the lines if you want to.
05:46Now once you build something out of blocks,
05:48you're then able to paint it using the essences.
05:51So here I pick the video game essence,
05:53and I just click, just like when I was creating the building,
05:55just click right on the blocks to change their color.
05:57Each essence has four different colors.
06:00I can also use the essences as blocks,
06:04and attach them as well.
06:06So you can come up with some really incredible creations,
06:10using a combination of colors and blocks.
06:14And then when I'm all done,
06:16I just run back to Vix,
06:18and I can put the video game down in his place.
06:20As you can see, there are a variety of video games,
06:23and they're all built off that same basic template,
06:25but built with a lot of creativity.
06:28Which is a good segue back to my house.
06:30As I go inside,
06:31I want to show you some other things that I built.
06:34Now it looks like some weird things to have in your living room,
06:36but what I wanted to highlight here
06:38was that these are all chairs.
06:40They're built by taking the blocks that are available in the workshop,
06:43putting those together with the essences you collect,
06:45painting, adding your creativity,
06:47and you can build virtually anything you want.
06:49And that's the magic of MySims.
06:54That's just a little taste of MySims for the Nintendo Wii.
06:57It's also coming out for the Nintendo DS,
06:58and those will both be out this fall.
