00:058 rounds in the super middleweight division and it's the 7-0, 7 KOs, Taylor Bevan, former amateur star as
00:12I say, in with Argentina's Martin Valacio, does have 10 KOs from his 15 wins, but he's in deep here,
00:23Barry, with the sharp shooting, heavy hitting Taylor Bevan.
00:26Yeah, the only one, he doesn't look and shape, is he, Taylor Bevan? I've never seen ab muscles as big
00:31as that. I've never seen him, he's not really from Canada, if you've got too many horses.
00:37Such an intelligent young man, in and out of the ring, lovely jab that he sets everything up with, you
00:44mentioned the Commonwealth Games there, what fight he had with Aaron Bowen, fighting the tournament for sure, lost in the
00:50final to John Lazarisi from Scotland, but he's developed so well under the
00:56watchful eye, as you say, Colin Jones, really impressive.
01:00He was a massive puncher, one of the biggest punchers in British boxing, Colin Jones, so you'll know how to
01:05develop that, but also good boxing as well, a former Olympian himself, Colin, at 17 years of age, by the
01:11way.
01:12Yeah, he stopped Mickie Ellison in December, last year, did Taylor Bevan.
01:19You just need someone who can take the shots, then who can take the power, that's a note, and how
01:22he reacts to that.
01:23You've got a couple of guys who look like that, but then he wears him down, and it's intelligence.
01:29From Bellascio, as I said, has that 10 KOs, the ship's a right hand, though, from Bevan back.
01:36Yeah, I think that was a bit of a gauger for Bevan.
01:39Mickie Ellison doesn't get stopped often, and showed how powerful he is, recognised behind the jab.
01:46Been caught a couple of times here, sorry, Bevan from Bellascio, but...
01:50He's a bit of an aggressive fighter, I think that's part of the course, you're going to take shots, you're
01:54going to have to.
01:57I mean, you think, oh, Bevan should move his head more, maybe, but the way he's engineered to throw his
02:02shots,
02:03he always needs to be square-shouldered, the way he turns into the punches.
02:06He's not really like a rolling sort of fighter, but he can dip a little bit more to the left
02:11and the right, I don't think.
02:12Blasted on the scene, didn't he, when he destroyed Greg O'Neill in his debut,
02:17jogging twice in the second round.
02:20He rated the performance 8 out of 10.
02:24Very intrigued to know what a 10 out of 10 will look like.
02:27There's not one shot he throws without any weight.
02:30There's no flicky jabs.
02:33But he's almost using that flicky jab, isn't he, to try and draw Bellascio in.
02:40Subtle feints as well, sharp jab, gum filled out.
02:43The jab knocked out.
02:45He didn't even step behind the jab, he just turned his shoulder into it,
02:48almost like it's like a jarring, it's not a jab, it's a ramrod left hand.
02:51It really is.
02:52That's what it is.
02:52I think a lot of people neglect that side of the jab.
02:55You think, you know, it is a range finder, there's always variation, it sets up shots,
02:59but you throw a jab properly and you step in with it, like Taylor Bevan does, it's a hurtful blow.
03:04And that's my issue with the stats, they don't have a jab as a power shot, I believe, if I'm
03:13wrong, I apologise.
03:14So then, you can't tell me that some of the jabs are he throws in a power jabs or Ghanadi
03:19Golovkin,
03:19every jab he throws is a power shot.
03:23Do you have his work cut out as far as trying to get this inside the distance?
03:28You can see Bellascio already, he picks his moments, he keeps his hands high.
03:33There's some intelligence about him, certainly when it comes to looking after himself.
03:38I don't even stop four times from his ten defeats.
03:43But with Bevan, you've got to stay safe all the time.
03:46So, I mean, you almost can't switch off, and it's that mental side that tires you out,
03:51because you always have to be stretched on with him, because every shot he throws,
03:54as you see, there's a hurtful shot wherever it lands.
03:57And so, that tires him out, so you're aware of fighters down in five rounds, six rounds,
04:03and then when they start to wane a little bit, if you can keep that sharpness,
04:07and he obviously is incredibly fit,
04:10then there's gaps up here, and then you'll see the shots coming,
04:13and that's what's going to be the downfall for most of his opponents.
04:16Someone who did stop Martin Bellascio was Kevin Lee Sadio.
04:20You might remember him, he stops Jack Cullen,
04:23lost recently to Diego Pacheco, on point.
04:28Heavy hitting Kevin Lee Sadio.
04:31So, can Taylor Bevan follow suit?
04:36Doesn't need to rush anything here, boxing nicely.
04:45Speaking to manager Brian Peters a couple of days ago,
04:50when he said this would be his last eight-rounder,
04:53wants to step up to ten rounds,
04:55and not far at all now from a potential English title shot,
04:59or something meaningful.
05:01First title looming, a first title shot.
05:04But anyway, nice lead left uppercut from Taylor Bevan.
05:08He was recently commentating on Ryan Garner,
05:10who potential talks of a fight in Southampton,
05:14said berries, and I'm sure Taylor Bevan would love to
05:16have some involvement in that show if it does happen.
05:20So opportunities in the glamorous division.
05:22I was going to fight for the English title,
05:25when he's Welsh.
05:27Huh?
05:27I was going to fight for the English title,
05:28when he's Welsh.
05:29Good point.
05:32You really got my back at that, dude.
05:34How dare you.
05:36British Boxing Board of Control license.
05:38Hold up.
05:42Again, look at the base,
05:43look at the solid fundamentals
05:44that's shown from Bevan.
05:46And he gets a sniff, as we see there.
05:48Really goes through the gear.
05:49Look at the face already of Banasho,
05:51the nose busted.
05:52Would be surprised if that's broken.
05:55None of these shots are like shots
05:56that are going to just pee you to sleep,
05:57but every shot's so jarring and heavy.
06:01It puts a panic on everybody.
06:04Even guys who are durable like this.
06:05They're not guys who are going to beat you, of course,
06:08but the guys who are here,
06:09they brought you to make you work.
06:11You just feel it at any moment.
06:13I'm worried about looking down at my notes,
06:14because you just feel he could land that shot
06:17at any moment.
06:19Nice composure.
06:20Those uppercuts are really stunning, Bellasio.
06:24Look at Bellasio.
06:24Every time Bellasio throws a shot from Bevan,
06:27look at the left.
06:28Yeah, and he drops to the body.
06:30But every time Bellasio throws a shot,
06:31Bevan makes him pee.
06:32He does.
06:33Even if he lands and he fights to move back.
06:36There's just no respite, is there,
06:37for Bellasio at all.
06:39If he attacks...
06:40Oh, left to the body.
06:41He's hurt that one.
06:42There's that delayed reaction.
06:43That was a stunning left to the body for Bellasio.
06:47Yes, right under the right elbow of Bellasio.
06:50What a shot, Barry.
06:51He took his right side.
06:52Oh, that's it.
06:53It's another KO for young Taylor Bevan.
06:57Eight fights, eight wins, eight inside the distance.
07:00His last eighth round are stepping up to 10 potentially next time.
07:04This man is not just close to fighting for titles.
07:09He's very close to winning them.
07:10Yeah, and do you know what?
07:12If you slow that down,
07:13his right shoulder goes over his left knee
07:16to get the angle to throw up.
07:18Because then you've got to come back at it.
07:19He didn't just throw the left hook, like, around.
07:21You've got the angle there.
07:23So, literally, he lifted that diaphragm right up.
07:25It really...
07:26Look at that.
07:27Pfft.
07:27Turn...
07:27The rotation there is fantastic.
07:30I mean, you can't defend against that
07:31because you shouldn't be throwing that shot
07:33in that sort of range.
07:35You shouldn't be, wouldn't you?
07:36That is fantastic.
07:37It really is.
07:38Look at that.
07:39The uppercats were working the street, wouldn't they?
07:40But look at this.
07:43Snips.
07:44The shoulder is almost over the front knee
07:47to get the full turn into the shot.
07:50And with that, because it dips your right shoulder low,
07:53it makes that shot come up through the middle.
07:55The upper stand in there, Barry, as well.
07:57You know, he did stun Balazsha
07:59and the face was bloody of the Argentinian,
08:02but he knew that he'd have that success,
08:04potentially get the stoppage by dropping to the body.
08:06Look at what happened.
08:07I know some body shots.
08:08I know we've both been hit by body shots.
08:10Look, some tap you, and some dig in.
08:14And those dig in ones, I mean,
08:15the tap you ones take the window to you,
08:18but those dig in ones, like, they are horrible.
08:20When they're placed right.
08:21You just want to see, like, I want another show now,
08:23so I can see Taylor Bevan fight again.
08:25That's incredible.
08:26Eight and over, looking very good.
08:28Let's throw over to Ben for the decision.
08:34Ladies and gentlemen, referee Amy Pugh,
08:37call her heart to the contest.
08:38Two minutes and 16 seconds into round number two.
08:43Here's your winner, by knockout, Taylor Bevan.
08:49Fantastic victory there.
08:51You know, as I say, all inside the distance.
08:54What star, what future he has in front of him.
08:56You know what, Dad?
08:56In Wales, for every, like, fisted belly, Jones,
08:59there's a big punch in Taylor Bevan.
09:01To be continued.
