00:31was to create a new adventure for Lara
00:33in this case a medieval dungeon for her to explore
00:36we wanted to have each area have its own unique feel
00:40it's really inspired by medieval, spooky, scary kind of horror vibe
00:45we actually did a lot of reference research
00:48looking at torture devices
00:50to me the thought that there's this large labyrinth beneath the house
00:57is unsettling if it was under my house I would move
01:03I think what people are going to like most in Beneath the Ashes
01:05other than it looks great is the new puzzles
01:09the new puzzles are some of the most involved puzzles we have
01:11it really takes everything Lara has and puts it to use
01:15we really wanted to take some of the systems from Tomb Raider Underworld
01:19like the grapple and really expand upon what you could do with it
01:22since it's a more focused project we've really been able to focus on the details
01:27not only with the aesthetics but also with the interactivity and dynamics of the environment
01:32my absolute favorite area of the dungeon is right up top in the center of the main dungeon itself
01:38where there's sunlight streaking in and a very sharp contrast with darkness in the corners
01:44there's spider webs everywhere which is totally creepy
01:48and you just get this impending feeling that no one has touched this area in so long
01:55and it's extremely mysterious
