00:04Texas, the biggest surprise thus far, fair to say, in the NCAA tournament.
00:07I believe they're the lowest seed to advance this week, 16.
00:10They're 11, total of 148-and-a-half.
00:13So here's the thing, Carla, with Texas, is that November, December, January,
00:18you look to Texas, you would not have been surprised to see them going this far.
00:22They were great, but they were so bad heading into the NCAA tournament.
00:25What clicked here to get them to this point?
00:28Yeah, they figured out maybe pass on the SEC tournament
00:31and then rest up so you can get ready for the NCAA tournament.
00:35Texas is one of those teams, though, they've been here before.
00:39They've made a couple of runs, and they have some veteran leadership,
00:42and they have a point guard who's kind of been there and done that.
00:46When you look at teams that go deep into March, like last year it was Walter Clayton.
00:50He ends up turning himself into an NBA draft pick.
00:53This year, there's a bunch of point guards, especially on the Purdue side.
00:58You're looking at Braden Smith, who's probably one of the best point guards
01:01in the country right now, an All-American.
01:04You need someone like that on the back end when you go deep into the tournament,
01:07and that's why I'm kind of siding with Purdue.
01:09I know the money and the juice is on their side.
01:16Seven and a half points, that's a big spread, especially for kids
01:19who their needs kind of clank together when they get to the free throw line
01:22late in games.
01:23The back door is going to be open on this one.
01:25If you're looking at points, I would take the seven and a half with Texas
01:29because I think they'll play hard to the end, and the back door will be open
01:31because there will be some fouls and some missed free throws.
01:33But if you're looking for the out-white renter,
01:35I think Purdue is going to have enough to get to the Elite Eight.
01:39And this is a chance for Matt Painter to kind of prove to everybody in the country
01:43that he's not just a regular season coach, he's a guy that can get it done
01:45in the postseason as well.
